Generally, it means experiencing weakness, limitation, and inability which affect one's life quality. Self-efficacy is closely related to independence, meaning that the higher self-efficacy the higher the ability to manage behaviour or independence will be. Independence in the elderly is affected by psychological energy, which depends on the level of motivation. The elderly having high motivation tends to be passionate. He/she is different from those having no motivation, who tend to be lazy and less understand the importance of health. This research to identify the correlation between self-efficacy and motivation on elderlies independence at Sudagaran Elderly Social Service House in Banyumas District. This research is a quantitative research using analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisting of 71 elderly people at Sudagaran Elderly Social Service House in Banyumas District were taken through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire sheet. It was analysed using Chi-Square test. Most of the respondents are female (55.3%), have medium self-efficacy level (78.9%), have medium motivation level (67.7%), and are categorized independent (57.7%). The result of Chi-Square test for the self-efficacy obtains p-value of 0.002=0.05 and for the motivation obtains p-value of 0.022=0.05 on the elderly's daily independence. There is a correlation between self-efficacy and motivation on elderly's daily independence at Sudagaran Elderly Social Service House in Banyumas District.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease is a deterioration of kidney function that occurs for 3 months or more. A person with CKD usually does not show any symptoms, but a person can experience several signs throughout his body such as loss of appetite, fatigue, water-electrolyte imbalance and so on. Therefore, an assessment is needed to clarify the medical diagnosis of whether a person suffers from CKD or not.To describe the stages of assessment in patients with an early diagnosis of CKD.The study was conducted in the Darussalam room, collecting data using auto-anamnesis, direct assessment, and physical examination. The results of the assessment phase obtained abnormal data on the respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, urinary, musculoskeletal and integumentary systems. In Mrs.S the whole system almost experiences the symptoms mentioned in theory when a person has CKD.In accordance with the theory of Mrs. S shows most of the signs and symptoms that appear in CKD patients. This was also reinforced by supporting examinations which confirmed that Mrs. S was diagnosed with CKD and was required to undergo hemodialysis at the hospital.

Abstract

The rising number of elderly is due to an increase in life expectancy. However, this can cause a number of illnesses, for example impaired cognitive function. Then, some efforts wear done to maintain cognitive function in the elderly, such as by increasing brain-stimulating avtivities. In particular, the traditional board game of dam-daman is one of the non-pharmacological therapies to inhibit the decline in cognitive function. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the traditional board game of dam-daman on the cognitive fuction of the elderly at the Elderly Integrated Health Center, Pegongsoran, Pemalang District, Pemalang. This study used a quasi-eksperimental pretest-posttest research design with control group design. The sampling technique of the study was random sampling in which 32 elderly people were selected. In addition, MMSE was employed as the research instrument an Independent Sample T-Test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the majority of respondents neither went to school and finished elementary school. Most of them did physical activities for daily activities. The MMSE score indicated that the elderly who received the intervention (traditional board game of dam-daman) obtained a significan increase of brain-stimulating activities compared to them who did not.The results of the Independent Sample T-Test test obtained an Asymp.Sig value was 0.000 (P value <0.05). So, there was an effect of the traditional board games of dam-daman on cognitive function in the Elderly Integrated Health Center, Pegongsoran, Pemalang District, Pemalang, in which the Kolmogrov-Smirnov test shows that p value is <0.05.

Abstract

The elderly in carrying out activities both indoors and outdoors will experience difficulties due to their declining physical condition. Therefore, they will need extra time and effort and tend to tire easily and feel sore when doing various activities (such as sitting, walking, or standing for too long). It is necessary to produce a product that can help and make the elderly more comfortable in carrying out activities. Designing and developing a folding seat for the feasibility and comfort and safety of the seat mat. Tried the use of a folding seat mat. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with a total of 5 elderly people. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis using frequency distribution test. Research results Characteristics of respondents have an average age of 66.4 years with the youngest age 61 years and the oldest age is 70 years. The comfort level of using the Elderly Sitting Mat has an average comfort level of 33.8. The model or display of the seat used has a length of 150 cm and a width of 50 cm. This seat mat is equipped with safety on the right and left with a length of 35 cm, and there are recesses to adjust the angle of the backrest so that it can be adjusted as needed. Abstract

Background:Hypotension in cesarean-section patients occurs due to peripheral vasodilation. It was the result of a sympathetic blockade caused by spinal anesthesia medication. Several methods can be employed to manage hypotension during cesarean section surgery, including fluid loading and vasopressors. Preloading with colloid fluids like hydroxyethyl starch (HES) before initiating spinal anesthesia has been deemed effective in reducing the incidence and severity of hypotension. A preliminary study revealed a decrease in blood pressure (up to 20%) in the first 15 minutes after spinal anesthesia was given to 30 cesarean section patients.Method: In this research, a Quasi-Experimental method was employed with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. A total of 94 respondents were selected as the research sample using a purposive sampling technique. The respondents were divided into two groups: the ephedrine group and the preloading group. The data obtained were then analyzed using Independent Sample T-Test. Results:There is a significant effect on systolic and diastolic blood pressure between the ephedrine and preloading group, with respective significance values of p 0.010 and p 0.001. Conclusion:Preloading gelatine colloid is effective in maintaining blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) in cesarean section patients with spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Background:Hypertension is characterized by high blood pressure, with systolic pressure above 140 mmHg and diastolic pressure above 90 mmHg, and it commonly affects the elderly population. There are two types of risk factors for hypertension, namely modifiable and non-modifiable factors. Method: This research employed a quantitative method with an analytical survey design using a case-control method. The sample size consists of 60 respondent, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Results: Statistical tests indicated a significant correlation for variables such us family history (?-value 0.0001), salt consumtion (?-value 0.0001), stress/anxiety (?-value 0.005), and compliance with a healthy lifestyle (?-value 0.003), with the occurrence of hypertension. On the other hand, age (?-value 0.278), gender (?-value 0.091), obesity status (? value 0.390), smoking status (?-value 0.243), and caffeine/coffee consumtion habits (?-value 0.196) did not show any significant correlation with hypertension occurrence. Conclusion: Family history, salt consumtion, stress/anxiety, and compliance with a healthy lifestyle are factors affecting the occurrence of hypertension in the elderly at Sokaraja 1 Public Health Care Center. However, age, gender, obesity status, smoking status, and caffeine/coffe consumtion habits do not contribute to hypertension.
