Abstract

Abstract: Non-wood forest products (HHBK) such as fruits are a source of income for the community. The purpose of this study was to measure and assess the potential economic value of non-timber forest products from the fruit trees in the village of Kampung Central District of Mempura and calculate the contribution of HHBK fruits of the income of the people in the village of Kampung Central District of Mempura. The method used is survey by taking samples purposively to farmers who take HHBK it the fruit such as durian, manggris, rambutan and other kinds in the village of Middle Village Kecamata Mempura in Siak. Data analysis was conducted by qualitative descriptive. The types of products HHBK main fruit used by the villagers of Kampung Central District of Mempura Siak is durian, mangosteen and rambutan. Potential production of durian, mangosteen, and rambutan respectively 7350 / year, 8100 / year, and 29200 / year. The economic value of HHBK fruit products that provide the greatest contribution to public revenue Kampung Desa Central District of Mempura Siak is durian to the economic value of Rp 257.25 million (90.15%), mangosteen Rp 13,500,000 (4.73%) and rambutan Rp 14.6 million (5.12%). The total economic value of the use of a limited range of products of fruits in the village of Middle Village, District Mempura, Siak Regency was Rp 285.35 million. The revenue contribution of the average value of the product is 33.53% HHBK durian, mangosteen and rambutan while the 2.64% and 2.92%.Keywords:Potential, Economics, Fruits, Non-wood Forest Products

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Lingkungan hidup merupakan aset penting bagi keberlangsungan hidup manusia, mencakup tanaman, hewan, cuaca, dan segala sesuatu yang saling terhubung untuk menciptakan keseimbangan hidup. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, pengetahuan, motivasi, dan praktik hidup berkelanjutan bagi generasi muda melalui program Edukasi Lingkungan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa edukasi lingkungan ini penting dilakukan untuk membekali siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dengan kemampuan dan kesadaran yang dibutuhkan dalam menjaga serta mengawal kelestarian lingkungan hidup di masa depan. Metode pelaksanaan pada kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan dan evaluasi yang meliputi persiapan, seminar edukasi lingkungan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pembentukan karakter siswa SMAN Kerjo, Karanganyar terhadap lingkungan. Hal tersebut juga mendukung visi serta misi SMAN Kerjo dalam membangun lembaga yang unggul, berakhlakul karimah, berkarakter, dan berwawasan lingkungan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan service learning dimana penilaian perkembangan berdasarkan pre-test dan post-test, serta kuisioner. Hasil diperoleh bahwa pemahaman siswa tentang lingkungan meningkat signifikan, dengan pengetahuan naik dari 18,2% menjadi 40,9%. Motivasi siswa untuk menjadi seorang pecinta lingkungan belum mengalami peningkatan signifikan, akan tetapi mereka sudah menunjukkan minat untuk berpartisipasi dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan, seperti membuang sampah pada tempatnya dan menanam serta merawat tanaman. Implikasi dari kegiatan PkM ini adalah meningkatnya perilaku positif siswa sebagai agen perubahan di lingkungan sekolah dan komunitas sekitar. Dengan pendampingan yang konsisten, siswa dapat lebih mengembangkan perilaku hidup berkelanjutan dan meningkatkan kesadaran mereka akan pentingnya kelestarian lingkungan dalam jangka panjang. Kata Kunci: edukasi lingkungan, lingkungan hidup, pengabdian kepada masyarakat, SMAN Kerjo [English]: The environment is a vital asset for the sustainability of human life, encompassing plants, animals, weather, and all interconnected elements that create a balance in life. Therefore, efforts are needed to enhance understanding, knowledge, motivation, and sustainable living practices among the younger generation through environmental education programs. This community service program, in the form of environmental education, is essential to equip high school students with the necessary skills and awareness to protect and preserve the environment for the future. The implementation method for this program included outreach and evaluation, consisting of preparation, environmental education seminars, and evaluation activities. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to enhance the environmental character development of students at SMAN Kerjo, Karanganyar. It also supports the vision and mission of SMAN Kerjo in building an institution that is excellent, virtuous, character-driven, and environmentally aware. Data collection was conducted using service learning, with assessments based on pre-test and post-test results and questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in students' environmental understanding, with knowledge rising from 18.2% to 40.9%. Although students’ motivation to become environmental advocates did not show significant growth, they demonstrated interest in participating in environmental conservation efforts, such as proper waste disposal and planting and maintaining vegetation. The implications of this PkM program include the improvement of positive behavior among students as agents of change in their school and surrounding communities. With consistent guidance, students can further develop sustainable living practices and enhance their awareness of the importance of environmental conservation in the long term. Abstract

Mount Muria, located in Kudus Regency, has immense natural potential as a destination for special-interest tourism, particularly hiking. However, its development and utilization remain suboptimal. One major challenge is the lack of structured and accessible information about hiking trails, making it difficult for visitors to plan their hikes. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of hiking trails on Mount Muria. The research focuses on the trails in Rahtawu Village, specifically Natas Angin Peak and Peak 29. Data were collected through field surveys involving direct observation, documentation (travel distance, time, slope, and facilities), and trekking (coordinates of checkpoints and facilities). The analysis employs a percentage descriptive method to evaluate hiking trail scores based on distance, slope, time, and facilities. Results show that the Natas Angin trail is 3,720 meters long with an average slope of 30.33%, leading to a longer travel time of approximately 204 minutes. In contrast, the Peak 29 trail is 5,004 meters long with a gentler slope of 15%, allowing for a shorter travel time of about 192 minutes. While shorter, the Natas Angin trail is more challenging, making it better suited for experienced hikers, whereas Peak 29 is more suitable for beginners. This study provides valuable information for hikers to plan their trips and emphasizes the importance of optimizing trail information to improve safety and comfort during hikes on Mount Muria.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan aspek penting dalam membentuk individu yang berpengetahuan dan berdaya saing. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola persebaran SMA dan SMK Negeri di Kabupaten Pemalang pada tahun 2019 dan 2023 serta mengidentifikasi kesenjangan antara jumlah sekolah dan kapasitas daya tampung dengan jumlah penduduk usia 15-19 tahun. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan analisis spasial menggunakan perangkat lunak ArcGIS. Pola persebaran dianalisis menggunakan metode Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) sedangkan kesenjangan dihitung berdasarkan rasio jumlah penduduk usia sekolah/jumlah sekolah dan jumlah penduduk usia sekolah/jumlah kapasitas daya tampung per kecamatan. Data yang digunakan meliputi jumlah penduduk usia 15-19 tahun per kecamatan, jumlah SMA dan SMK Negeri serta data kapasitas daya tampung sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola persebaran SMA/SMK Negeri pada tahun 2019 dan 2023 sama, dengan nilai Nearest Neighbor Ratio sebesar 1,017242, z-score 0,127747, dan p-value 0,898349 yang mengindikasikan pola acak. Analisis kesenjangan jumlah sekolah menunjukkan dominasi kategori kesenjangan sedang di kedua tahun tersebut. Analisis kapasitas daya tampung mengungkap adanya peningkatan tekanan di Kecamatan Pemalang dari kategori rendah pada 2019 menjadi sedang pada 2023. Faktor utama penyebab ketidakseimbangan adalah keterbatasan ruang kelas dan fasilitas sekolah. Pertumbuhan penduduk usia sekolah yang tidak diimbangi penambahan fasilitas pendidikan meningkatkan kesenjangan daya tampung. Diperlukan peningkatan kapasitas daya tampung dan pembangunan sekolah baru terutama di daerah dengan kesenjangan sangat tinggi untuk mendukung pemerataan akses pendidikan menengah di Kabupaten Pemalang.Kata kunci: Spasial, Pola Persebaran, Average Nearest Neighbour

Abstract

Global climate change, marked by rising temperatures and extreme weather phenomena, has significantly impacted Huntu Barat Village's agricultural sector, Bulango Selatan Subdistrict, Bone Bolango Regency. Most of residents of West Huntu rely on agriculture as their main source of livelihood, playing a crucial role in the local economy. Therefore, it is important to understand how farmers in this village are adapting to climate change. This study aims to (1) comprehensively identify the adaptation practices implemented by farmers in Huntu Barat Village, and (2) analyze the impacts of these practices in addressing climate change. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through observation and in-depth interviews with farmers, agricultural extension officers, and village officials. The study's findings indicate that the adaptation strategies applied include the selection of crop varieties that are resilient to extreme conditions, the use of organic inputs such as fermented cow urine and rice straw mulch to maintain soil fertility, and the utilization of river irrigation accompanied by simple technologies to ensure even water distribution. The integration of traditional farming techniques with local innovations not only enhances productivity and food security but also supports environmental sustainability. The synergy among these various practices demonstrates that locally implemented adaptation solutions can effectively mitigate the negative impacts of climate change and serve as a relevant model for developing agricultural strategies in other regions.

Abstract

The Wediombo Beach area, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is located within a tsunami-prone zone caused by the subduction of the Indo-Australian Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate along the Sunda Subduction Zone. This study aims to: (1) model tsunami scenarios based on wave height variations of 7 m, 14 m, and 21 m; and (2) estimate the extent of infrastructure damage under each scenario in the Wediombo Beach area. Inundation zone modeling was performed using the DEM overlay method with 30-meter resolution SRTM data in ArcGIS, while infrastructure damage estimation followed the classification framework proposed by Schneider, Hoffmann, and Reicherter (2016), based on elevation and distance-to-coastline parameters. Infrastructure data were obtained through OpenStreetMap (OSM) digitization and validated by field surveys covering 64 infrastructure units. The modeling results indicate inundation areas of 0.023600 km² (7 m scenario), 0.032215 km² (14 m scenario), and 0.037193 km² (21 m scenario). Of the 64 infrastructure units analyzed, 51 units (79.69%) are potentially affected, comprising 23 units (44.23%) with severe damage, 15 units (28.85%) with moderate damage, and 14 units (26.92%) with minor damage. Economic infrastructure exhibits the highest impact rate (91.18%), whereas all transportation infrastructure remains unaffected across all three scenarios, indicating its strategic role as evacuation routes. These findings provide a scientific basis for tsunami hazard zonation and the formulation of coastal spatial planning policies in the Wediombo Beach area.

Abstract

Mount Muria, located on the border of Kudus, Pati, and Jepara in Central Java Province, holds great potential as an ecotourism destination. Despite limited promotion and exploration, the area offers stunning natural scenery and opportunities for nature-based and religious hiking ecotourism. This study aims to identify the development potential of hiking ecotourism on Mount Muria, specifically at Puncak 29 and Puncak Natas Angin. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, integrated with a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis to formulate development strategies. Data collection was conducted using field observations and in-depth interviews with stakeholders such as local communities, hikers and tourism managers. The SWOT analysis revealed that the main strengths of the two peaks lie in their natural beauty, religious tourism appeal, and biodiversity, while weaknesses include inadequate infrastructure and facilities. Threats such as waste management issues, low environmental awareness, and landslide risks also emerged. The results indicate that both locations fall into the "Growth" category, implying substantial opportunities for sustainable development. This study recommends enhanced environmental awareness, infrastructure improvement, and collaborative efforts between local communities and the government to foster ecotourism that benefits the local economy while ensuring ecological preservation.

Abstract

Biogeography is a branch of applied geography that studies about distribution of living organisms and their ecosystems in a biological community in a geographic area. Biogeography has an important role because it is connected to biological, agricultural and forestry sciences, such as understanding the evolutionary of organisms from geographic point of view, biodiversity conservation, environmental engineering and its application in the fields of agriculture and forestry. Geography is part of the social sciences. However, the subjects of social science taught in the Indonesian school curriculum are not comprehensive. In fact, the social science subject of geography is integrated with the concepts of social sciences, humanity, natural sciences, and even a combination of various issues. Thus, there is a possibility of a lack of competencies needed for students to advanced their studies. This activity was carried out through a offline seminar at SMA IT Nur Hidayah. The participants were students of class XII IPS total 83 students. As 96% of students were satisfied and responded well to this activity because they obtained new information that was not available during teaching and learning activities in high school in general. A total of 85% percent of students expressed the importance of study material.

Abstract

The success of the Forest and Land Rehabilitation (RHL) Program is influenced by the level of community participation and institutional capacity at each stage of implementation. This study aims to analyze the level of community institutional participation, identify internal and external factors affecting these institutions, and formulate strategies to strengthen community institutions within the RHL Program in Sumberejo Village, Wonogiri Regency (under the jurisdiction of BPDAS Solo). A descriptive approach employing both quantitative and qualitative methods was used. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document review involving 40 members of the Forest Farmer Group selected via random sampling, while key informants were chosen through purposive sampling. Data analysis utilized a Likert scale, IFAS-EFAS matrices, and SWOT analysis. The results indicate that community institutional participation falls into the "high" category during the implementation (79.37%) and output utilization (81.37%) stages, whereas the planning (63.12%) and evaluation (54.75%) stages fall into the "moderate" category. Identification results reveal that member engagement, group cooperation, and group leadership are key strengths, while limited knowledge regarding rehabilitation and group management remains a weakness. Externally, government support, facilitation, and the availability of rehabilitation land represent major opportunities, despite challenges posed by unpredictable weather and pest infestations. These conditions place the community institutions in Quadrant I; consequently, an SO (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy is prioritized to bolster participation, group cooperation, and the utilization of government support, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the RHL Program.

Abstract

Argomulyo District is a peri-urban area of Salatiga City, Indonesia, experiencing intensive urbanization pressure and designated as an industrial, residential, and sports development zone under Regional Regulation No. 3 of 2023. This study aims to analyze land use change patterns in 2015, 2020, and 2025, and to identify the factors driving these changes. A Random Forest classification algorithm was applied to Sentinel-2 MSI imagery via Google Earth Engine, complemented by in-depth interviews with ten stakeholder informants. Classification accuracy yielded an Overall Accuracy of 97.26% and a Kappa coefficient of 0.9189. During 2015–2025, residential areas expanded by 66.59 ha (31.32%), industrial zones by 5528 ha (23.38%), and agricultural land contracted by 121.87 ha (9.02%), with identical growth rates across both five-year periods indicating structured expansion. Three driving factors were identified: industry-induced demographic pressure generated by a dominant large-scale labor-intensive industrial tenant, progressive industrial investment carrying single-tenant dependency risk, and spatial planning policies that rationalize rather than control ongoing land conversion. Formal permitting compliance proved an inadequate proxy for measuring the effectiveness of land conversion control. These findings indicate that spatial planning instruments in peri-urban areas tend to function as ex-post legitimization of land conversion rather than as effective ex-ante control mechanisms, underscoring the need for spatial-data-driven monitoring frameworks in peri-urban land governance. Strengthening agricultural land protection through legal establishment of a Sustainable Food Agricultural Zone, stricter spatial detail plan instruments, and periodic remote sensing-based monitoring is recommended.
