Abstract

AbstractThis research is R & D. The process of development has been done by using ADDIE model which has five stages of development namely; analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In this research, the ADDIE model was modified by the researcher. It modified from the analysis until the development stage, because the purpose of this research is limited to develop and produce the Instructional Video for online literal reading course which is appropriate used based on the assessment of the experts. The experts in this research were the subject matter experts, and the learning media expert. Data collection instrument used in this research were validation sheets which were given to experts. Based on the validation result on all aspects namely content, design, pedagogy, and the practicability aspect can be found that the highest average percentage is the practicability aspect (93%) and it is categorized as valid. It can be concluded that the Instructional Video for online literal reading course is appropriate used as the teaching media for second semester students of English Language Education at Dwijendra University. Besides, the instructional video is hoped to be a solution for the lecturers in presenting the attractive materials which can increased the students’ motivation in learning reading. However, in future the researcher needs to continue the other steps of the ADDIE model such as the implementation and the evaluation in order to find out the better result of the development of instructional video.Keywords: Developing Instructional Video, online course, literal reading

Abstract

Literacy has continuously become an issue in the education context especially in Merdeka Belajar. This research aims at developing a digital storytelling media “Tat Twam Asi” for VIII Grade Students of Junior High Schools. This research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE Model consisting analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The data were collected from observation, interview, and test. The instruments of data collection are field notes, an interview guide, a validation sheet, a questionnaire, and a literacy test. The finding shows that digital storytelling media “Tat Twam Asi” was conducted using ADDIE model. The average percentage of product practicality from teacher responses was 95.1%. Referring to the product practicality percentage criteria, it is known that the practicality level of digital storytelling learning media “Tat Twam Asi” is in the very practical category. Furthermore, the implementation of this media can be considered effective since there was a significant improvement in students’ literacy of VIII Grade students of Junior High School.

Abstract

This research aims to determine partial and simultaneous positive and significant positive effects between the school literacy movement and parents’ motivation together on the reading interest. This type of research was ex post facto. The population of this research was 251 students and the sample was 70 students determined using random sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and non-tests. The data were analyzed quantitatively using multiple regression tests, namely t-test and F-test. However, before the implementation of multiple regression tests, the prerequisite tests were implemented (the normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test). The finding shows that school literacy movement and parents’ motivation have positive and significant effects on reading interest. It can be concluded that the school literacy movement and parents’ motivation affected the students' reading interests. The school and parents should empower the quality of the school literacy movement and parents’ motivation to improve students’ reading interests.
