Habib Husein Jafar Al-Hadar’s Da’wa Content Commodification on Youtube Badrus Zaman, Akhmad Roja; Assarwani, Mahin Muqaddam

Abstract

Advances in technology and information provide new opportunities for preachers to be able to take part in spreading Islamic teachings through various social media platforms. One of the preachers who took the role to preach through social media was Habib Husein Jafar al-Hadar. This article examines Habib Husein Jafar’s missionary activities on the social media platform he uses, Youtube. The researcher analyzes the data by observing virtually and visually (virtual ethnography) on the da’wa content displayed by Habib Husein Jafar through Youtube. The study shows that: 1) the attention to the spiritual enlightenment efforts of the younger generation is the basis of the selection of the social media platform Youtube - because based on previous research, the users of this social media platform are 18-29 years of age; 2) starting from the da’wa consumers who are primarily young people, the content they present is suitable to their needs and lifestyle and 3) by using the concept of the circuit of culture analysis, Habib Husein Jafar in various ranges can reconstruct people’s perception of one’s definition of holiness. It is not limited based on normative appearance - cloaked and sacrificed, for example - but more on the substantive side, namely by behaving and having knowledgeable skills. With the variety of content, he could visualize himself as a pious young man by not abandoning his social status as a young person.

Abstract

AbstrakThe interpretation of the Qur’an will never be completed, starting from the first time it came down to eart, it has used the results of the Qur’an until now. The method used in monitoring the Qur’an has also developed. The development of the method has implications for various results. Methods in certain periods may not be relevant to other periods, because the development of the world is so fast and requires the existence of new methods of understanding that are in accordance with the times. This study wants to offer hermeneutics as a method of using the Qur’an. Hermeneutics appears as an alternative method in understanding a text (al-Qur’an), the pattern of understanding it offer reveals Contextual methodological assumptions because it does not only pay attention to the content of the text, but also considers the existence of the context that surrounds the text, both psychological context. And social context. The results of this study reveal that the disclosure of the Qur’an by using the hermeneutic method of storage is more human and contextual.Keywords : Text, Understanding, Context, Hermeneutics. AbstrakPenafsiran terhadap al-Qur’an tidak akan pernah selesai, terhitung sejak pertama kali turunnya ke bumi sudah ribuan hasil penafsiran al-Qur’an hingga saat ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam menafsirkan al-Qur’an juga mengalami perkembangan. Perkembangan metode tersebut berimplikasi pada hasil penafsiran yang beragam. Metode pada periode tertentu bisa jadi tidak relevan dengan periode yang lain, dikarenakan perkembangan dunia yang begitu cepat dan mengharuskan adanya metode-metode pemahaman baru yang sesuai dengan zamannya. Penelitian ini ingin menawarkan hermeneutika sebagai metode penafsiran al-Qur’an. Hermeneutika muncul sebagai salah satu alternatif metode dalam memahami sebuah teks (al-Qur’an), Pola pemahaman yang ditawarkannya mengungkap asumsi-asumsi metodologis yang Kontekstual karena tidak hanya memperhatikan isi teks, tetapi juga mempertimbangkan keberadaan konteks yang melingkupi teks tersebut, baik konteks psikologis maupun konteks sosial. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa penafsiran al-Qur’an dengan menggunakan metode hermenutik menghasilkan penafsiran yang lebih manusiawi dan kontekstual.Kata Kunci : Teks, Pemahaman, Konteks, Hermeneutika.
