Graphical Abstract Highlight Research The size of the first mature gonads in hulu'u fish can be analyzed. Differences in sperm and egg size characterize sexual maturity. Sexual maturity is not influenced by season. Hulu'u fish have an asynchronous spawning type. Abstrack Understanding fish reproduction biology, particularly sexual maturity, the reproductive cycle, and fecundity, is useful for managing fisheries. The reproduction of Giuris margaritaceus in Limboto Lake is regrettably unknown. Over a year, fish specimens (N = 662) were gathered. They ranged in length from 6.5 to 20.9 cm (mean SD 10.9±2.5). Fecundity varied from 30,057 to 61,920. The first sexual maturity of male and female fish occurred at different sizes, 11.2 cm and 10.3 cm, respectively. This information is needed to determine this fish's lowest acceptable harvest length under the management aim to enter all-female fish for reproduction at least once. We estimated the reproductive of G. margaritaceus cycle using the size of the oocytes, histological analysis of the ovaries, and monthly mean GSI. These techniques produced the same reliable conclusion: G. margaritaceus can spawn yearly, with maximal between September and October. Based on this finding, spawners of Giuris margaritaceus can be kept from entering the reproductive stock between September and October. Future efforts to fine-tune fishing efforts for the effective management of G. margaritaceus may be aided by the study's findings.

GIS and AHP were integrated to assess land suitability for Pangasius aquaculture in Tulungagung Regency. 2. 59% of the region (976,885.71 ha) was identified as suitable or highly suitable for aquaculture expansion. 3. Water quality, soil conditions, and infrastructure were key factors influencing aquaculture feasibility. 4. Sustainable planning is needed to balance aquaculture expansion with existing land uses like agriculture and settlements. 5. The GIS-based model serves as a policy tool for efficient and sustainable Pangasius aquaculture development.     Abstract Tulungagung Regency in East Java Province has an export demand of 300,000-400,000 tons per year. The high demand for exports spurred the people and government of Tulungagung Regency to develop pangasius aquaculture areas. This will have a negative impact if carried out without a land suitability assessment. The study aimed to analyze the parameters of pangasius aquaculture and map the potential areas for pangasius aquaculture using AHP and GIS-based analysis. This research was conducted from January to August 2022 in Tulungagung Regency, Indonesia. Several stages were carried out, including primary data collection (water quality, soil quality, and infrastructure), secondary data collection (literature, reports, fisheries statistics data, government statistical data, and journals/articles), application of land suitability assessment, and pangasius farming area suitability analysis. Land suitability analysis consists of measuring water quality parameters (DO, temperature, TDS, pH, ammonia, and nitrate), soil quality (texture, pH, and slope), and infrastructure (roads, markets, hatcheries, and fillet factories) using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method (AHP), which includes standardization, determination of weights, and combining the weights of land suitability maps, which are then mapped by ArcGIS Software. Most of the land conditions for the pangasius aquaculture areas in Tulungagung Regency are moderately suitable, suitable, and most suitable, with percentages of 30, 21, and 28%. The area that can be developed for pangasius aquaculture is 976885.71 ha, with the most suitable category being 2619.35 ha, the appropriate category being 2235.74 ha, and the most suitable category being 4913.77 ha.

Abstract

The methyltestosterone hormone is a synthetic hormone of androgen and has been used to obtain the juveniles of male mono-sexual fish such as Tetra Congo, Tilapia, and Betta. The methyltestosterone use on gourami has not maximized. It because there is no data on the exact age of larvae to produce maximum male mono-sexual juveniles, so it is necessary to do research on the effect of methyltestosterone hormone on the age of gourami larvae on the success of male mono-sexual formation and get the right larval period to obtain maximum survival gourami. The methods of this research were conducted using a completely randomized design with four treatments of the age of gourami larvae aged ten days, 15 days, 20 days, and 25 days. Each procedure was repeated three times. Data analysis used ANOVA analysis and LSD test. The larvae are soaked in a solution containing 5 ppm of hormones for 24 hours. The results showed that the administration of the hormone methyltestosterone to gourami larvae (Osphronemus goramy Lacepè¨de, 1801) with different ages had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on male sex formation with the highest average percentage of males obtained in treatment B (15-day larvae age) that is equal to 82.33% and the lowest in the treatment of larval period of 10 and 20 days is 74.00%.
