Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: In Indonesia's energy diplomacy and sustainable development policy, energy transition is a strategic issue. The goal of the Indonesia-Denmark Energy Cooperation Program (INDODEPP) is to promote clean energy transition in Indonesia. In the context of bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy, this study will explain the implementation and barriers to implementation. The research method used is descriptive analysis using secondary data from official government documents, cooperation reports, news, and scientific literature related to INDODEPP. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the program has achieved many good things, such as the creation of the Energy Transition Roadmap and technical assistance in the renewable energy sector. However, there are several things that hinder the implementation of INDODEPP, such as the incompatibility of national and local policies, limited institutional and technical capacity at the local level, and problems in coordination between stakeholders. As a result, the Indonesia-Denmark Energy Cooperation Program (INDODEPP) is a strategic effort to support the transformation of the national energy sector towards a cleaner, more sustainable and efficient energy system. The ability of the parties to overcome structural and institutional barriers is an important factor in this program. Therefore, in order for this cooperation to make a real contribution to realizing the energy transition in Indonesia, cross-sector policy harmonization and technical capacity building at the regional level are needed.

Abstract

English are used to be the main global language in education, diplomacy, and international collaboration. The EF EPI (2024) indicates that nations with high proficiency levels generally possess enhanced global competitiveness. Consequently, proficiency in formal English is crucial for the younger generation to engage effectively in regional and global discussions. To facilitate this, English for Meeting training at SMAN 1 Ngamprah was conducted as a manifestation of experiential, contextually-based learning. Forty-five grade XI students participated in a simulation of an ASEAN meeting, assuming roles such as chairman, co-chairman, secretariat, and country delegates. The training sought to furnish students with formal English language proficiency in a professional setting, while also enhancing their confidence, collaboration, and analytical skills. The activity was conducted in four phases: needs analysis, theoretical instruction, simulation practice, and evaluation. The preliminary research indicated pupils' diminished confidence in employing formal English in official contexts. During this program, students honed their skills in articulating viewpoints, countering arguments, and delivering concluding statements in a diplomatic manner. The theme of ASEAN environmental issues expanded pupils' global perspectives. The evaluation results indicated substantial enhancement in fluency, formal vocabulary utilization, communication organization, and public speaking confidence. Educators and learners assessed the course as pertinent, efficient, and significantly influential in developing 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Indonesia, the greatest waste producer in Southeast Asia, is grappling with a significant issue of food waste, which makes up 41.07% of the nation’s overall waste. Waste4Change, a social enterprise specializing in sustainable trash management, is collaborating with the Bekasi administration to address the issue resulting from insufficient public awareness. The study elucidates Waste4Change’s role in attaining the 12th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in West Java. This is accomplished through the utilization of descriptive analysis methods and data collection approaches such as interviews and literature studies. Waste4Change employs norm life cycle theory and a global governance strategy to transform the way society manages food waste. Studies indicate that Waste4Change has adopted a comprehensive strategy for waste management by utilizing campaigns, teaching, and collaboration. However, limitations in infrastructure, technology, and resources hinder individuals from acquiring further knowledge on the subject of food waste management. Further assessments are required to determine the long-term efficacy of Waste4Change in attaining sustainable development objectives in West Java.

Abstract

The emergence of environmental problems that are influenced by various instruments, one of which is the increase in carbon emissions, which in Indonesia itself is dominated by the energy sector, especially the use of coal, so that action is needed to overcome this problem, one of Indonesia's efforts is to negotiate at the G20 leader's summit in 2022 with the International Partner Group (IPG) regarding the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) scheme, which is climate funding mobilized by developed countries for developing countries with the main objective of reducing dependence on fossil coal energy use, this is in accordance with the Paris Agreement stated in the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) document. However, the process of implementing the JETP scheme needs to be considered more carefully regarding several matters, especially since JETP is one of the climate funds with a fairly large scale and is relatively new, so in this study researchers will focus more on the point of how this JETP scheme can encourage the acceleration of an equitable energy transition in Indonesia by looking at policy regulations related to Indonesia's energy transition and fossil energy consumption and also carbon emissions that Indonesia has produced in recent years using the most relevant concepts, namely the global climate regime and just transition, researchers also see that the JETP scheme has not been able to support the acceleration of the energy transition with many instruments that must be considered such as the emergence of internal and external challenges and obstacles in the JETP Scheme.
