Abstract

The 1000 Gardens Community was established in 2015, where they used idle land for farming. There are three main problems faced by the community, namely: difficulties in inviting the community to participate in the program, difficulties in providing facilities and infrastructure for building communal shelters, and a lack of expertise in running business and marketing. The results of program assistance have succeeded in increasing interest in community participation as indicated by an increase in the number of program participants. Assistance in procuring raw materials and training on business and marketing strategies has succeeded in providing a new perspective for community administrators to run Community-owned business units.

Abstract

Abstract: In Indonesia's energy diplomacy and sustainable development policy, energy transition is a strategic issue. The goal of the Indonesia-Denmark Energy Cooperation Program (INDODEPP) is to promote clean energy transition in Indonesia. In the context of bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy, this study will explain the implementation and barriers to implementation. The research method used is descriptive analysis using secondary data from official government documents, cooperation reports, news, and scientific literature related to INDODEPP. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the program has achieved many good things, such as the creation of the Energy Transition Roadmap and technical assistance in the renewable energy sector. However, there are several things that hinder the implementation of INDODEPP, such as the incompatibility of national and local policies, limited institutional and technical capacity at the local level, and problems in coordination between stakeholders. As a result, the Indonesia-Denmark Energy Cooperation Program (INDODEPP) is a strategic effort to support the transformation of the national energy sector towards a cleaner, more sustainable and efficient energy system. The ability of the parties to overcome structural and institutional barriers is an important factor in this program. Therefore, in order for this cooperation to make a real contribution to realizing the energy transition in Indonesia, cross-sector policy harmonization and technical capacity building at the regional level are needed.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance students’ negotiation and diplomacy skills through a simulation of the Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) at SMAN 1 Padalarang, West Bandung Regency. The program was motivated by students’ limited understanding of diplomatic mechanisms and the fact that SEOM had not been widely recognized as a simulation-based learning medium for developing soft skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The program sought to socialize the concept of international forum simulations, provide an understanding of ASEAN meetings, and improve students’ negotiation, public speaking, and English language skills through a participatory approach. The implementation involved three main methods: socialization sessions, mentoring, and facilitation, all designed to introduce students to ASEAN diplomatic forums, strengthen communication skills, and foster engagement with global issues. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ confidence when speaking in public and presenting structured arguments. Negotiation skills also improved, as evidenced by the strategies applied during the simulation. Students’ understanding of ASEAN meeting mechanisms increased, particularly in negotiation and decision-making processes. Moreover, students demonstrated high enthusiasm, actively asking questions, engaging in discussions, and participating in the simulation. These findings confirm that simulation-based learning is effective in developing diplomatic literacy and 21st-century skills among high school students.

Abstract

As an Indonesian province adjacent to Singapore and Malaysia, the Riau Islands is also strategically a foreign investment center. Unfortunately, ongoing challenges in border management, from inter-agency coordination to cumbersome customs procedures and insufficient infrastructure, undermine its investment appeal. Border efficiency and investment climate will be the idea of this research under an IBM (Integrated Border Management) scheme in Riau Islands cities such as Batam, Bintan and Karimun. This study tackles three central research question as following; What are the main problems of border management in Riau Islands? and What are the IBM principles that can apply here as things we must be putting in practice to overcome these challenges? Method: To address these questions, the study uses qualitative research methodology, combining in-depth interviews with government officials and policy analysts as well as local business leaders with document analysis of regional border and trade policies. The results indicate the constraint of coordination of Indonesian border agencies, absence of effective bilateral formulary with Singapore and Malaysia become main issues affecting efficient delivery/serving at the borders. A two-tiered IBM will be proposed in this study: firstly on strengthening the Indonesian agencies to enable national integration to reduce operational burden and bureaucratic delay; secondly on the international collaboration with neighbouring countries to improve cross-border mobility and ensuring security. As a result, the application of IBM will optimize transit time, lower administrative cost and provide certainty in the regulation applies so that Riau Islands could be more appealing to foreign investors. This indicates that an IBM is not only required for border security but also a strategic instrument for regional economic development.
