Abstract

Public Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru is one of autonomous adiwiyata school in 2012. The program done in this school is compost production. However, this act had not used effective microorganisms (EM4) so it caused more time consuming and ineffective for plants fertilizer. To overcome this problem, volunteer team conducted compost production training by using effective microorganisms (EM4) for teachers in Public Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru. The purpose of this activity is to increase teachers’ knowledge about making compost by adding effective microorganisms (EM4). Demonstration and practice method was used in this activity. This program was conducted for two days in which the first day for delivering theory information and demonstration/practice about impulse sealer utilization. In the second day was conducted compost production training by using EM4. This activity located in Public Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru was conducted in several steps, namely: preparation step, implementation step, and evaluation step. Based on evaluation questionnaire result which was given to Public Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru teachers obtained information that approximately 72,7% teachers’ knowledge increased after training activity.

Abstract

Tidak adanya peningkatan prestasi siswa SMA 3 Siak Hulu dalam KSN bidang kimia tingkat provinsi dan tingkat kelulusan siswa dalam UTBK perlu segera diatasi. Selain itu, adanya paradigma pada sebagian besar siswa yang menganggap kimia merupakan matapelajaran yang sulit dan abstrak membuat siswa kurang termotivasi untuk mengikuti pembelajaran terlebih lagi kegiatan tambahan berkaitan dengan kimia.  Permasalahan ini perlu segera diatasi, salah satunya melalui program kegiatan pengabdian masyarakakat dalam bentuk bimbingan dan pelatihan pemecahan soal-soal KSN dan UTBK agar siswa menjadi terlatih dan termotivasi sehingga dapat memperbaiki prestasi siswa. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan pre test untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan siswa, selanjutnya dilakukan pembimbingan dan pemberian motivasi dalam pengerjaan soal menggunakan metode diskusi, ceramah, dan tanya jawab sebanyak 3 kali pertemuan dan di akhir kegiatan dilakukan post test untuk mengevaluasi capaian siswa pasca pembimbingan dan melihat kesiapan siswa. Adapun siswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah siswa kelas XII IPA. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini siswa dapat merubah paradigma terhadap pembelajaran kimia yang dianggap sulit menjadi pembelajaran mudah dan meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk mempelajari kimia dan berlatih mengerjakan soal-soal high stake test. Kegiatan ini juga dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kesiapan siswa dalam mengikuti KSN dan UTBK.

Abstract

Every company definitely wants good and adequate quality human resources, with the existence of quality human resources makes the company able to compete with other companies. According to Firdaus (Putra et al., n.d.). Therefore the welfare of employees is also very important to note.Especially in giving workload to employees. Each work unit has a different workload. A workload that is too high can cause an employee to become stressed, not to mention the job demands given by the company so that its employees give the best results. Each individual has different resilience to the workload and responsibilities given, the higher the workload given, the higher the stress level that will be experienced by the individual, conversely the lower the workload given, the lower the stress level. A high workload can make employees decide to quit or leave the company and look for a better company. This situation is also known as intensive turnover. In the case of Indonesia, the phenomenon of turnover intention is well recognized by both academics and practitioners. Every year there are around 10-12% of employees who turn over.
