Abstract

Kampung Meteseh Jayengan terletak di Kecamatan Magelang Tengah Kota Magelang, yang berlokasi sekitar 3,5 Km dari pusat kota Magelang. Sebagian besar warga masyarakat kampung Meteseh Jayengan, Kelurahan Magelang memiliki usaha produksi makanan tradisional.

Abstract

3D printers have grown in popularity in recent years because of their ability to print objects quickly and easily. The material used to print objects on a 3d printer is called the filament. Using recycled materials to produce 3D printer filament is gaining popularity in the 3D printing industry. One material that can be recycled to make filament is waste bottles of the Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) type. This research was conducted to see the effect of printing speed on object dimensional stability. In this study used an experimental method by designing variations in printing speed on a 3D printer and using waste bottle filament as raw material. Each variation of printing speed was repeated five times and the dimensions were measured using a micrometer. The results showed that printing speed affects the dimensional stability of 3D printing results from waste bottle filament.

Abstract

Plastic bottle waste is a problem that always arises. In Indonesia, the processing of plastic bottle waste still needs to be improved. Plastic bottle waste can be converted into plastic pellets with economic value. The type of plastic and the colour must be sorted to get quality plastic pellets. A machine is designed to sort out the types of plastic bottle waste, polyethene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethene (HDPE). The result is a prototype plastic biotol waste sorting machine with a 41 kg/hour capacity. The prototype of this machine can sort out plastic bottle waste and those not included in the plastic bottle waste category. The results show that the colour sensor and object sensor work optimally to sort plastic bottle waste according to the program.

Abstract

Manufacturing 3d printer filaments based on used plastic bottle waste is a promising solution in reducing environmental impact while utilizing excessive available resources. This research aims to evaluate the effect of variations in manufacturing temperature (210°C, 220°C, and 230°C) on the impact strength of 3D printer filament based on used bottle waste. The experimental method was carried out by printing filament samples at each printing temperature and testing the impact strength using the Charpy method. The research results show that printing temperature affects the impact strength of the filament, with a temperature of 230°C providing optimal results.
