Abstract

Background: Clinical CT-Scan Examination and Noise Reduction in Hydronephrosis. Non-contrast CT-Scan examination is used to diagnose hydronephrosis and enhance diagnostic information in CT Urology tracking. However, CT Urography images often contain high noise levels due to examination parameters and patient size variations, which can obscure small anatomical details like the ureter. To improve image quality, reconstruction algorithms such as Filtered Back Projection (FBP) and Iterative Reconstruction (IR), particularly SAFIRE, are used alongside denoising techniques to reduce noise while preserving diagnostic information. This research aims to find the most optimal reconstruction algorithm for processing images regarding ureter anatomical information in tracking CT Urology techniques for clinical hydronephrosis. Methods: This is a quasi-experiment using the static group comparison method. Non-contrast CT (NCCT) Urology examination images in hydronephrosis patients were processed with FBP and SAFIRE strength 3 reconstruction algorithms. Assessment of anatomical image information analysis was conducted quantitatively by measuring noise and assessing anatomical information by respondents. Results: The results of this study are differences in anatomical information on Urology CT tracking images with variations in FBP and SAFIRE reconstruction algorithms with a p-value of 0.00 (0.05 The study results showed significant differences in ureter anatomical information between CT Urology tracking images reconstructed with FBP and SAFIRE algorithms (p-value = 0.00 0.05). The alternative hypothesis was accepted, indicating that SAFIRE is more effective than FBP in reducing noise in CT Urology tracking images. Conclusions: SAFIRE produces higher image quality and lower noise in non-contrast CT Urology.

Abstract

Background: Radiation protection is very important for patient and personnel safety in radiology services. It has been given in the college through classical lectures, including in Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Department Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang. The student’s knowledge is routinely evaluated but their compliance in the clinical activities has never been specifically observed. This study aims to find out the relationship between knowledge toward compliance of the application of radiation protection on clinical practice students. Methods: This is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. Research was conducted on 90 second-year clinical internship students of the Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Department. The level of knowledge was measured by written test, while the level of compliance was observed by clinical observation. The affecting factors are investigated through indepth interview. Data were analyzed by Spearman Rank Correlation. Results: The knowledge levels among the students were "excellent” (18%), "good" (68%), and "fair" (14%). The radiation protection compliance levels were "good" (73%) and "very good" (27%). There was a significant relationship between radiation protection knowledge level toward radiation protection compliance (p value <0.05). The strength of the relationship was low (coefficient interval = 0.257). Conclusions: There was a relationship between knowledge and the level of compliance, but it was not the only influencing factor. The environment tends to have an effect on the level of compliance. Radiographers and clinical instructors should be good role model in applying radiation protection.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to help library users search for information more quickly, accurately, and contextually, and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the concepts and architecture of institutional repositories that use the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) method. This research adopts a Design Science Research (DSR) approach to address challenges in information retrieval arising from advances in artificial intelligence. The artifact developed is an artificial intelligence-based institutional repository system using the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) method. The research results regarding the implementation of building an institutional repository with the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach include the stages of identifying conventional repository issues from the past to the present, designing or conceptualizing an RAG-based system, the workflow of implementing RAG technology in institutional repositories, analysis of advantages, and implications for the academic environment. This study concludes that applying RAG to institutional repositories not only increases the efficiency of information search but also enriches the user experience in finding relevant, contextual knowledge. This research offers concrete and applicable solutions to improve the quality of library services in the digital era

Abstract

Background: Radiation exposure to radiographers in on-site X-ray mobile examination is relatively high due to lack of shielding. Bluetooth wireless exposure system was developed to overcome the situation by providing longer range of exposure distance. The system combines the exposure trigerring componnents, Bluetooth moduls, and microcontrollers. The aim of this study was to analyze the performance of the developed Bluetooth Wireless Exposure Switch for X-ray mobile unit. Methods: This is quantitative research with an explorative approach. The system was installed on CorsixTM  mobile X-ray in clinical set up. The X-ray output was tested refering to modified protocol for kVp output, timer accuracy, and radiation reproducibility.  Performance was assessed by comparing the X-ray output triggerred by the wireless exposure switch and conventional original wired exposure switch. The response time of the wireless system was measured the delay between transmiting and receiving time using software provided by ArduinoTM. Results: There were no difference on kVp output (p value >0.05), timer accuracy (p value >0.05), and radiation reproducibility (p value >0.05) between exposure trigerring using Bluetooth wireless exposure switch and the conventional switch. The time delay between transmiting and receiving time were 0,0612 second for pre-exposure phase and 0,0736 for exposure phase. Conclusions: Bluetooth wireless exposure switch showed a good performance in trigerring X-ray exposure and feasibly applied in clinical practice.
