Abstract

Purpose — The document explores the literature published from 2019 to 2022 regarding occupational self-care. It proposes that the risks and contagion, illness, and death reduced the accidents and illnesses in the local occupational field. Design/methodology/approach—A documentary, cross-sectional, exploratory, and correlational study was conducted using a sample of findings published in journals indexed to international repositories, considering the keywords "self-care" and "COVID-19" from 2019 to 2022. Findings — A structure of neural networks was found that reflects learning from the literature regarding the intensification of information related to the pandemic, infections, diseases, and deaths in the workplace. Practical implications — The findings allow the design of a workplace communication and risk prevention policy. Such guidelines correspond to biosafety policies in organizations in case of contingencies. Originality/value — The study's contribution to the state of the matter lies in establishing a research agenda on occupational health and self-care in the face of health crises, risks, and contingencies. Paper type — Case study

Abstract

The perception of the police action in the face of Covid-19 was the objective of this work. A cross-sectional, psychometric and correlational study was carried out with a sample of 100 students, considering their participation in the public health system as social servants or professional practitioners through a platform. A four-factor structure was found that explained 63% of the total variance, although the findings are only applicable to the sample, and its extension to other scenarios is recommended.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to corroborate the dimensions of ecocentric governance: conflict between authorities and users, negotiation and agreement between the parties, and co-responsible self-regulation between the rulers and the ruled regarding energy and water resources and services. An exploratory, cross-sectional and psychometric study was carried out with a non-probabilistic selection of 100 officials and electricity and water service users. This study used the governance inventory, and the three preponderant factors were obtained: conflict, negotiation-consensus, and self-regulation-co-responsibility. The three factors refer to governance oriented towards resource conservation concerning the literature consulted. The third factor of self-regulation and co-responsibility suggests policies oriented toward the availability of energy and water resources. Empirical testing of the model in a scenario and a sample exposed to resource scarcity is recommended.

Abstract

The objective of this work was to specify a model for the study of electronic consumption. An exploratory, cross-sectional and psychometric study was conducted with a selection of Internet users, considering their time of use. An associative perceptual structure was found between the usefulness of the technology and the effectiveness of the respondent, although the research design limited the results to the research sample, suggesting the extension of the work towards other cybernetic contexts.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted knowledge management in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Studies have found that material, financial, and human resources are the key factors in the knowledge network, and mistrust often exists between decision-makers and those who carry out the work. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and trust by conducting a cross-sectional, exploratory, and correlational study with a sample of 10 professional practitioners and social workers involved in COVID-19 care. The study findings show that innovation, competitiveness, and efficiency are the central, unifying, and structural axes of information translation and knowledge transfer. These results are not extensive to the university community, and they are innovative because they highlight the importance of trust as the guiding principle of knowledge management.
