Abstract

Film merupakan bagian dalam komunikasi massa yang tugasnya mengirim dan menerima pesan dan biasanya berisi gambaran realitas sosial. Penelitian ini terkait khalayak aktif dalam memaknai media (film) sehingga tentunya masing-masing khalayak akan mempunyai makna dan persepsi yang berbeda-beda. Film Dear David merupakan film drama fantasi romantis remaja yang mengusung tema isu anak remaja salah satunya berupa pelecehan seksual, terjadi kontroversional sejak rilisnya film ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui resepsi penonton terhadap makna normalisasi pelecehan seksual. Pemahaman bagaimana khalayak menafsirkan isi teks media. Penelitian ini memilih analisis resepsi milik S. Hall model encoding dan decoding dengan teori pendukung uses and effect. Hasil penelitian menunjukan dari lima scene dalam film Dear David yang mengarah kepada seksualitas, empat scene didominasi oleh dominant hegemonic position, sedangkan satu scene terakhir didominasi oleh opposition position. Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua sisi pada khalayak, pertama sisi positif berupa ajaran untuk bertanggung jawab atas diri sendiri, dapat bersikap berani atas keadilan, jujur, peran orang tua dalam menghadapi masalah anak, menjaga privasi dan meminta maaf apabila salah. Sedangkan sisi negatif dari film ini dapat memunculkan sikap normalisasi terhadap pelecehan seksual untuk generasi muda dengan catatan jika penonton tersebut tidak dapat menangkap pesan baiknya.

Abstract

Music is part of communication, through song lyrics the communicator tries to convey a message to the communicant. If you look at the lyrics, music is a form of verbal communication. BTS (Beyond The Scene) or also often known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, is a male singer group from South Korea. BTS is one of the singers who uses music as a medium for conveying messages to their listeners and packages them through song lyrics that hold special meaning. This research is entitled "Analysis of the Meaning of Quarter Life Crisis in the Lyrics of the BTS Song "Zero O'Clock" (Ferdinand De Saussure's Semiotic Study)". This research aims to find the meaning of Quarter Life Crisis contained in the lyrics of the BTS song "Zero O'Clock". Using Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic theory, the author examines the signifiers and signifieds in each verse of the BTS song entitled "Zero O'Clock" using a qualitative descriptive method. The result of this research is the discovery of the meaning of quarter life crisis contained in the lyrics of the BTS song "Zero O'Clock. Apart from the meaning of the quarter life crisis, BTS also has a motivational message for its listeners in this song entitled "Zero O'Clock".
