Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of thematic learning using Index Card Match instructional model on students’ conceptual understanding. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research involving fifth grade students in one of public primary school in Subang. Results suggest that after the implementation of thematic learning using Index Card Match instructional model, students’ conceptual understanding was improved. Additionally, data analysis imply that students’ learning activities throughout the three cycle of thematic learning with Index Card Match was increased at each meeting

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of training and competency on employee performance at the Education and Culture Agency of Sumbawa District, either partially or simultaneously. The type of this study was associative. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data in the form of scores from respondents' answers to questions given through a questionnaire. The population in this study was all employees at the Sumbawa Regency Education and Culture Service, totaling 50 people. Seeing that the population in this study is relatively small, less than 100 people, this study used a census sampling technique (saturated sample), which is a sampling technique when all members of the population are used as samples. Statistical tests in this research were carried out using the Stata application (Statistics and Data) to assist with data processing. The Stata output will then be studied using multiple linear regression analysis techniques, partial hypothesis testing (t test), simultaneous hypothesis testing (F test), and determinant coefficient test (R2). The results of this study showed that the training and competency had a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the the Education and Culture Agency of Sumbawa District, either partially and simultaneously. The training and competency had quite a large ability to effect on employee performance variables at the Education and Culture Agency of Sumbawa District, namely 40%, while the remaining 60% was effected by other variables outside this study model, such as the work motivation, incentives, and organizational culture.

Abstract

AbstractThe role of communication in an organization is very important, because it will help establish good relationships and good coordination between fellow members in achieving organizational goals, besides that organizational communication will have an impact on increasing the work motivation of the members of the organization. Failure to communicate by PT. Sarana Investindo in the company can cause failure to achieve company goals and risk threatening the existence and good name of the company. This study examines the application of organizational communication at PT. Sarana Investindo to increase employee motivation. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used through observation, interviews, and literature studies The results of the study explain that the role of organizational communication at PT. Sarana Investindo relies on mutual communication between leaders and employees to increase motivation at work, especially to meet physiological needs based on Maslow's theory for employees. From the results of the research team's interviews, the obstacles that the company has are namely: a) technical factors; b) human factors; c) semantic factors; and d) psychological factors. To deal with these obstacles, a. fulfill job satisfaction; b. provide training; and c. supervise, evaluate, and guide leaders.Keywords: The Role of Communication, Organizational Communication, Work Motivation AbstrakPeranan komunikasi dalam suatu organisasi sangatlah penting, karena akan membantu terjalinnya hubungan yang baik dan koordinasi yang baik antar sesama anggota dalam mencapai tujuan organisasi, selain itu komunikasi organisasi akan berdampak pada peningkatan motivasi kerja para anggota organisasi tersebut. Kegagalan komunikasi oleh PT. Sarana Investindo dalam perusahaan dapat menyebabkan tidak tercapainya tujuan perusahaan dan beresiko mengancam eksistensi dan nama baik perusahaan. Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan komunikasi organisasi pada PT. Sarana Investindo untuk meningkatkan motivasi karyawan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa peran komunikasi organisasi di PT. Sarana Investindo mengandalkan komunikasi timbal balik antara pimpinan dan karyawan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dalam bekerja, terutama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan fisiologis berdasarkan teori Maslow bagi karyawan. Dari hasil wawancara tim peneliti, kendala yang dimiliki perusahaan yaitu: a) faktor teknis; b) faktor manusia; c) faktor semantik; dan d) faktor psikologis. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, a. memenuhi kepuasan kerja; B. memberikan pelatihan; dan C. mengawasi, mengevaluasi, dan membimbing pemimpin.Kata kunci: Peran Komunikasi, Komunikasi Organisasi, Motivasi Kerja
