Abstract

Abstrak Mouse merupakan salah satu perangkat keras (hardware) sebagai input komputer yang sangatpenting. Mouse umumnya diletakkan di sebelah kanan dari pengguna, digunakan dengan tangan kanan. Hal ini menimbulkan berbagai efek samping dan berbagai kerugian/kesulitan bagi beberapa golongan pengguna. Kesulitan yang pertama terdapat pada pengguna komputer yang menyandang cacat, terutama pada bagian tangannya. Ketidakmampuannya dalam menggenggam dan menggunakan mouse seringkali menjadi halangan dalam menggunakan komputer lebih lanjut. Bahkan tidak jarang mereka menggunakan kakinya di atas meja, atau meletakkan mouse lebih dekat dengan lantai sehingga terjangkau oleh kaki. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa desain mouse yang diperuntukkan bagi tangan manusia tidak sempurna apabila digunakan dengan kaki. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan mouse yang dirancang khusus untuk dapat digunakan dengan kaki. Meskipun bukan penemuan baru, dan hanya aplikasi lanjutan dari penggunaan mouse, namun rancangan ini dapat memberikan manfaat, khususnya bagi penyandang cacat. Kata Kunci: mouse, komputer, cacat, kaki  Abstract Mouse is one of the most important computer input hardwares. Mouse is generally placed on the right side of the computer user, and used with the right hand. This causes side effects and a variety of disadvantages/ difficulties for some users. The first difficulty is for users with disabilities, especially on their hands. The inability to grasp and use mouse often becomes an obstacle in using the computer. They even put their feet on desk, or put the mouse closer to the floor near the foot. This shows that the mouse which is designed for human hands is certainly not perfect when used with foot. Therefore, specially designed mouse operable with foot is needed. Abstract

AbstrakWireless Sensor Networks terdiri atas sejumlah besar titik (nodes) dengan kemampuan untuk melakukan sensing, komputasi, dan komunikasi. Dalam banyak aspek, sensor networks memiliki kesamaan dengan mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), namun memiliki beberapa perbedaan yang penting. Kemiripannya adalah dalam hal topologi, medium komunikasi yang digunakan bersama, dan permasalahan dalam konektivitas. Perbedaannya adalah sensor networks biasanya mencakup mobilitas yang lebih rendah dan sumber daya yang jauh lebih terbatas, oleh karenanya menimbulkan permasalahan skalabilitas. Dalam paper ini, dibahas teknik-teknik pengalamatan untuk sensor networks, trade-off dalam desain skema pengalamatan tertentu, dan perbandingan di antara berbagai teknik. Kata Kunci: wireless sensor networks, nodes, pengalamatan, wireless access media, RETRI  AbstractWireless Sensor Networks consist of nodes which are able to perform sensing, computation, and communication. In many aspects, sensor networks are similar but also different from the mobile ad hoc networks (MANET). Their similaritiesinclude topology, shared communication medium, and connectivityproblems. Different from the MANET, the sensor networks typically contain lower mobility, much more limited resources, which therefore lead to scalability problems. Abstract

Abstract Basically, LAN and wireless LAN are both computer networks that are connected to each other, which distinguishes between the two is the media data used. LAN still using cable as a medium for data traffic, while the wireless LAN using a medium wave radio/air. Wireless LAN networks are designed in this paper is intended for an office area which consists of six floors where on each floor there is an access point which is configured with a static route to deliver data packets to their proper destinations via routes that were generated manually. In designing this network simulation authors choose references software from Cisco that is Packet Tracer 5.3. From the simulation results obtained the conclusion that the configuration of the Wireless LAN was able to work well. Keywords: wireless LAN, static route, host, packet tracer

Abstract

Abstrak Ketenangan merupakan suatu kondisi yang diperlukan di beberapa lokasi atau tempat tertentu, misalkan perpustakaan, tempat ibadah, dan sebagainya. Seringkali ketenangan ini terganggu dikarenakan adanya orang-orang yang mengobrol atau bahkan bersenda gurau. Alat ini dapat memberikan peringatan secara otomatis kepada pengguna ruangan untuk tetap menjaga ketenangan ruangan. Alat ini akan aktif saat mendeteksi tingkat kebisingan ruangan meningkat. Tingkat suara yang dikategorikan mengganggu ketenangan dapat diatur sesuai dengan tingkat kebisingan masing-masing yang dapat ditolerir. Dengan sistem ini diharapkan ketenangan akan tetap terjaga dan memberikan efek malu kepada pihak-pihak yang mengganggu ketenangan ruangan. Kata Kunci: Ketenangan Ruangan, Otomatisasi, Pemberi Peringatan  Abstract Tranquility is a necessary condition in some locations or certain places such as libraries and places of worship. The tranquility is often borekenwhen people talk excessively or even frolic. This tool can provide automatic alerts to the room users to maintain the room quietness. This tool will be activated when the noise level increases. The sound level categorized as disturbing can be adjusted according to the respective noise levels that can be tolerated. Abstract

AbstrakMeningkatnya kebutuhan telekomunikasi yang diiringi dengan perkembangan jenis layanan telekomunikasi mendorong lahirnya evolusi teknologi telekomunikasi. Evolusi dimulai dari teknologi telekomunikasi generasi nol (0G) hingga generasi kelima (5G) yang akan segera diimplementasikan. Di samping sejumlah keunggulan yang menjanjikan, teknologi generasi kelima (5G) juga masih menghadapi sejumlah tantangan. Untuk mempersiapkan implementasi teknologi generasi kelima (5G), dilakukan analisis awal terhadap sejumlah teknologi yang memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan pada generasi kelima (5G) dalam menjawab karakteristik dari generasi tersebut. Beberapa teknologi memiliki spesifikasi yang mendukung teknologi generasi kelima (5G), namun masih diperlukan penelitian dan pengembangan untuk optimalisasi dan meminimalkan kekurangan yang ada pada masing-masing teknologi.Kata kunci: bandwidth, data rate, generasi kelima, multiple access, massive MIMOAbstractThe increasing need of telecommunications, along with the development of telecommunication services led to the evolution of telecommunication technology. Abstract

Abstrak LED screen adalah pengembangan dari penggunaan LED untuk menampilkan informasi. Alternatif dari LED screen sebagai media tampilan adalah rotary LED display. Teknologi rotary merupakan metode baru dalam menampilkan informasi dengan menggunakan media LED. Teknik ini memanfaatkan pembagian ruang dalam segmen-segmen kemudian LED dinyalakan secara multipleks. Hal ini dimungkinkan dengan memanfaatkan persistence of vision dari mata manusia. Hasil kualitatif dari alat “Rotary LED Display dengan Sistem RGB” menunjukkan bahwa informasi berupa karakter alfanumerik dapat ditangkap mata dalam warna merah, biru, dan hijau. Informasi yang ditampilkan LED screen dapat ditampilkan juga dalam sistem LED rotary. Keunggulan tampilan dengan teknik rotary dibanding LED screen adalah penggunaan hardware LED yang lebih sedikit untuk menampilkan informasi dengan resolusi yang sama. Berkurangnya penggunaan LED menyebabkan daya yang digunakan rotary LED lebih sedikit dibandingkan LED screen. Kata kunci: Rotary LED, RGB,Persistance of Vision Abstract LED screen is the development of LED application as a source of information. An alternative to utilize LED as a medium of information is rotary LED display. Rotary technology is a novelty method in information display by using LED as foundation. The technique is by separating space in segments and then flicking LED in multiplexing sequence. This is made possible by utilizing human eyes’ persistence of vision. The qualitative result of the “Rotary LED Display with RGB System” shows that the information in the form of alphanumeric character can be seen by human eyes in red, blue, and green colors. The same information seen in LED screen can also be shown in rotary LED system. The advantage of rotary LED display is the reduced LED usage for the same resolution result. The decreased use of LED resulted in the reduced power consumption compared to the LED screen. Keywords: Rotary LED, RGB,Persistance of Vision

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian terkait energi terbarukan, seperti energi air, angin, dan bahkan nuklir telah dilakukan. Namun, suara sebagai energi mekanik, ternyata juga memiliki potensi untuk menjadi salah satu alternatif energi. Sebagai konsekuensi dari Hukum Kekekalan Energi, energi suara dapat diubah menjadi energi listrik. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian sistem konversi energi suara menjadi energi listrik, dengan memanfaatkan komponen piezoelektrik. Berdasarkan data baseline dari beberapa area jalan dan pabrik, dilakukan pengukuran dengan menggunakan signal generator sebagai sumber suara dan piezoelectric sebagai transducer yang mengkonversi energi suara menjadi energi listrik. Nilai frekuensi yang dihasilkan berada pada kisaran tertentu, dan nilai tertinggi berkisar diantara 760-780 Hz. Semakin dekat sumber suara, resonansi semakin sering terjadi dan tegangan yang dihasilkan Piezoelectric Transducer semakin besar.

Abstract

In this study, the performance of bipolar optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) with dual electro-optical modulator (EOM) scheme for multi-user scenario was tested and analyzed with OptiSystem version 10. The performance measurement was implemented for free-space optical (FSO) communication and includes the common noises in optical communication. Two different channels were used in the measurement, i.e., additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading channel. Two extreme weather conditions, strong rain and storm, were considered in the simulation. The performance between three spectral amplitude coding (SAC) codes, i.e., Modified M-Sequence code, Walsh-Hadamard code, and random diagonal (RD) code were measured and compared. The simulation results indicate that Modified M-Sequence code had the highest BER while RD code achieved the lowest BER in the short-range and Walsh-Hadamard code got the lowest BER for the medium-range of FSO, both for AWGN only and AWGN with fading channel. In strong turbulence condition, the performance of all codes become comparable after 500 m of FSO range. Modified M-Sequence suffered the lowest performance degradation while RD code endured the highest performance deterioration in all-weather condition. The results show that Modified M-Sequence can be applied for medium to long-range FSO.

Abstract

Recently, autonomous robots play an important role in many aspects. Autonomous robots help improve efficiency and productivity, further reduce errors, and risk rates. Employee safety in high-risk work environments is also becoming one of the benefits of autonomous robots. When designing an autonomous robot, two paradigms can be implemented, i.e., planning and reactive paradigm. A distinct feature of the reactive paradigm is that all activities are carried out through behavior. The benefits of the reactive paradigm include can be applied in limited inexpensive hardware resources, low complexity, goal convergence, easy adaptation to changing situations, and a completely unfamiliar environment with unpredictable mobile obstacles. In this paper, the behavior-based reactive system of an autonomous mobile robot is designed to collect stuff objects. Negotiators have been proposed to combine several behaviors into a system that can be implemented in a variety of situations and cases. The results show that a negotiator can be implemented to realize a fully autonomous mobile robot based on the behavior of the reactive system.

Abstract

The growth in mobile data traffic is forcing network operators to find ways to deliver higher bandwidth, better coverage, and better quality of service (QoS) at lower development costs. One method that can be used to meet this need is the aggregation technique. Aggregation techniques that run on several different technologies are called heterogeneous networks (HetNet). Recently, some advanced technologies have been proposed to aggregate different long-term evolution (LTE) carriers or different radio access technologies (RAT) to generate higher bandwidth. Many efforts have been made to improve the throughput of heterogeneous networks. One of the factors that affects the maximum LTE-WLAN aggregation (LWA) throughput is the Wi-Fi access point (AP) signal strength. Since the power of small cells is very low, the LWA range is not very large, so the LWA range needs to be increased. This paper proposes the solution that can be implemented by using multiple Wi-Fi Aps scheme. From the experiments, it found that LWA with multiple Wi-Fi APs has better signal strength than LWA with a single Wi-Fi AP. LWA with multiple Wi-Fi APs further increase the coverage of the network.
