Abstract

This study explores photographic works that can be utilised as fine artwork and as learning media for deaf people. The research method used in creating works of art is searching for ideas, deepening and developing them. Through this method, the creation of photography works bg visualizing hand movement and expressions using two techniques, namely multiple exposure and digital imaging. The object of this photo is someone who has mastered sign language. This research then produced several photographic works combined into a photobook that can be used as a teaching and learning media for teachers and students at special schools.Keywords: photography, sign language, photobook, learning media.

Abstract

The work titled “Gamelan Craftsmen of Resi Laras in a Photography Essay” aims to visualize the gamelan-making process in Karanganyar Regency through a photographic essay and to explore appropriate lighting arrangements for this process. The subject of this work includes gamelan craftsmen in the process of gamelan-making, from intial to the final stages. The creative method involved several stages: data collection, exploration, experimentation, producting, editing, and presentation. The resulting work consist of 20 photographs measuring 60x90cm. This work is expected to serve as a visual archive for preserving gamelan crafts and provide insight to the public about Gamelan Resi Laras-making process and provide references for essay photography.

Abstract

Background: The development of smart tourism requires an integrated ecosystem framework that connects technology, governance, business, and visitor experience. Objective: This study aims to develop a comprehensive Smart Tourism Ecosystem (STE) framework and examine its relevance to Solo City, Indonesia. Methods: This study employed a qualitative, literature-based research design that combining a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and a narrative review to established a comprehensive theoretical foundation while gaining deep contextual insight. Results: The study identifies five key dimensions of the STE: Smart Technology, Smart Business Ecosystem, Smart Governance, Tourist Experience, and Smart Destination. The findings indicate that Solo has strong potential to develop as a culturally driven smart destination, supported by its creative economy, digital initiatives, and collaborative stakeholders. Conclusion: While the proposed framework offers strategic insights, further empirical research is needed to assess local readiness and support sustainable smart tourism implementation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research focuses on optimizing profile videos as an effective promotional tool to enhance the branding of the Photography Study Program at ISI Surakarta. The objective of the study is to evaluate how profile videos can increase engagement, strengthen the program's identity, and expand promotional outreach. A mixed-methods approach was employed, involving surveys, observations, and data analysis related to promotional activities. The findings indicate that profile videos featuring student testimonials, achievements, creative activities, and advanced facilities successfully enhance the program's appeal and provide comprehensive information to prospective students and stakeholders. The videos are distributed through strategic platforms, such as social media, official websites, and promotional events, ensuring a broader audience reach. It is recommended that the study program periodically update the content and utilize interactive technologies to enhance engagement in the future.
