Abstract

. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of Speech Ability with the Ability to Write Speech Texts of Class XI Students of SMAN 2 Bengkulu City. This research used correlational method. The research population was all students of class XI of SMAN 2 Bengkulu city with the research sample using purposive sampling technique that is with special consideration only taking students of class XI-E MIPA as many as 30 people. Research design with independent variable (X) speech skills and dependent variable (Y) ability to write speech text. Data collection used speech practice tests and speech text writing tests. The research instruments were (1) instructions and rubrics for writing speech texts including aspects of content, text structure, diction, formal sentences, and mechanics (BI spelling) and (2) rubrics for assessing speech practice including five elements of linguistic aspects and five elements of non-language aspects. The data analysis technique used the average formula for each variable and the product moment correlation formula to test the research hypothesis. The results showed that students' speech skills were categorized as good followed by students' speech text writing skills which were also categorized as good. The alternative hypothesis test results with kk of 0.977 at the 5% significance level or rhit (0.977) > rtabel (0.361) are accepted. That is, there is a positive and significant correlation between Speech Proficiency and Speech Text Writing Ability of Class XI Students of SMAN 2 Bengkulu City. This means that the high value of speech text writing ability occurs because of the high value of students' speech ability or vice versa

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dibantu oleh alat evaluasi Blooket. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan setiap siklus terdiri atas tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 39 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi hasil tes kemampuan menulis teks laporan dan observasi aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata meningkat dari 70,38 pada siklus pertama menjadi 81,43 pada siklus kedua. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan alat evaluasi Blooket dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa secara signifikan. Selain itu, siswa lebih termotivasi dan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, model pembelajaran ini efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran menulis teks laporan hasil observasi pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu.   Kata Kunci : Problem Based Learning, Kemampuan menulis, Blooket, Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi   ABSTRACT   This study aimed to improve the ability of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu to write observation report texts by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, supported by the evaluation tool Blooket. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle comprising the stages of planning, implementation, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 39 10th-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu. Data collected included the results of tests on writing observation report texts and observations of student activities. The results indicated that the average score increased from 70.38 in the first cycle to 81.43 in the second cycle. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, assisted by the evaluation tool Blooket, significantly enhances students' writing skills. Moreover, students demonstrated higher motivation and engagement during the learning process. In conclusion, this learning model is effective in improving the quality of teaching observation report text writing for 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu.     Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Writing skills, Blooket, Observation Report Text.
