Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the application of philosophy of language in early childhood Arabic language acquisition, focusing on pragmatics, semantics, and hermeneutics. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, the research involved observations and interviews in three Raudhatul Athfal in Riau Islands. The results showed that the pragmatic approach that integrates real-life contexts, such as role-playing, is effective in improving communication skills. The semantic approach, through the introduction of real object-based vocabulary, strengthens children's understanding of meaning structures. Meanwhile, hermeneutics helps children internalise cultural and religious values through interactive stories and daily prayers. Although challenges such as lack of social environmental support and semantic complexity were encountered, great opportunities emerged through educational technology innovation and community collaboration. This research makes a theoretical contribution in the integration of philosophy of language with Arabic language teaching, as well as offering practical guidance for designing more effective and meaningful teaching methods.

Abstract

Collocations in Arabic, especially in Qur'anic texts, play a significant role in constructing linguistic meaning and function. Although corpus linguistic studies of the Qur'ān have grown, research specifically analysing collocations of verbs and prepositions in this sacred text is limited. While previous studies have focused more on analysing the semantics of individual words or their morphological relationships, this study offers a novelty by integrating corpus-based collocation analysis in examining the relationship between the verb āmana ‘believe’ and its accompanying prepositions in Surah Al-Baqarah. This study uses a corpus linguistic approach to systematically identify collocation patterns with the help of AntConc software. The analysis includes frequency of occurrence, lexical distribution, as well as semantic interpretation of collocations in the context of the Qur'an. The results show that the collocation āmana bi ‘believe in’ is the most dominant form, appearing 18 times, which reflects the transcendental faith relationship between the subject and the object of belief, such as Allah or His revelation. Meanwhile, the collocations āmana li ‘believe for’ and āmana min ‘believe from’ reveal more complex social nuances and origins of faith, suggesting that the meaning of faith in the Qur'ān has wider contextual variations compared to conventional meanings. Thus, this study contributes to the study of corpus linguistics, Qur'anic exegesis, and Arabic language teaching, particularly in understanding how collocation patterns play a role in shaping theological meaning. The novelty of this research lies in the application of corpus-based collocation analysis in the study of sacred texts, which has rarely been done comprehensively in Arabic linguistic studies. The results of this study can also support a more accurate and contextualised translation of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the bilingual programme at SD Muhammadiyah Jakarta using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model combined with Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory. This topic is important as it reflects the integrative efforts of Islamic-based education with the global need for multilingual competencies, particularly in the context of urban Islamic schools facing social, cultural, and policy complexities. This study employs a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with students, teachers, school principals, and parents, as well as school documentation. Analysis was conducted thematically based on the CIPP dimensions and ecological systems. The findings indicate that the bilingual programme is implemented systematically with strong cross-system support, including active participation from teachers, principals, and parents. Translanguaging strategies have proven effective in helping students understand the material without neglecting Islamic values. These findings expand the application of the CIPP model and ecological theory in the context of values-based bilingual education. This research contributes to the development of a holistic evaluative approach and provides a policy basis for Islamic schools to implement contextual and sustainable bilingual programmes. Further research is recommended to adopt a longitudinal and mixed-methods design to strengthen the validity and scope of the findings.
