Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media, including video in English class can trigger students’ motivation to learn English and improve the learning process. This interesting and innovative media is believed to promote students’ engagement along the process. This descriptive study aims to describe the response of students related to their engagement to the use of English Learning video developed by using Camtasia Studio in second-grade students of elementary school. The data were collected through observations, interview and teacher’s questionnaire. The result reveals that using technology-based media in classroom is really appropriate to increase students’ motivation and learning activeness to get a better teaching and learning process. Students and teacher gave positive responses toward the media and it was categorized into ‘Excellent’ media in which it was interesting and fulfilled the needs of second-grade students. Further, it was suggested for the next research to conduct the study in different grade.

Abstract

Pada hasil observasi mata pelajaran Tata Hidang terlihat bahwa kreatiivitas belajar dan hasil belajar siswa masih rendah. Padahal jika di telaah lagi, kreativitas belajar dan hasil belajar merupakan dua komponen yang saling berhubungan, sebab dituntut adanya kreativitas belajar supaya tercapainya hasil belajar yang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kreativitas dan hasil belajar melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture pada mata pelajaran tata hidang. Jenis penelitian ini eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimental design), desain penelitian eksperimen ini adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik sampling yaitu total sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI Kuliner 3 dan XI Kuliner 4 di SMK Pratama Widya Mandala Badung yang berjumlah 76 orang. Dengan teknik analisis yaitu Analisis yang digunakan untuk uji hipotesis penelitian yaitu uji beda atau uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Terdapat perbedaan kreativitas melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture pada mata pelajaran Tata Hidang. Sehingga hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Dalam kelas XI di SMK Pratama Widya Mandala Badung, kreativitas siswa telah berkembang pesat melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture dalam pembelajaran Tata Hidang. Dengan memanfaatkan gambar-gambar yang menggambarkan langkah-langkah pelipatan serbet, siswa telah menemukan cara baru untuk mengekspresikan ide-ide dan konsep-konsep dalam konteks kuliner terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture pada mata pelajaran Tata Hidang. Sehingga hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Pada kelas XI di SMK Pratama Widya Mandala Badung, penerapan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture dalam mata pelajaran Tata Hidang telah menghasilkan beragam perubahan positif dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satunya adalah peningkatan keterampilan visual siswa melalui gambaran langkah-langkah pelipatan serbet secara visual. Ini membantu siswa memahami konsep dengan lebih baik dan meningkatkan daya ingat mereka. Selain itu, model ini juga mendorong kreativitas siswa dalam menyajikan gambar-gambar dengan cara yang menarik.
