Abstract

Abstract

Prematurity is the primary cause of newborn mortality due to complications. Good sleep quality is essential to prevent delay development. Low sucking reflex will cause aspiration and effected to nutrition absorption. However, preterm baby experienced stress would influence birth weight and deep sleep. One of the non-pharmacological intervention is using mother voice. Objective. The purpose of this study was to determine to determine the effect of mother voice toward baby weight and duration of deep sleep among premature infant Methods: This research is a quasi-experiment with a two-group pre-test and post-test design approach using control and intervention groups. The instrument used in this study is form observation, weight digital record and mobile phone. Data analysis using Independent Sample T-Test Results: There is no statistically significant difference of demographic data between the two groups' intervention and control of preterm babies (p-value > 0.005). There is an increase of baby weight and the duration of deep sleep at two groups of intervention and control. There is statistical significant difference in post-test toward weight and deep sleep duration among two group (p-value = 0.00) Conclusion Nurses can enhance their quality and ability to administer developmental care for premature babies, particularly through music therapy, which includes mother's voice intervention

Abstract

Background: First Aid in emergency situations is an essential skill that nursing students must possess. Adequate knowledge of First Aid is crucial in saving lives and preventing the worsening of patients’ conditions. However, many students still have suboptimal levels of First Aid knowledge. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of simulation-based learning on First Aid knowledge in emergency situations among nursing students at STIKES Estu Utomo. Method: This research used a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group. A total of 43 nursing students were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using paired t-test. Results: Before the intervention, the average knowledge score was 62.74 ± 9.446. After simulation-based learning, the average score increased to 77.29 ± 7.717, with a mean difference of 14.559 ± 1.408. The paired t-test showed a significant difference with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), and the 95% confidence interval ranged from 11.694 to 17.423. Conclusion: Simulation-based learning is proven effective in increasing nursing students’ knowledge of First Aid in emergency situations. It is recommended that this method be implemented in nursing education curricula to enhance students’ readiness in responding to emergencies professionally

Abstract

Background: The proficiency of community health workers in grasping health- related concepts serves as the bedrock for successful disease prevention and health promotion initiatives. Regrettably, insufficient training programs and limited informational resources often compromise their effectiveness in delivering primary healthcare services. Objective: This quantitative investigation examines the efficacy of health education workshops in enhancing community health volunteers' comprehension of targeted medical subjects. Methods: The study employed a quasi-experimental design featuring pre- and post-intervention assessments within a single test group. Thirty certified community health workers participated in the trial, receiving specialized training through instructional seminars complemented by interactive learning sessions. Participant knowledge levels were quantitatively measured using validated questionnaires before and after the intervention, with subsequent data processing conducted through nonparametric statistical analysis. Results: Participant demographics: Majority (80%) completed secondary education, with homemakers constituting 63% of the cohort. Baseline evaluation: Moderate understanding (70%), limited comprehension (30%), with no participants demonstrating complete mastery. Post-intervention results: Significant knowledge improvement with 80% achieving mastery and 20% showing intermediate understanding. Statistical analysis confirmed intervention effectiveness (p<0.001). Conclusion: The educational initiative demonstrated measurable success in upgrading health volunteers' expertise. Sustainable implementation of similar training programs is recommended to continually enhance service delivery capabilities in community healthcare settings.
