Background : As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia implemented various policies to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19, starting from large-scale social restrictions, quarantines, and even lockdowns. Without exception, schools were also closed. These conditions affect people psychologically, including levels of depression, anxiety, and stress in students. The aim of this study is to determine profile and factors associated with depression, anxiety, and stress in Indonesian people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods : A cross-sectional study among students in Indonesia was conducted to determine depression, anxiety, and stress levels in adolescents based on their sociodemographic characters. The DASS-21 questionnaire was distributed online. Results : A total of 913 people participated from all provinces in Indonesia. Depression, anxiety, and stress were found in 43.5%, 43.3%, 25.2%, respectively. The severity of depression was significantly associated with age (p<0.001), gender(p=0.003), and region(p=0.039). Adults (25-55) are 4.6 times odds more likely to have depression than adolescent during pandemic (OR=4.641, 95% CI=2.053-10.491). The severity of anxiety was significantly associated with age (p=0.002), gender(p<0.001), education (p=0.004) and region(p=0.004). The severity of stress was significantly associated with gender (p<0.001) and education (p=0.018).Conclusion : Depression, anxiety and stress quite common found in Indonesian during COVID-19 pandemic. Several sociodemographic factors were associated with depression, anxiety and stress among Indonesia

Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 outbreak that started in Wuhan, China in December 2019 has become a global pandemic. The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a change in the university learning system into online learning. Online learning that occurs during the COVID-19 pandemic can have an indirect impact on the mental health of students, one of which is depression. Depression that occurs in online learning can be affected by the duration of online learning.Aim: This study is conducted to determine the relationship between online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and symptoms of depression in medical students of Pelita Harapan University.Method: This study used a cross-sectional study to be conducted on 161 students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan. Sampling will use the purposive sampling method. Collecting data using a questionnaire about the duration of online learning and using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for depression symptoms. The results of this study were analyzed using chi-square analysis with data processing using SPSS 26.Results: There were 161 samples that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study. The majority of the sample was female (52.8%), came from the 2018 class (46.0%), 20 years old (50.3%), residing outside the Greater Jakarta area (57.8%), doing more online learning than 6 hours (57.8%) and experienced mild depression (53.4%). The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the duration of online learning and symptoms of depression (OR 1.273; 95%CI (0.669-2.421); p = 0.565).Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between the duration of online learning and symptoms of depression. Further studies with large samples and randomized sampling are required to minimize biases in future studies.

Abstract

Introduction: 47.8% of women worldwide experience symptoms of premenstrual syndrome and 20% of women experience symptoms that are severe enough to interfere with daily activities. This occurs during the last 14 days of the menstrual cycle or luteal phase, and it is caused by hormonal fluctuations.Aim: This study is going to be conducted to determine the relationship between high fiber diet and the severity of premenstrual syndrome in adolescents.Method: This study used a comparative analytic categorical study with two unpaired categories with a cross-sectional study design. The research sample is female students at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Pelita Harapan who met the inclusion criteria of at least 74 samples by judgmental sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire in the form of a Premenstrual Symptom Scale, Esitimated Food Record and Perceived Stress Scale with the the chi-square method, and data analysis using SPSS 24.0.Results: There were 85 samples that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study. The majority of the sample came from the 2018 class (64.7%), 20 years old (61.2%), experiencing moderate stress (61.2%), and have normal body mass index (72.9%). Background: Breakfast is an activity of eating and drinking that usually takes place after waking up until 9 A.M. and can fulfill 20-25% of daily nutritional needs. Unsupervised skipping breakfast can affect women's ovarian and uterus dysfunction. Dysmenorrhea is one of the diseases that can reduce productivity and quality of life in women. Previous studies have found a high incidence of dysmenorrhea in female college students who didn't have breakfast. Currently, there isn't much data regarding the association between breakfast and dysmenorrhea in female college students in Indonesia.Aim: The aim of this study is to discover the association between breakfast and dysmenorrhea in female college students of Faculty of Medicine at Pelita Harapan University.Methodology: This study is an unpaired analytical comparative categoric design study with a cross-sectional method. Data was collected from 60 college students of Faculty of Medicine at Pelita Harapan University using breakfast questionnaire, WaLLID score for dysmenorrhea, IPAQ-SF and PSS-10 were used to control the confounding variables. The data was analyzed using SPSS 23.Results: Among 60 samples were collected, the majority of female college students didn't have breakfast habit by 55%. There are 76.7% of female students who suffer dysmenorrhea, 91.7% have moderate and severe stress levels, 85% have high physical activity, and 70% of female college students have normal nutritional status. The results of the analysis showed that the p value > 0.05 for the association between breakfast with dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: There is no significant association between breakfast and dysmenorrhea.
