Abstract

The concept of logos in the Christian faith does not only refer to theological ideas but also touches on the issue of the Christian worldview which as a whole refers to Christ as its centrality. The concept is suspected of being a form of logocentrism (grand narrative) that forms polarization and negation of the external world. Through deconstruction readings, contemporary cultural critics criticize Christian logocentrism. The purpose of reading deconstruction is to change the general understanding, both in philosophy, science, and Christian theology strategies regarding logos with two critical approaches. First, criticizing semantics in terms of logos and second, criticizing the politics of the text through which ideology is constructed and has implications for socio-cultural subordination. This article analyzes and reconstructs logos theology and christology in an attempt to address the challenges of deconstruction. The method used by the writer is descriptive analysis and literature review. The results showed that the concept of Christian logos theology was different from Greek philosophy. In relation to the theory of deconstruction, the bivalence system which is the pattern of the semantic system of logos theology provides strict limits on the meaning system so that the assumptions of deconstruction criticism are irrelevant. Meanwhile, the logos christology approach in biblical studies provides answers to the issue of logocentrism in both theological, literary and Christian epistemological contexts. Abstrak Konsep logos dalam iman Kristen tidak hanya mengacu pada gagasan teologis namun juga menyinggung persoalan wawasan dunia Kristen yang secara keseluruan merujuk pada Kristus sebagai sentralitasnya. Konsep tersebut dicurigai sebagai bentuk logosentrisme (narasi besar) yang membentuk polarisasi dan negasi terhadap dunia eksternal. Melalui pembacaan dekonstruksi, kritikus budaya kontemporer mengkritisi logosentrisme Kristen. Tujuan pembacaan dekonstruksi untuk merombak pemahaman umum, baik dalam strategi filsafat, sains, maupun teologi Kristen mengenai logos dengan dua pendekatan kritis. Pertama, mengkritisi semantik pada terma logos dan kedua, mengkritisi politik teks yang melaluinya ideologi dikonstruksikan dan berimplikasi terhadap subordinasi sosial budaya. Artikel ini menganalisis dan merekonstruksi ulang teologi dan kristologi logos dalam usaha untuk menjawab tantangan dekonstruksi. Metode yang dugunakan penulis deskriptif analisis dan kajian literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsep teologi logos Kristen berbeda dengan filsafat Yunani. Dalam kaitannya dengan teori dekonstruksi, sistem bivalensi yang menjadi pola sistem semantik teologi logos memberikan batasan tegas pada sistem makna sehingga asumsi kritik dekonstruksi tidak relevan. Sementara pendekatan kristologi logos dalam kajian biblika memberikan jawaban terhadap isu logosentrisme baik dalam konteks teologis, sastra maupun epistemologi Kristen. Kata Kunci: Kristologi. Abstract

The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic that has never subsided, raises various questions for Pentecostal-Charismatics regarding the concept of God's power and specifically regarding the existence of miraculous gifts of healing. In the context of Christianity, the view of the existence of miracles of healing is divided into two views which are pro and contra. This paper departs from the controversial side especially during this pandemic situation and seeks to present a comprehensive Pentecostal-Charismatic theological perspective. The methodological approach used is descriptive qualitative. The literature study approach is used to analyze the variety of literature related to miracles of healing, as well as brief hermeneutic studies on relevant biblical texts. The results of this study indicate the difference in conceptual framework between Pentecostal-Charismatic theology regarding miracles of healing, where the difference is not only centered on the conceptual side but also backwards on the study of hermeneutics resulting in different responses in practical theological praxis in the life of the congregation today.AbstrakKondisi pandemic covid-19 yang tak kunjung mereda, menghantarkan beragam pertanyaan bagi kalangan Pentakosta-Kharismatik perihal konsep kuasa Allah dan secara khusus mengenai eksistensi karunia mukjizat kesembuhan. Dalam konteks kekristenan, padangan mengenai eksistensi mukjizat kesembuhan terbagi dalam dua pandangan yang pro dan kontra. Tulisan ini bertolak dari sisi kontroversial terutama ditengah situasi pandemic ini serta berusaha untuk menyajikan kerangka pandangan teologi Pentakosta-Kharismatik yang komprehensif. Pendekatan metodologi yang digunakna adalah kualitiatif deskriptif. Pendekatan studi kepustakaan digunakan untuk menganalisa ragam literatur yang berkaitan dengan mukjizat kesembuhan, serta kajian hermeneutik singkat pada teks-teks Alkitab yang relevan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan kerangka konseptual antara teologi Pentakosta-Kharismatik mengenai mukjizat kesembuhan, dimana perbedaan tersebut bukan hanya berpusat pada sisi konseptualnya namun juga mundur ke belakang pada kajian hermeneutikanya sehingga menghasilkan respons yang berbeda dalam praksis teologi praktika dalam kehidupan jemaat saat ini.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the impact of Derrida's theory of deconstruction in relation to the application of contemporary Christian hermeneutics as well as an attempt at hermeneutical repositioning. The methodological approach used in this paper is descriptive qualitative with instruments of literature study, comparison and textual analysis. Concretely, critical analysis is carried out in stages of deconstruction theory, various phenomena of contemporary Christian hermeneutics, then presents the idea of Christian hermeneutics as a comparative model and discourse criticism. Meanwhile, the body of the writing is divided into three parts according to the analysis pattern. First, it specifically examines Derrida's theory of deconstruction. Second, it is an analysis of several forms of hermeneutic phenomena and discourse of Christian theology which are currently developing. Third, reviewing the Christian hermeneutic discourse from the evangelical perspective in an effort to reposition, criticize, and test discourse on the contemporary worldview. Through this research, distortions were found in hermeneutic studies and contemporary Christian discourse with several forms of deconstruction approaches. The three explicit patterns used are the hermeneutic application of binary negation to conservative theological discourse, the explicit emphasis on the textual eisegesis model and the post-structuralism approach to interpretation..Key words: Dekonstruksi, hermeneutika, oposisi biner, semantic, interpretasi biblis

Abstract

Human culture and its components move dynamically according to the trend of philosophical ideas that drive it. The existence of the church, which is also the subject and object of culture, is also conditioned on it. In the present context, postmodern philosophy and culture pose severe challenges to the church in two categories: it's cultural product components and philosophical ideas. These two issues are the subject of research that the author examines in this article to describe the challenges of postmodern culture and philosophy for the church. The research method used by the author is descriptive qualitative, with the study of primary and secondary data sources using literature studies and phenomenal hermeneutics. The results of this study indicate that postmodern philosophy and culture have seriously impacted the church today. Postmodern philosophical ideas radically reject claims of absolute truth and challenge the nature of language and the principles of traditional Christian hermeneutics. Meanwhile, its cultural products affect the practical application of church services to the lifestyle of God's people, both positively and negatively.

Abstract

Abstract The dogmatic approach to theology in the modern era, the relationship between philosophy and theology is an important part that supports each other in a constructive direction. This is different when entering the postmodern era with its literary criticism. The foundation of dogmatic theology and philosophy based on language becomes a very radical criticism space by Derrida's deconstruction. Deconstructive criticism then has an impact on breaking logocentrism and metanarratives in all aspects so as to overhaul the structure of philosophy (logos) and dogmatic theology (Logos). This article seeks to read deconstruction criticism of philosophical and theological discourse, analyze its implications for dogmatic theology, then provide an apologetic response to deconstruction. The method used is descriptive qualitative by carefully analyzing various data from the "theory" of deconstruction and its implications. The findings of this article show that deconstruction philosophically brings a very radical language discourse space towards linguistic agnosticism. While at the theological level, deconstruction is an attempt to "kill" God starting from overhauling language as an instrument of theological discourse. It is a rejection of God's presence, power and authority expressed through biblical texts.

Abstract

Konseling pastoral secara umum mempertahankan gagasan konvensional dengan pendekatan yang berpusat pada Alkitab (Allah). Pola tersebut merupakan model induktif dari kebenaran Allah menuju aplikasi praktisnya. Namun pengembangan konseling pastoral cenderung berhadapan dengan kemandekan sebagai akibat dari pola yang monoton. Di lain sisi, metode konseling sekuler cenderung lebih dinamis dan beragam. Salah satunya adalah model konseling logoterapi dari Viktor Emil Frankl. Model logoterapi Frankl sepintas cukup dekat dengan model konseling religius karena menempatkan spiritualitas sebagai lokusnya. Artikel ini hendak melakukan kajian komparasi di antara kedua pendekatan kemudian menarik simpulan mengenai kemungkinan sintesis teori konseling alternatif yang dapat juga diterapkan pada konseling pastoral. Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis komparatif dan konstruktif. Data penelitian disadur dari karya-karya Frankl, konseling pastoral dan juga beberapa penelitian yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dalam beberapa aspek model logoterapi Frankl memiliki ruang lingkup yang sama dengan konseling pastoral dan dapat dikembangkan, khususnya tekanan pada terapi makna, kebebasan dan tanggung jawab individu. Ketiga komponen eksistensial ini dapat disintesiskan pada model konseling pastoral. Tetapi pada unsur psikoterapi eksistensialisme, antropologi dan filosofinya, ada perbedaan signifikan sehingga perlu kajian yang lebih lanjut. Dengan demikian usaha sintesis pada konseling pastoral terbatas pada beberapa komponen yang sejalan dan dapat digunakan secara komplimentaris pada konseling pastoral.

Abstract

Abstract. Logotherapy is one of the third-generation counseling and psychotherapy models from the Vienna psychotherapy school. Viktor Emil Frankl developed the model with an existential analysis approach that emphasizes the spirituality of meaning as its foundation. Because his approach is quite "close" to the religious counseling model, there are currently several synthesis efforts that have been carried out. This study aimed to conduct an integrative study to propose a synthesis theory, namely Existential Logo[s]therapy. This study used descriptive analysis with a constructive approach that refers to Frankl's works and several other relevant studies. As a result, the integrative model of Existential Logo[s]therapy positively contributes to the development of pastoral counseling as an alternative method characterized by theological-philosophical reflection, especially those related to the crisis of meaning and purpose in life.Abstrak. Logoterapi merupakan salah satu model konseling dan psikoterapi generasi ketiga dari mazhab psikoterapi Wina. Viktor Emil Frankl mengembangkan model tersebut dengan pendekatan analisis eksistensial yang menekankan pada spiritualitas makna sebagai landasannya. Karena pendekatannya yang cukup “dekat” dengan model konseling religius, maka saat ini terdapat beberapa usaha sintesis yang telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan kajian integratif untuk mengusulkan teori sintesis, yaitu Logo[s]terapi Eksistensial. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan konstruktif yang mengacu pada karya-karya Frankl serta beberapa penelitian lain yang relevan. Hasilnya, model integratif Logo[s]terapi Eksistensial secara positif memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan konseling pastoral sebagai metode alternatif bercirikan refleksi teologi-filosofis, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan krisis makna serta tujuan hidup.
