Abstract

Metropolitan cities in Southeast Asia face significant challenges in achieving sustainable development amidst rapid urban growth. Governance innovations, leveraging smart city technologies, have emerged as potential solutions to address resource management issues and improve urban environmental quality. These technologies offer opportunities to improve efficiency and transparency in urban governance, but their implementation faces challenges such as infrastructure readiness and multi-stakeholder collaboration. This study aims to explore the impact of smart city technologies on sustainable development and evaluate the challenges and opportunities faced in their implementation in metropolitan cities in Southeast Asia. The research method used is a qualitative approach by collecting data from literature studies and relevant previous research. The collected data will be processed to identify patterns and relationships between smart city technologies and urban management. The results show that smart city technologies have significant potential in reducing carbon emissions, improving environmental quality, and increasing socio-economic welfare. However, the success of their implementation depends on the readiness of infrastructure and the collaborative capabilities of the government, private sector, and communities. Challenges such as limited telecommunication networks and financing need to be overcome so that the benefits of the technology can be optimally felt. Inclusive and sustainable implementation is essential to achieving sustainable development goals. Therefore, careful collaboration and planning are needed to ensure that smart city technologies can contribute positively to the growth of metropolitan cities in Southeast Asia.gb777

Abstract

The research is motivated by the essential role of transparency in good governance, especially in village development, where public access to information ensures accountability and community participation. Despite the legal framework established by Indonesia’s Public Information Disclosure Law (UU KIP No. 14/2008), many villages, including Pattuku Limpoe, still face significant challenges in implementing effective information disclosure due to technological and resource constraints. This study aims to assess the extent of public information disclosure in village development and identify factors influencing the disclosure process in Pattuku Limpoe Village, Lappariaja District, Bone Regency. A qualitative approach was used to describe community experiences related to the implementation of village development. Data collection methods included direct observation of relevant events, interviews with key informants to gather primary data, and document analysis to review regulations and other materials related to the development process. The findings show that information disclosure in village development has not been fully achieved. The absence of an electronic system, such as a village website, limits the dissemination of information to the public. Furthermore, the lack of trained human resources in information and communication technology further hampers effective public information disclosure. These constraints highlight the need for improved technological infrastructure and capacity building among village officials to enhance transparency and accountability in village governance, in line with public policy objectives and the mandates of UU KIP No. 14/2008.

Abstract

Community service is an activity carried out as a form of student service to the community in order to provide learning experiences about community development and real work experience to achieve community welfare. Providing students with experiences about the conditions that exist in the community and how to live in the community by implementing the disciplines they have learned through lectures can also improve relations between universities and sub-district governments, village governments, and the community directly. Meanwhile, for the community, the presence of KKN students will provide guidance in addressing various issues and challenges faced, such as in the fields of education, health, employment, and the environment
