Abstract

ABSTRACT COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. This disease is designated as a pandemic because it has spread throughout the world. In an effort to break the chain of distribution, the government issued a new policy, namely replacing teaching and learning activities using the online system. Online learning using the dense zoom meeting application can result in physical and psychological fatigue which is called zoom fatigue. However, not many people know how to prevent and overcome them. Counseling is held in order to provide information to the public on how to prevent and overcome zoom fatigue during the pandemic. The steps used are to provide material and pre-test and post-test. This aims to determine the knowledge of the counseling participants on how to prevent and overcome zoom fatigue during the pandemic. The comparison of the average correct answers for the pre-test was 75.42% and the post-test was 86.5%. The results obtained were assessed using normality and homogeneity tests and paired t-test, obtained p value <0.005. This shows an increase in knowledge after the material given by the presenter. Therefore, this outreach activity succeeded in increasing knowledge about how to prevent and overcome zoom fatigue during the pandemic.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of the countries in the world with an increasing number of HIV infections in recent years, with a profile similar to countries with concentrated epidemics. The government's target of examination, treatment and achievement of virus suppression of 95% has not been achieved. The reasons are varied, but the stigma and discrimination that still exist is one of the contributing factors. The UMS Faculty of Medicine and PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital work together to carry out community service in order to support the government's program to eradicate HIV. One of these joint activities is a workshop for hospital employees, education for Muhammadiyah cadres and lay people. This activity is proven to increase the knowledge of hospital employees where the pretest score is 115 to 138 (scale value 150). Counseling of cadres and lay people answered questions from participants to provide true facts and correct false myths. The author hope that this activity can be carried out routinely to increase the achievement of HIV diagnosis and HIV therapy rates to reduce the rate of transmission, especially in vulnerable groups of women, adolescents and newborns.

Abstract

The incidence of leptospirosis is increasing globally, and developing countries are no exception. Leptospirosis cases are called the tip of the iceberg phenomenon, even though misdiagnosis, underdiagnosis, and underreporting still occur in health services. Thus, it leads to delays in leptospirosis treatment and may result in increased mortality rate from severe leptospirosis infection (Weil's disease). This study was to establish an accurate diagnosis by optimizing the Faine criteria. This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach to examine faine criteria and laboratory examinations. We collected data from medical records from the Karanganyar General Hospital and the PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta Hospital. We processed the data using SPSS version 25. The total number of samples was 42. They were divided into women (19%) and men (81%). Based on the definition category of leptospirosis cases, there were 2.4% probable group (score criteria faine part A 20-25) and 97.6% not-probable group (score criteria faine part A <20). Bivariate analysis (Chi-Square test) showed that there was no significant correlation between Faine Part A criteria and serological tests in both groups (p=0.874) as well as Hb (p=0.522), thrombocytopenia (p=0.265), leukocytosis (p=0.197), and neutrophilia (p=0.710). Loss of sodium and potassium didn’t show significant data (hyponatremia p=0.174; hypokalemia p=0.311; hypocalcemia p=0.131) not as in tropical diseases. The approach to diagnosis of leptospirosis cannot be performed using only Part A criteria, Faine, even though the patient was included in the probable definition category, even though the Faine Part A criteria score is 20-25 or ≥26.
