Abstract

This research is motivated by the excessive use of smartphones among 11th-grade students at SMAN 6 Kota Bengkulu, which has led to indications of phubbing behavior among students. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of group counseling services using self-management techniques to reduce phubbing behavior in students. This study employs an experimental method with a two-group pre-test post-test control group design. The population of this study consists of 169 students, with a sample of 10 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis technique used is the t-test (paired sample t-test). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of group counseling services using self-management techniques in reducing students' phubbing behavior. Abstract

Emotional regulation is a crucial skill for students in dealing with academic and social pressures. However, many students still struggle to manage their emotions effectively. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using the expressive writing technique in improving emotional regulation among junior high school students. The research employed a quantitative method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 10 students divided into two groups: experimental and control. The experimental group received group counseling with the expressive writing technique, while the control group participated in group counseling without the technique. Data were collected using an emotional regulation scale administered before and after the intervention and analyzed using an Independent Sample T-test. The results showed a significant improvement in emotional regulation in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that group counseling with expressive writing is an effective strategy to help students manage their emotions. Therefore, this technique can be recommended as an alternative intervention for school counselors to enhance students’ emotional well-being. Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to examine the effect of group counseling services using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) approach in reducing the level of insecurity among students who experienced body shaming at the junior high school level. The research employed an experimental method with a two-group pre-test post-test design. The population consisted of 71 students, and the sample included 10 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through an insecurity questionnaire based on a Likert scale, and analyzed using a t-test. The t-test results showed a significant difference in insecurity levels before and after the intervention, indicating that group counseling with the REBT approach had an effect in reducing students’ insecurity. Future research is recommended to use a larger sample to improve the generalizability of the findings. Keywords: insecurity, group counseling, rational emotive behaviour therapy approach

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance services using simulation game techniques in reducing students' learning burnout. The research employed a quantitative experimental method with a two-group pretest-posttest control design. The subjects consisted of 50 students from SMK N 4 Kota Bengkulu, who were divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 25 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results showed a t-value of 36.70 with a significance value (2-tailed) of .000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant difference in learning burnout levels between the experimental and control groups. These findings suggest that classical guidance services using simulation game techniques are effective in reducing students' learning burnout.
