Abstract

This study aims to describe the career well-being of school counselors in Indonesia. This study was conducted quantitatively using a quantitative descriptive analysis. The population of this study was all school counselors in Indonesia. The selection of population was made by the researchers because there is no standard Career well-being Scale in the Indonesian context. The sample consisted of 1,000 school counselors throughout Indonesia, selected using simple random sampling technique. The data was collected using the Career Well-Being Scale based on Coetzee’s theory. The study began with the development of the Career Well-Being Scale, followed by the distribution of the scale through Google Form, data collection, and data analysis. Data analysis was performed using percentage statistical formula. The results showed that the difference in career well-being of school counselors had a Sig value of 0.00. Obtaining a Sig value < 0.05 indicates that there is a significant difference in the career well-being of school counselors with four different educational qualifications. Educational qualifications influence the career well-being of Indonesian school counselors. School counselors with a master’s degree and a PPG certification have higher career well-being than school counselors with a bachelor’s degree

Abstract

The aim of the research is to determine the self-defense mechanisms that are often and very rarely used by students at SMKN 1 Makassar when they are in situations of anxiety, conflict and frustration. The approach used is a quantitative approach. The population in the study was 60 students at SMKN 1 Makassar. The research instrument in this study used a psychological scale of adolescent self-defense mechanisms. The psychological scale consists of 10 statements which are divided into 7 indicators including Repression, Sublimation, Projection, Displacement, Rationalization, Reaction Formation, Regression. These forms of self-defense mechanisms are a concept from the psychoanalytic approach. Sigmund Freud explained that when individuals are in a situation of conflict, feelings of anxiety and frustration, to reduce this the individual uses self-defense mechanisms. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the self-defense mechanism that is often used by students at SMKN 1 Makassar when they are in a state of conflict, anxiety and frustration is repression. Meanwhile, a form of self-defense mechanism that is rarely used is displacement._________________________________________________________________Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui mekanisme pertahanan diri yang sering dilakukan dan sangat jarang dilakukan oleh peserta didik di SMKN 1 Makassar ketika dalam situasi cemas, konflik, dan merasa frustrasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu 60 peserta didik di SMKN 1 Makassar. Instrumen penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala psikologis mekanisme pertahanan diri remaja. Skala psikologis terdiri dari 10 pernyataan yang terbagi menjadi 7 indikator diantaranya Represi, Sublimasi, Proyeksi, Displacement, Rasionalisasi, Reaksi Formasi, Regresi. Bentuk-bentuk mekanisme pertahahan diri ini merupakan konsep dari pendekatan psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud menjelaskan bahwa ketika individu berada dalam situasi konflik, perasaan cemas, dan frustrasi maka untuk mereduksi hal tersebut individu melakukan mekanisme pertahanan diri. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mekanisme pertahanan diri yang sering dilakukan oleh peserta didik di SMKN 1 Makassar ketika berada dalam kondisi konflk, cemas, dan frustrasi ialah represi. Sementara bentuk mekanisme pertahanan diri yang jarang dilakukan yaitu displacement.
