Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the social changes in the community in Temajuk Village after the existence of 24-hour electricity from the social, economic, and cultural aspects. The theory used in this study is the Theory of the Dimension of Social Change (Himes and Moore). The method used in this study is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The informants of this research were determined using the purposive sampling technique according to the criteria that had been determined, namely inn owners, homemakers who sell online, the general public, village heads, village officials, and PLN technical supervisors. The data analysis technique used is an analysis model from Miles and Huberman that goes through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are, first, the structural dimension related to the economic aspects of the community. There is a change in the role/emergence of a new role for homemakers to become online traders and changes in access to the activities of inn owners by utilizing 24-hour electricity facilitated by PT PLN to increase income. Both dimensions relate to cultural changes in children's language and habits. The use of language from social media began to grow, and traditional game habits began to be abandoned. The three interactional dimensions are related to social aspects, namely community interaction, which is the reduction of interaction intimacy in the family and the closer interaction between communities in Temajuk Village.

Abstract

Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pemetaan sosial, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), sosialisasi literasi media, diskusi partisipatif, serta praktik sosial berupa gotong royong masyarakat. Resilient Village Against Political Disinformation: Media Literacy Assistance to Ensure Peaceful Elections in Post-Conflict Areas in Sentebang Village, Sambas Regency Abstract Sentebang Village, Jawai District, Sambas Regency, is a post-conflict area vulnerable to social polarization and political disinformation during electoral periods. Such conditions may trigger renewed social tensions if communities lack the capacity to critically assess and manage political information. This community service program aimed to enhance political media literacy and strengthen public awareness of the importance of peaceful and democratic elections. The program employed a Participatory Media and Political Literacy Empowerment (PMPLE) approach involving 20 participants representing community leaders, religious leaders, youth groups, women, and village officials. Activities included social mapping, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), media literacy socialization, participatory discussions, and community-based social practices through collective community service activities. The results indicated improved participant understanding of the risks of political disinformation, the importance of information verification, and the role of citizens in maintaining social stability during democratic processes. Survey findings revealed strong support for fair and honest elections (mean score = 4.50), rejection of identity-based politics (4.60), and a preference for evaluating candidates based on performance and policy programs (4.85). Participants also demonstrated relatively low acceptance of vote-buying practices and a low tendency toward post-election conflict. Overall, the program successfully strengthened community media literacy, promoted democratic political awareness, and contributed to a more peaceful and cohesive social environment in a post-conflict community
