Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of students who are still confused in deciding their career aspirations towards work or college, the existence of students where they will continue their careers after graduating from high school education. This study aims to determine the profile of the career aspirations of students and their implications for career guidance services at SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan in terms of: 1) Aspects of Intention. 2) Attitude Aspect. 3) Behavioral Aspect This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was class XII students, totaling 132 students. The sampling technique was carried out using a purposive random sampling technique, namely as many as 57 students who became the research sample. The analysis used in this research is the percentage. The results of this study on the profile of the career aspirations of students and their implications for career guidance services at SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan show: 1) Career aspirations seen from the aspect of intention are in many categories. 2) Career aspirations seen from the attitude aspect are in many categories. 3) Career aspirations seen from the behavioral aspect are in many categories. This research is recommended for students to consult with BK teachers about career planning that will be taken.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to understand the multifaceted roles of parents in assisting children's learning at home, prompted by the observation that some parents lack involvement or neglect their children's academic performance. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved two parents as key informants and four children as additional informants. Data were collected through interviews and observations to gain in-depth insights into parental roles. The findings reveal that parents play diverse roles in supporting children's learning, acting as teachers at home who guide and help children understand learning materials, facilitators who provide learning resources like school supplies, motivators who offer encouragement and support, and influencers or directors who guide the development of children's talents and interests. Although some parents face challenges in maintaining consistent involvement or fully understanding their children's talents and interests, this study emphasizes the importance of active parental involvement in supporting children's learning at home as educators, resource providers, motivators, and mentors to optimally develop children's potential.

Abstract

Kampung Balai Sinayan, Nagari Balai Sinayan Lumpo Kecamatan IV Jurai Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan memiliki warga yang berada pada rentang umur 45-60 tahun keatas. Warga lansia yang ada di Kampung Balai Sinayan ini memliki pemahaman yang kurang tetang persiapan memasuki masa dewasa akhir. Lansia tidak memahami apa yang harus mereka persiapkan jika sudah berada pada rentang umur tersebut. Tujuan PKM ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemahaman Lansia tentang persiapan menghadapi hari tua dan memberikan edukasi persiapan menghadapi masa Lansia. Metode PKM dengan melakukan observasi dan wawancara awal secara langsung dengan mendatangi satu persatu rumah lansia sebanyak 20 orang. Selanjutnya memberikan materi/edukasi mengenai persiapan menghadapi masa lansia dengan cara presentasi dan diskusi. Hasil PKM yang diperoleh bahwa lansia belum ada 1). persiapan secara ekonomi untuk menghadapi hari tua, lansia hidup cukup menumpang dengan anak, saudara dan keluarga, Lansia menceritakan menurut mereka sudah ada makan dan tempat tinggal itu sudah lebih dari cukup. 2). Dari segi fisik dan kesehatan lansia tidak terlalu memikirkan tentang fisik dan kesehatan, jika mereka sakit cukup pergi kepuskesmas terdekat, kalau tidak cukup  dengan obat yang dibeli diwarung, tidak ada kontrol kesehatan secara rutin ke pusat kesehatan.

Abstract

This research is based on the existence of male students who tend to be more thoughtful in making decisions about career directions and the existence of female students who are still confused in determining career choices. The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) Describe the career planning of students reviewed from the male gender, 2) Describe the career planning of students reviewed from the female gender, 3) Examine the differences in career planning of students reviewed from the male and female gender. This research was conducted using a quantitative method with a comparative type. The population of this study is students in class XI F1 and F2 of SMA N 16 Padang for the 2023/2024 school year totaling 72 students consisting of 51 female students and 21 male students. This sampling technique was carried out with the Total sampling technique, which was as many as 72 students who were the research samples. And the analysis technique used is descriptive techniques and independent samples t test formula with the help of the SPSS for windows application version 20. The results of this study show that the difference in career planning of class XI students reviewed from gender at SMA N 16 Padang can be concluded as follows: 1) the career planning of students reviewed from the male gender is in the high category. 2) Students' career planning is reviewed from the female gender is in the high category. 3) There is a significant difference in the career planning of students from the male and female genders with a coefficient of 0.63 and a significant level of 0.28 Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the career planning of female students is higher than that of male students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of students who experience problems in adjusting themselves so that they experience obstacles and barriers and enter a new environment and situation. This study aims to see: 1). Student adjustment seen from the Knowledge and Self Insight Aspects, 2). Student adjustment seen from Self Objectifity and Self Acceptance, 3). Student adjustment seen from Self Development and Self Control and 4). Student adjustment seen from the Statisfaction Aspect. Profile of Guidance and Counseling Student Adjustment in 2023, Guidance and Counseling Study Program, West Sumatra PGRI University. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. With a population of guidance and counseling students in 2023 of 90 respondents. The sampling technique used is the random sampling technique where the sample is taken randomly with half of the specified population. So that the sample in this study amounted to 45 people. Using a questionnaire as a data collection tool using descriptive statistical analysis techniques in analyzing data. Based on the results of the research and data analysis that have been carried out, it was revealed that: 1). The adjustment of guidance and counseling students in 2023 is generally in the good criteria (56%). 2) Self-Knowledge and self-insight indicators have good criteria (51%), Self-Objectivity and Self-Acceptance indicators are in the good criteria (56%), Self-Development and Self-Control indicators are in the good criteria (53%) and Statisfaction is in the good criteria (40%). These results are recommended for Guidance and Counseling Students as input in making adjustments to the new environment in the future and becoming better for all the shortcomings that have been made.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of using the internet for non-academic activities (cyberloafing) during lectures, such as opening social media or watching videos, which students often do in response to academic stress. This study aims to 1) describe the level of academic stress of students, 2) describe cyberloafing behavior, and 3) test the relationship between academic stress and cyberloafing. Data were collected through a cyberloafing and academic stress questionnaire that was tested for validity, namely the validity of cyberloafing (r count = 0.861) and the validity of academic stress (r count = 0.726), as well as the reliability test with Cronbach's alpha for cyberloafing (α = 0.990) and academic stress (α = 0.966), and analyzed using percentage and correlation techniques. The results showed that: Academic stress in students was relatively high with a percentage of 39.47%, cyberloafing behavior was quite high with a percentage of 48.68%, and there was a significant relationship between academic stress and cyberloafing behavior, with a strong correlation (r = 0.61). These findings provide important insights for students to understand how academic stress triggers cyberloafing behavior, as well as for lecturers to develop more effective strategies for minimizing the negative impact of cyberloafing in the academic environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan mempertahankan keinginan belajar, keluar masuk kelas saat pembelajaran, tidak mengerjakan tugas tepat waktu, merasa terbebani, kehilangan minat belajar, terlambat mengumpulkan tugas sehingga menumpuk, bermain game saat pelajaran berlangsung, merasa jenuh akibat metode pembelajaran guru yang monoton, serta kurang fokus saat guru menerangkan materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Motivasi belajar peserta didik, 2) Burnout akademik peserta didik, 3) Hubungan motivasi belajar dengan burnout akademik peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskrptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMAN 1 Lubuk Sikaping yang berjumlah 399 orang peserta didik. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik lotting yang hasilnya yaitu sebanyak 71 peserta didik, dan menggunakan sebuah angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Motivasi belajar peserta didik berada pada kategori cukup tinggi, 2) Burnout akademik berada pada kategori rendah, dan 3) terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dan burnout akademik, dengan koefisien korelasi -0,619. Artinya, semakin tinggi motivasi belajar peserta didik, semakin rendah burnout akademik yang dialami, dan sebaliknya. Untuk itu direkomendasikan kepada Guru BK dan Guru Mata pelajaran untuk dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta dalam upaya mengurangi burnout akademik peserta didik melalui layanan klasikal dengan topik dan materi menarik tentang motivasi belajar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of poor peer social interaction in schools, which can have a negative impact on the formation of students' self-concept. Peer social interaction plays an important role in forming confidence, self-acceptance, and healthy social relationships. This study aims to describe: (1) the social interaction profile of peers, (2) the profile of self-concept, and (3) the influence of social interaction of peers on the self-concept of students. The type of research is quantitative with a correlational method. The research population was 70 people, with a simple random sampling technique so that 41 samples were obtained. The research instrument is in the form of a questionnaire, while the data analysis uses simple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) the social interaction of students' peers was in the poor category, (2) students' self-concept was in the poor category, and (3) there was a significant influence of social interaction of peers on self-concept by 94.7% with a very strong category. Based on these findings, BK teachers are advised to facilitate activities that increase students' social interaction, students are expected to build healthy relationships with peers, and schools need to create an environment conducive to students' social and personal development.
