Abstract

Background: Mental health literacy is important as the prevalence of mental health disorders increases, while access to information through digital media on the internet is becoming more widespread. With the different characteristics and patterns of internet consumption in each generation, the level of understanding of internet-based mental health information is expected to vary. This study aims to examine the differences in internet-based mental health literacy among the Baby Boomer, X, Y, and Z generations in Indonesia. Subjects and Method: This study uses a cross-sectional study method with an online survey involving 400 respondents from various generation groups in Indonesia. The independent variables were Baby Boomer, X, Y, and Z generations. The dependent variable was internet-based mental health literacy. Generational difference data was measured using a questionnaire and internet-based mental health literacy understanding was measured using a modified internet-based health literacy scale (eHEALS) questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis Test and the Mann-Whitney as the post hoc test. Results: The results of the study show that generation Z has a higher level of internet-based mental health literacy. The Kruskal-Wallis test shows that there is a statistically significant difference in internet-based mental health literacy between generations (p=0.025). The results of Mann-Whitney show that internet-based mental health literacy of baby boomers vs. generation X (p= 0.006) and baby boomers vs. generation Z (p=0.005) is significantly different. Conclusion: There are significant differences in internet-based mental health literacy between generations. These findings emphasize the importance of an intergenerational approach to online mental health education programs, so that information can be accessed and understood properly by all age groups.

There are two main factors influencing anxiety: internal and external factors. However, other contributing factors include procrastination, self-efficacy, and self-control. Methods: This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. A stratified random sampling technique was employed, yielding a sample size of 83 respondents. The data collected were analyzed using the chi-square correlation test. Results: The prevalence of high procrastination levels was observed in 37 respondents (44.6%). Low self-efficacy was reported in 49 respondents (59%), and low self-control in 41 respondents (49.4%). A total of 47 respondents (56.6%) experienced anxiety. There was a significant association between procrastination and anxiety, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Similarly, significant associations were found between self-efficacy and anxiety (p-value = 0.000, p < 0.05) and between self-control and anxiety (p-value = 0.000, p < 0.05). Conclusions: Significant associations were observed between procrastination, self-efficacy, and self-control with anxiety among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Islam Al-Azhar.

Individuals with high self esteem tend to be more confident and are therefore more capable of effectively coping with various situations, which ultimately reduces the likelihood of social anxiety. Peer support represents a form of affection from peers in the form of attention, assistance, and appreciation, providing both physical and psychological comfort through social interaction. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting styles, self-esteem, and peer support on anxiety in 11th-grade students at SMAN 5 Mataram. This research utilized an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional method. The sample for this study included 92 students who were chosen through total random sampling. Data was gathered by using questionnaires to assess parenting styles, self-esteem, peer support, and anxiety levels. The analysis of the data was carried out with univariate and bivariate techniques employing the Spearman rank sum test. The findings indicated a notable correlation between authoritarian parenting styles and anxiety among 11th-grade students at SMAN 5 Mataram, with a p-value of 0.049 (p-value <0.05), signifying that Ho was rejected. There is a connection between self-esteem and anxiety in class XI students of SMAN 5 Mataram with a p-value of 0.005 (p-value <0.05), indicating that Ho is rejected. Additionally, there is a link between peer support and anxiety among class XI students of SMAN 5 Mataram with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05), which also means Ho is rejected.
