Abstract

During pregnancy, women must maintain nutritional intake to avoid anemia. Anemia occurs due to lack of iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12. To increase hemoglobin levels in the body, non-pharmacological therapy can be done by consuming red guava juice. This study aimed to determine the difference in hemoglobin levels before and after giving red guava to pregnant women with anemia. This study uses a pre-experimental method with a one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study was all pregnant women in second trimester with the incidence of anemia at Dina Maternity Home Medan. The sample in this study was 10 pregnant women with mild anemia taken by purposive sampling technique. Analysis of univariate and bivariate data was done by using paired sample T-test. The results showed that the hemoglobin level before administration of red guava juice had a mean value of 10.01 g/dl, while the hemoglobin level after administration of red guava juice had a mean value of 11.68 g/dl, with a mean difference of -1.670 and p-value 0.000. The conclusion of this study showed that there was a difference in the effect of giving red guava juice on hemoglobin levels in anemic pregnant women.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) bleeding while giving birth occupies the highest percentage of causes of maternal death (28%). The aim of the study was to determine the factors associated with post partum bleeding in mothers giving birth at the Pratama Ridho Clinic. The research design used in this study was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 54 mothers who experienced postpartum hemorrhage. The sampling technique uses total sampling where all of the population is taken as a sample of 54 people. Data analysis used univariate analysis (frequency distribution), bivariate (Chi-Square). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the age factor (p_value = 0.004), the parity factor (p_value = 0.001), the birth spacing factor (p_value = 0.002) and post-partum bleeding in women giving birth. In conclusion, the determinant factors for post partum bleeding in mothers giving birth at the Pratama Ridho Clinic are age, parity and pregnancy distance

Abstract

Breast milk Dam is caused by the discharge of milk that is not smooth, because the baby is not breastfeeding often enough, increased production, late breastfeeding, the relationship with the baby (bonding) is not good, and can also be due to restrictions on breastfeeding time. To determine the frequency distribution of knowledge, frequency of breastfeeding, frequency of breastfeeding position, frequency of the state of the nipple with the incidence of breast milk dams in post partum mothers DI Tiara Medistra Clinic. This type of research using analytical survey research methods with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all post partum mothers at the Tiara Medistra Clinic in July 2024 as many as 49 people. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling. Analysis in the study is univariate and bivariate analysis. Bend of breast milk occurred in 36.7% of respondents withinverted nipple shape, 30.6% of respondents with less knowledge, 40.8% of respondents with less frequency of breastfeeding and occurred in 26.5% of respondents with wrong breastfeeding position. There is a meaningful relationship between knowledge, frequency of breastfeeding, breastfeeding position and nipple shape with breast milk dams. It is expected that the research site, Tiara Medistra Clinic, will continue to improve the quality of health services and conduct health promotion.
