Abstract

Dalam setiap siklus pemesinan, khususnya pada sistem pembubutan, tingkat kehalusan merupakan salah satu penanda untuk mencapai akurasi benda kerja. Dalam kondisi itu, sifat pahat sangat esensial dalam menciptakan benda kerja dengan tingkat kekasaran yang masuk kategori akurasi presisi. Maka dari itu kekerasan mata pahat sangat berpengaruh, sehingga penulis berupaya membuat mata pahat bubut karbida menjadi lebih keras dari standarnya dengan metode pack carburizing. Mata pahat karbida merupakan mata pahat potong yang memiliki nilai kekerasan HRc = 90–93. Pada penelitian ini juga bertujuan menghasilkan pahat bubut dengan memanfaatkan kikir bekas praktikum kerja bangku dengan metode pack carburizing. Sehingga dapat dibandingkan nilai kekerasan dan pengamatan mikro hasil pack carburizing dari pahat karbida dan mata pahat dari kikir bekas sebelum dikarburasi dengan yang sudah dikarburasi. Sehingga didapatkan hasil nilai kekerasan mata pahat karbida sebelum karburasi adalah 1615,37 HV dan setelah karburasi 1746,94 HV. Sedangkan mata pahat dari kikir bekas sebelum karburasi adalah 564,7 HV dan setelah karburasi didapatkan nilai kekerasan vickers adalah 666,18 HV.

Abstract

Forklift merupakan alat yang berfungsi sebagai alat angkat dan angkut barang dari suatu tempat ketempat yang lain. Kebutuhan penggunaan forklift sangat banyak digunakan, terutama dalam proses pengangkutan barang yang dilakukan di bengkel kerja mekanik. Selain memudahkan pekerjaan manusia dalam memindahkan barang, penggunaan forklift dengan ukuran mini dapat mempermudah penggunaan diarea yang terbatas. Rancangan forklift mini pada penelitian ini menggunakan hollow ASTM A36. Penggerak aktuator linier digunakan untuk menggerakkan garpu kearah vertikal. Akumulator (accu) digunakan untuk menyuplai arus listrik pada aktuator linier. Forklift mini memiliki 4 buah roda yang terpasang pada rangka. Roda pada rangka forklift mempermudah forklift bermanuver di area yang terbatas. Dari hasil pengujian pada forklift mini, forklift mampu mengangkut beban maksimum hingga 100 kg dengan ketinggian angkat garpu 140 cm. Forklift mini memudahkan aktifitas angkat dan angkut yang dilakukan di bengkel kerja. Sehingga, rancangan forklift mini yang dihasilkan dapat membantu proses pemindahan barang yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara manual.

Abstract

The development of technology is increasingly advanced in this modern era, making human life inseparable from the use of machines. These machines must have various spare parts made from steel/iron. In addition, the machining production of these machines is made of steel / iron which can be corroded. Corrosion is a decrease in metal quality caused by the environment or chemicals and affects the condition of a material. The way to overcome the occurrence of corrosion in iron, especially engine spare parts and machining production results is by designing and making corrosion rate inhibitor storage automation as a storage medium for engine spare parts and machining production results. The design of this machine is carried out in several stages, namely planning, design, manufacture, and testing. This research was conducted with the parameters of the results of spraying lubrication and temperature control. From the results of experiments that have been carried out, this storage automation is able to spray lubrication in accordance with the timing that has been set and is able to control the temperature in the storage so that the tool is able to inhibit the rate of corrosion on the workpiece.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of power on marking quality, namely groove geometry and marking visibility and corrosion rate on AISI 304 stainless steel fiber laser marking material in corrosive seawater media. This is important because based on the results of the analysis report from the information department, the results of fork and spoon products experience corrosion, especially in the area of laser marking results. In this study, the surface of AISI 304 stainless steel material is given laser marking treatment with power variations, namely 20 and 60 W. The results of SEM testing will be carried out to obtain data on the results of groove geometry and visibility of the marking results. Furthermore, the AISI 304 stainless steel material from the marking is immersed in corrosive sea water media for a span of 60, 90 and 120 days to measure the corrosion rate that occurs. As a result, the AISI 304 stainless steel marking material is also subjected to SEM observation to determine the type of corrosion and surface morphology of the laser marking results due to the influence of corrosion that occurs. It is expected that the results of this study will be able to provide recommendations for work process parameters in laser marking that can be applied to spoon and fork products as optimal parameters for improving the quality of better marking results.

Abstract

The metal industry requires an effective quality control system to ensure that produced items meet established standards. This study aims to design a NodeMCU-based smart conveyor capable of automatically sorting metal products based on dimensions while transmitting real-time data on sorted and unsorted product quantities to a MySQL database. This data can be accessed through a website designed to facilitate monitoring. The research methodology includes planning, hardware system design, software development, and system integration stages. NodeMCU serves as the main controller, reading data from dimension-detecting sensors and activating a sorting actuator in the form of a Cylinder Pneumatic. Sorting results are transmitted via Wi-Fi to a database and displayed in real-time on a web interface. The study results demonstrate that the system effectively sorts items based on their dimensions, with the sorting data accessible for real-time monitoring through the website. This implementation enhances production processes, reduces human error, and supports the Industry 4.0 concept through IoT-based data management.

Abstract

Much research in the manufacturing industry has been conducted on variations in cutting force, temperature, and chip directly related to tool wear and cutting performance. Therefore, this research analyzed the cutting performance of cutting tools from the pack carburizing-used files against the results of turning facings. Then, the chisels were welded to ISO 6 tool holders after welding. The chisels were used to turn low carbon steel ST-37 with a diameter of 50.4 mm using a timeway CL-460 lathe with 0.2mm feeding and 400, 605, 910, and 1330 RPM variations. The test results indicated that the bit of carbide from the pack carburizing had a roughness value of 0.890 µm, belonging to class N6. Hence, the roughness value was lower (smoother) than turning facing using a file used from pack carburizing with a roughness value of 3.014 µm.

Abstract

The displacement of the stainless-steel plate to the printing work area is still managed manually by theoperator. Additionally, there is no clear benchmark to determine whether the plate is in the correct position andaligned according to the printed pattern. Thus, the print results are frequently less than perfect and require a longprocess. To address these conditions, an additional feeder is required with an automatic system that can operatein conjunction with the blanking machine, simplifying the operator's work and enhancing the blanking processefficiency. The objectives of this research are to determine the design of the feeder machine design by the needsand specifications of the machine, to discover the value of the safety factor of the Feeder machine design, and toreveal the movement system of the Feeder machine design using SolidWork 2019. This final project was carriedout in June 2023 at Politeknik Industri Logam Morowali (PILM) in Labota Village, Bahodopi District, MorowaliRegency, Central Sulawesi Province. The results show that: Researchers can make a design with the provisionsof a length of 550 mm and a width of 250 mm, while the known safety factor value for both areas is declared safesince it has Factor of Safety (FOS) value of 1 and the design movement system displayed on the animation systemin SolidWork 2019 software.
