Abstract

Dampak media sosial yang kini telah menjadi alat penting dalam strategi pemasaran dan komunikasi bagi berbagai organisasi, termasuk institusi pendidikan. pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi Ngeskrip, sebagai digital creator yang dikelola kampus Universitas Kristen Petra (PCU) di jurusan baru di lingkungan PCU yang disebut Petra Business School; di mana lewat dana Pengabdian Masyarakat yang diperoleh, diharapkan Ngeskrip mampu dikembangkan dan diberdayakan. Evaluasi aktivitas Ngeskrip dilakukan dengan menilai engagement dan menakar efektivitas strategi sosial media dalam membangun brand PBS. Evaluasi kegiatan ini menggunakan metode analisis kuantitatif deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data engagement dari postingan media sosial PBS yang dikelola oleh Ngeskrip. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa postingan yang dibuat oleh Ngeskrip memiliki engagement yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan postingan yang bukan dibuat oleh Ngeskrip. Namun, penggunaan Instagram Ads dan kolaborasi dengan influencer terbukti meningkatkan engagement secara signifikan. Strategi sosial media yang diterapkan oleh Ngeskrip meningkatkan engagement di PBS, terutama melalui penggunaan iklan berbayar dan kolaborasi dengan influencer. Abstract

This study examines the motives and satisfaction of @ussfeeds followers in consuming content. The content referred to in this study focuses more on micro-news content. Micro-news itself is news uploaded on media but its content is shorter when compared to the source. As a content aggregator, @ussfeeds must be able to satisfy every follower's motive in the fields of current affairs, passing time, social utility, finance, salient, and entertainment. The research method used in this research is an online survey with an explanatory quantitative research type. The tests carried out in this study are validity and reliability tests, paired T tests, and cross tabulation. Through the six indicators proposed by Wohn & Ahmadi (2019) followers of @ussfeeds tend to be more satisfied in passing time, and salient. Through this study, it was found that @ussfeeds could not fulfill the motives in the other four indicators.

Abstract

Men's Grooming is men's grooming, which is a behavior of grooming and grooming carried out by men. The aim of this research is to find out how many men's grooming actions occur through discussions that occur in the media discord of Darahku Biru denim community. By taking data from 5 discord channels in Darahku Biru denim community discord as a place to collect data, namely the Jeans-and-Denim channel, Apparel channel, Leather-footwear channel, Localbrand channel, and Men's-grooming channel which is limited from April 1 2024 to April 30 2024 with a total of 96 samples. This research uses a quantitative content analysis method. The results of this research show that of the total chats on 5 channels, namely 876, there are 348 chats that discuss men's grooming content. The main indicator of body unity, the trousers indicator, is the one most often discussed. Then the second highest indicator also includes the body unit, namely shoes. Meanwhile, the hair indicator is the third highest discussed. Apart from that, the discussion that is rarely discussed is about the face and body. Shows that members of the Blue Blood denim community are quite sensitive to the act of grooming, but by carrying out the act of grooming a sense of self-confidence increases, but they still show an expression of masculinity through what they wear, such as denim pants and boots.

Abstract

Communication accommodation is a process that is undergone by all new members of a community. The rapid growth of online communities among Generation Z has fostered the emergence of unique linguistic practices, including semantic-shifted slang, which can present challenges for new members to adapt and integrate. This study examines how communication accommodation strategies are employed by members of the OMORI virtual community on Discord, focusing on the use of semantic-shifted slang as a tool for group adaptation. The OMORI community serves as a platform for the players to meet and discuss with other OMORI players. This study attempts to research the OMORI virtual community in Discord, where the group members also often have other smaller groups which help them in their communication accommodation process. Employing a case study qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews, findings reveal that convergence—through observation, imitation, and gradual adoption of slang—is the dominant strategy, with small groups serving as safe spaces for experimentation and learning. Divergence also occurs when slang conflicts with personal identity or self-image. This research contributes to the field of communication studies by deepening the understanding of Communication Accommodation Theory in virtual, interest-based communities, highlighting how slang functions as both a symbolic and practical tool for fostering cohesion, negotiating identity, and strengthening group membership in online spaces.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the creative industry, enabling machines to generate images and videos that can be compiled into narrative short films. This technological shift raises important questions about authorship, control, and meaning-making in digital media. This study aims to investigate how the master-slave dialectic, a philosophical concept describing power dynamics between entities, is portrayed in AI generated science fiction short films. Using qualitative content analysis, 10 AI generated short films were examined to identify how messages related to this dialectic are communicated. The analysis reveals three major categories, vulnerability, alienated, and automation. With vulnerability and automation being most prominently depicted, while alienated appears more subtly. Across these categories, eight subcategories were identified, including two new ones which are acceptance and rebellion, that extend Coeckelbergh’s framework and reflect diverse human responses to technological dominance. These results demonstrate that AI generated films can convey complex socio-technical tensions and function as an emerging form of mass communication, contributing to the discourse on human and technology relations in contemporary media.
