Abstract

Learning mathematics using conventional learning models results in students being less interested in learning so that students' interest in learning mathematics is low. Low interest in learning can also result in unsatisfactory learning results. This research aims to determine the TGT learning in increasing student interest and learning outcomes. The type of research used is field research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of class XI MA NU Raudlatut Tholibin while the sample was taken from 1 class using the Simple Random Sampling technique. collection techniques use questionnaires and tests. The data were analyzed using statistical data techniques. The research results show that there are differences in student interest and learning outcomes between before and after learning TGTĀ  with an interest pretest average score of 45.05 and an interest posttest score of 62.55. Meanwhile, for the N-gain test, there were 3 students in the low category with increased interest in learning, 11 students in the medium category, and 8 students in the high category. In the mathematics learning outcomes test, the average pretest score was 30.45 and the posttest score was 64.27, while for the N-gain test, there were 4 students with improved learning outcomes in the low category, 12 students in the medium category, and 6 students in the high category.

Abstract

Current learning, including mathematics, is required to encourage students to have 21st century skills in the form of communications, creative thinking, critical thingking, and collaborations. Because it needs a good learning process that is able to develop these skills. This study aims to examine how to develop 21st century skills in MI Hikmatun Najah students through the theory of behaviorism in learning mathematics. This research is a qualitative method using a case study design. The techniques used in data collection are tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that developing students' 21st century skills cannot be separated from various factors in the school environment, both the role of the school, teachers, students, and society. Implementation of behaviorism learning theory in learning mathematics is an alternative in developing 21st century skills that are tailored to the goals and needs of learning. By providing a stimulus in the form of learning activities that refer to 21st century skills, it results in changes in behavior that are in line with 21st century skills

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to prove that there is a correlation between mathematical logical intelligence and mathematical problem solving ability through a contextual approach and to prove that is a significant effect of mathematical logical intelligence on mathematical problem solving ability through a contextual approach. The sample used was 31 students of class VIII B MTs Tauhidiyah Sulang with the material used is polyhedron. The learning process in this study was based on lesson plans with a contextual approach, while the data were obtained through mathematical logical intelligence instruments and mathematical problem solving ability tests. After the data was collected and analyzed using two techniques, namely simple linear correlation and simple linear regression, the conclusions were: 1) There is a positive correlation and significant (r = 0.417) between mathematical logical intelligence and problem solving ability through a contextual approach. 2) There is a significant effect of mathematical logical intelligence on mathematical problem solving ability through a contextual approach of 17.4% which is explained by the regression line equation Y=3.360+0.265X, which means that the mathematical problem solving ability variable has a consistent value a 3.360 and it can be said that for every increase 1 unit of mathematical logical intelligence value increase 0.265 trought contextual approach.
