Abstract

This study explores the role of madrasah principals in implementing the independent curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Batang. Employing a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research selected participants using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data analysis employed Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model, encompassing data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the role of madrasah principals in implementing the independent curriculum encompasses three main aspects: planning, execution, and monitoring. In the planning phase, the principals engage in program design and participate in professional development training to enhance curriculum implementation. During execution, their roles include forming a curriculum development team, preparing the madrasah operational curriculum (Kurikulum Operasional Madrasah, KOM), and establishing a project coordinator team to strengthen the profile of Pelajar Pancasila, known locally as Profil Pelajar Pancasila. In the monitoring phase, principals conduct administrative and classroom learning supervision to ensure effective curriculum implementation. These findings underscore the pivotal leadership roles of madrasah principals in supporting curriculum innovation.

Abstract

This study investigates multiple intelligence learning strategies within the context of independent curriculum-based learning (ICBL) in elementary schools. The case study qualitative research method was employed at SD Islam Nusantara, involving first-grade and fourth-grade teachers. Interviews and document analysis were utilized as data collection techniques. The gathered data was analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model, encompassing data condensation, data display, and data drawing. The findings of the study reveal that ICBL has the potential to enhance students' multiple intelligences. The ICBL process fosters improvements in linguistic intelligence, mathematical-logical intelligence, and interpersonal intelligence. Additionally, the project aimed at strengthening the profile of Pancasila students (P5) demonstrates positive effects on existential intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, naturalist intelligence, and visual-spatial intelligence.

Abstract

This study explores the application of critical education paradigms, particularly Rahmatan Lil Alamin, to enhance critical thinking skills in economics subjects through simulation learning methods. Critical education aims to challenge unjust social structures and systems by cultivating critical consciousness and empowering individuals. Simulation learning is employed as a means to promote active student engagement and stimulate critical thinking. Drawing upon literature reviews highlighting the effectiveness of simulation methods in improving critical thinking, the study investigates the impact of these methods on high school students' critical thinking skills. The literature underscores the importance of interaction, communication, and role-playing in the learning process, aligning with the goals of critical education. The research delves into understanding how simulation methods can enhance critical thinking skills in economics subjects and the effects of such methods on student learning. The study is conducted in a Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Batang, Indonesia, where learner-centered education is practiced, providing an ideal setting for implementing simulation-based critical education. Data collection methods include observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation analysis. The research employs a qualitative case study approach to gather rich data and insights into the implementation of simulation methods in economics education. Preliminary findings indicate that the simulation method fosters active participation, stimulates critical thinking, and raises awareness of real-world societal issues. Students engage in respectful discussions, considering diverse viewpoints and demonstrating tolerance, aligning with the Rahmatan Lil Alamin concept.
