Abstract

This research was conducted in the Physical Education, Health and Recreation (Penjaskesrek) Study Program of STKIP Yapis Dompu, with the goal of determining the level of nutritional status and physical fitness of Penjaskesrek students at STKIP Yapis Dompu in the year 2024 in the following practical courses. The research method used a quantitative descriptive study, and the sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 52 students in semester 3. The nutritional status measurement instrument employs test items for body mass index (IMT) and physical fitness tests (VO2Max), as well as the multistage fitness test (bleep). The results of IMT measurements were 2 students or 3.84% at the less / malnutrition level, 39 or 75% in the normal weight category, 7 or 13.46% of students in the overweight category, and 4 students or 7.69% had more weight / obesity. While the results of research on physical fitness (VO2Max) dominant students in the moderate category as many as 22 or 46.15% of students, 16 students or 30.76% in the lesser category, 4 students or 11.51% in the less category, 8 students or 19.23% in the good category, and 2 students 3.83% in the excellent category.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of leg length on service accuracy in sepak takraw among male eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Dompu. The research is grounded in the premise that anthropometric factors, particularly leg length, play a crucial role in supporting the execution of accurate service techniques. A quantitative approach with a comparative design was employed. The sample consisted of 24 students, categorized into two groups based on leg length (≥ or >92.25 cm). Research instruments includedanthropometric measurements and a standardized sepak takraw service accuracy test based on Nurhasan (2020). Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test, which revealed a statistically significant difference between students with longer legs and those with shorter legs (t-value = 2.518 > t-table = 2.069; p < 0.05). Students with longer legs demonstrated better service accuracy than their shorter-legged counterparts. These findings suggest that leg length is a key physical characteristic to consider in training foundational sepak takraw techniques. This research is expected to contribute to the development of physical education strategies that are tailored to the individual physical profiles of students.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low ability of students in throwing discus. This study aims to determine the effect of the medicine ball rotational side throw training method on improving the discus throwing ability of students in the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation study program at STKIP Yapis Dompu. The research method used an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 male students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the calculated t-value of 55.24 was greater than the t-table of 2.045 at a significance level of 0.05, so there was a significant effect of medicine ball rotational side throw training on discus throwing ability. Conclusion: This training method can be used as an alternative training program to improve rotational strength, arm power, and discus throwing ability in athletics.
