Abstract

[Study of Ship Stability on Seismic Research Vessels - RV. Baruna Jaya II] Ship safety has become a global issue and the maritime safety commission of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) developed requirements to be accepted by the parties to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS 1974 (Safety Of Life At Sea 1974). Meanwhile, ship stability is an important factor in maintaining ship safety from shipwreck by imbalance factor. Through the inclining test and loading on the ship. This study aims to determine the stability of the ship on the KR. Baruna Jaya II as a special research vessel for seismic surveys. The results of the ship stability analysis were then compared with the general criteria for ship stability according to IMO standards and the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI). As a result, metacenter height and enforcement value (GZ) met the requirements according to BKI and IMO. Furthermore, in general, all ship stability tests also showed results in accordance with IMO standards. Meanwhile, some conditions that do not meet the requirements can be normalized by fully setting the ballas. Further studies are needed, especially regarding the determination of specifications and placement of fixed ballas for calculating the stability of ships with fixed ballas. Abstract

[Prototype Development of Near Real Time Maritime Observation Station at Regional of ProposedNational Science Technopark Maritime, Penajam Paser Utara] Environmental monitoring efforts including oceanographic conditions and their interactions with the atmosphere are important inefforts to provide data and information for the use, protection and management of the maritime environment. Fulfillment of a continuous and near real-time monitoring system becomes a necessity.Penajam Paser Utara Region has been designated as the location of National Science TechnologyPark - Maritime (NSTP-M) development which facilitated by a maritime observation stationinfrastructure. By combining various subsystems, including data acquisition, data distribution and power supply management, this study aims to provide an overview of the development of monitoring system and the data generated from the maritime observation stations. As the result, the maritime observation station has been able to monitor weather parameters, tides and surface currents continuously and near real time (nRT) by adopting the Meteorological-Oceanographic (Met-Ocean) survey which is integrated in the Read Down Station (RDS) as data processing and management center in BPPT. Abstract

Division of Economic Affairs and Natural Resources, Regional Secretariat of Salatiga City has implemented a digital transformation in the reporting system for energy and water consumption by regional apparatus (OPD) through the use of Google Forms. This initiative aims to support efficient, environmentally friendly, and sustainable work practices. This study employed a participatory observation method by directly observing the process of filling out digital forms by regional apparatus organizations. The results indicate that Google Forms provide convenience in the creation, management, and acceleration of the reporting process. Real-time data collection facilitates monitoring and decision-making, while cross-device accessibility enables independent reporting from each location. Nevertheless, the implementation of this system still encounters challenges, such as limited form design, dependence on a stable internet connection, and other technical obstacles. Overall, the use of Google Forms is considered to deliver significant benefits in improving data efficiency, accuracy, and transparency. Therefore, digitalized reporting via Google Forms has the potential to serve as an effective solution in supporting better governance in Salatiga City.

Abstract

Seren Village has abundant organic waste potential, particularly banana peel waste generated from banana-processing MSME activities and wood ash resulting from household firewood combustion. To date, this waste has not been optimally utilized and is often discarded, thereby posing potential environmental problems. This study aims to process banana peel waste and wood ash into an innovative, environmentally friendly shoe polish made from natural materials, while also enhancing the economic value and welfare of the community. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the women’s Family Welfare Empowerment Group (PKK) of Seren Village as the target participants. The shoe polish production process includes drying and grinding banana peels, mixing them with a wood ash solution that functions as a natural coloring agent, adding supporting materials, and heating the mixture until a ready-to-use shoe polish is obtained. The results indicate that the shoe polish produced from banana peels and wood ash has a solid texture, is slightly coarse, non-glossy, and has a relatively fast drying time of approximately one minute. In addition, the product shows good resistance to water splashes and does not damage the surface of shoes. The use of natural ingredients makes this shoe polish safer for health. The utilization of this waste has the potential to support MSME development, reduce environmental pollution, and sustainably improve the welfare of the Seren Village community.
