Abstract

In Indonesian telecommunication industry, the service providers have rigorous competition, with complex regulations and high investments. To survive, companies must have organizational capabilities to adapt, innovate, and act dynamically. The companies in this industry require deep external knowledge from outside of the organization to adapt to new technologies and to make new products and services. However, the success percentage of a project in the industry is still low only 39%, globally. This research mainly focuses on the discussion about improvement of team performance in the development projects of the telecommunication operator companies in Indonesia. This research also relates to knowledge acquisition, knowledge transfer, and knowledge creation and their relationship to development competence, to achieve optimal project performance. The hypotheseses were tested using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with SmartPLS software. Valid data obtained from 133 respondents of project leaders of telecommunications operator companies in Indonesia.The result shows the significant effects of knowledge acquition, transfer, and creation among them and also towards development competence, moreover development competence towards organizational performance in development project team. This research has given theoretical and managerial contributions to strategic management. All of these will extend and enrich management theories.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi, kompetensi, profesionalisme, dan pengembangan karir terhadap kinerja pegawai BiroKeuangan dan Biro Kepegawaian Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan RI Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dengan menyebarkan kuesioner sebanyak 100 responden. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan informasi utama yang diperoleh melalui distribusi kuesioner dan diproses menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukan variabel motivasi, kompetensi, profesionalisme, dan pengembangan karir memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai tergolong kuat. Variasi variabel terikat yaitu kinerja pegawai dapat dijelaskan oleh kombinasi variabel bebas yaitu, motivasi, kompetensi, profesionalisme, dan pengembangan karir dapat diprediksi mengenai naik turunnya kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine and assess the impact of transformational leadership style, work communication, and teamwork on the performance of employees at Regional State-Owned Bank South Jakarta Branch through work motivation as mediation. This quantitative research study uses questionnaire collection techniques and Smart-PLS SEM with 100 employees as sample data. The findings show that transformational leadership style and work communication significantly positively influence work motivation, while teamwork does not significantly impact work motivation. In addition, transformational leadership style, work communication, and work motivation significantly positively influence employee performance but not teamwork. Another result is that work motivation cannot mediate work communication and teamwork on employee performance, but it can mediate the relationship between transformational leadership style and employee performance.
