Abstract

Pesantren-based business units need to develop adaptive marketing strategies to increase competitiveness and sales volume, including through free shipping programs that can reduce consumers’ shopping cost burdens. This study aims to analyze the effect of the free shipping program on product sales volume at the Ibbien Mart Business Unit of Pondok Pesantren Bumi Damai Al-Muhibbin. This study used a quantitative approach involving consumers and employees of Ibbien Mart as the research population. The sample consisted of 52 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed through validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis testing in the form of t-tests and F-tests with the assistance of the SPSS program. The results showed that the free shipping program had a positive and significant effect on sales volume, with a calculated t-value of 90.161, which was greater than the table t-value of 0.254, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.994 showed that the free shipping program contributed 99.4% to changes in sales volume, while 0.6% was influenced by other factors outside the research model. The conclusion of this study affirms that the free shipping program can serve as an effective marketing strategy to increase sales volume in pesantren-based business units. The implications of this study indicate the importance of optimizing marketing strategies aligned with the principles of Islamic economics, such as justice, transparency, and public benefit, so that promotional programs not only increase sales but also support business sustainability and provide benefits for consumers.

Abstract

Junior high school students’ mathematical critical thinking skills remain relatively low, particularly when solving problems involving Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). This condition is associated with instructional practices that remain oriented toward routine calculation procedures and the search for a single correct answer, thereby failing to optimally develop students’ reasoning, evaluation of assumptions, and problem-solving processes. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective test instrument for assessing mathematical critical thinking skills in SPLDV among students at SMP YPM 3 Taman Sidoarjo. The instrument development refers to six indicators of mathematical critical thinking skills, namely Focus for identifying problems, Reason for providing justification, Inference for drawing conclusions, Situation for applying concepts, Clarity for communicating the solution process, and Overview for reviewing answers. The developed instrument is designed to systematically measure students’ abilities in each indicator and to function as a diagnostic tool for identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Thus, this instrument is expected to support teachers in obtaining more accurate information regarding students’ mathematical critical thinking profiles and to serve as a basis for designing more effective, targeted, and needs-based instructional strategies and interventions.

Abstract

The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in pesantren-based schools faces challenges related to inadequate teacher preparedness and limited technological facilities, particularly the policy prohibiting students from using digital devices. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka learning models in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMA Abi Huroiroh Perak Jombang and identify the challenges and solutions in their implementation. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and students as research informants. The results showed that the Kurikulum Merdeka was implemented through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The implementation of both models supported improvements in student engagement, critical thinking skills, and the application of Islamic values in learning. The challenges identified included teachers’ limited ability to develop learning modules, time constraints, students’ adaptation to learning patterns, and inadequate interactive facilities. These challenges were addressed through teacher training and mentoring and by adapting the learning process to pesantren conditions. This study confirms that the implementation of PjBL and PBL can support improvements in the quality of Islamic Religious Education and the development of students’ Islamic character despite limited digital infrastructure. These findings provide practical implications for pesantren-based schools in flexibly adapting the Kurikulum Merdeka according to institutional characteristics, students’ needs, and the availability of learning facilities.
