Abstract

Rice is the staple food of Indonesian people. Kebumen is one of the regencies in Indonesia that produce 7.92 tons of rice ha-1. However, in the cultivation process, a farmer group in Kamulyan village named Suko Makmur faced many obstacles, including the brown planthopper. To reduce the resistance of the pest causing pest explosion, a preventive action called The Integrated Pest Management Farmer Field School was conducted (SL-PHT). The method of SL-PHT included sharing knowledge through counseling, training for the propagation of fungal isolates (Mettarhizium spp and Beauveria bassiana), and practicing integrated pest control. The results of this activity were that the farmers can understand the main point of agroecosystem management and sustainable land management. Moreover, the farmers capable of being independent in making bio-pesticide derived from Mettarhizium spp and Beauveria bassiana. The farmers also capable of pest management using bio-insecticide.

Abstract

Pembuangan minyak jelantah ke lingkungan mempunyai dampak negatif seperti pencemaran air, tanah, dan penyumbatan saluran air. Masalah sisa pembuangan minyak jelantah ini juga dihadapi kelompok Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga di lingkungan RT 05 RW 08 Karangklesem, Kelurahan Karangklesem, Purwokerto Selatan. Oleh karena itu, perlu diberikan solusi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan antara lain dengan sosialisasi mengenai minyak jelantah. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan ceramah terkait pengertian limbah minyak jelantah, dampak pembuangan, dan pemanfaatannya menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis. Hal ini dapat dilakukan secara persuasif dengan mengajak ibu-ibu kelompok Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga untuk mengumpulkan limbah minyak jelantahnya untuk dimanfaaatkan menjadi produk yang bermanfaat dan tidak mencemari lingkungan. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan sosialisasi menunjukkan peningkatan hasil kuisioner dari nilai rerata 74,57 menjadi 88,71, yang menindikasikan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai dampak pembuangan limbah minyak jelantah dan cara memanfaatkan limbah minyak jelantah agar lebih ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Ciplukan (Physalis sp.) is useful for treating disease problems. The application of plant spacing in cultivation is necessary to reduce competition. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of fertilization and planting distance on ciplukan plants. Ciplukan has strong endurance so it can live in extreme areas such as acid soil. Ciplukan cultivation on acidic land requires intensification of treatment and plant spacing to increase yields. The research used a split plot design method with the use of fertilizer treatment factors, namely without fertilizer (P1), goat manure + mycorrhiza (P2), goat manure + phosphorus (P3) and NPK (P4) and a planting distance of 40x50 cm (J1) and 30x50 cm (J2), and all treatments were repeated 4 times. The experimental results were analyzed using analysis of variance at the 5% level and the Duncan Multiple Range Test. The results of the research show that fertilization and plant spacing can simultaneously increase plant height, number of leaves, fruit weight, number of fruit, wet and dry weight of ciplukan plants. The best treatment combination in P4J1.
