Abstract

Emosi merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan manusia, baik dewasa maupun anak anak pasti memiliki emosi. Namun biasanya anak kesulitan dalam mengekspresikan emosinya dikarenakan tidak mengenal emosinya. Pengenalan emosi pada naak usia prasekolah menjadi penting sebab pada usia ini anak mulai mengembangkan pemahaman terhadap diri mereka sendiri, dan menyadari bahwa mereka merupakan sosok yang terpisah dari orang lain. Picture book dapat menjadi salah satu media untuk memperkenalkan jenis jenis emosi pada anak. Salah satu picture book yang memuat pembelajaran tentang emosi adalah The Color Monster. Picture book ini telah diterjemahkan dalam tiga puluh bahasa dan terjual sekitar 1.500.000 eksemplar. Berangkat dair informasi di atas, peneliti melihat adanya peluang untuk meneliti atata cara penyampaian konsep emosi dilihat dari perspektif retorika dan elemen elemen desainnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan cara observasi dan studi literatur. Luaran penelitian ini berupa rekomendasi rekomendasi desain yang bisa diterapkan dalam mendesain picture book bertemakan pengenalan emosi untuk anak yang tentunya akan berguna bagi desainer, penulis serta illustrator buku anak.

Abstract

Video is a form of mass media that has characteristics like a film. Music videos are videos that have a short duration as an accompaniment to music or songs. "Akhir Tak Bahagia" is a music video that tells the story of someone who loves the wrong person in her life. " Akhir Tak Bahagia " applied visual compositions in building a dramatization of sadness so that the message of the song's lyrics can be conveyed to the audience. This research discusses the application of visual composition in creating a dramatization of sadness to support the message in the music video "Akhir Tak Bahagia". The research method used is qualitative, while the approach uses a purposive sampling approach. The theory used is the theory of visual composition proposed by Gustavo Mercado. The research was carried out by elaborating the song lyrics, visual composition, and meaning as an emphasis on the dramatization of sadness, which supports the message of the lyrics of the music video song "Akhir Tak Bahagia". From the research conducted, it was concluded that the application of visual composition was in the form of a rule of thirds with empty areas and visual balance that showed scenes of sweet memories from the main character. The scene shows sweet, painful memories. On the other hand, the composition takes the form of a rule of thirds with a narrow area and visual continuity applied to the scene when Misellia sings a song with sadness. By applying this visual composition, the dramatization of sadness is conveyed so that the message of the song lyrics can be conveyed.

Abstract

Indonesia has a diversity of cultures, each of which has its uniqueness. The characteristics of a region can be the basis for forming an Intellectual Property (IP) in the form of a mascot. The presence of an IP Mascot can improve the branding performance of the region. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review comparing several case study areas are discussed. This research will specifically discuss the benefits of IP Mascots as a means of communication in a region based on the case studies raised. Based on the results, an attractive mascot design can build a region's branding image because an attractive mascot will be easier for the public to remember. Mascots can also increase consumer appeal and familiarity with a region. This research will also discuss the form of recommendations for the participation of various parties using the Pentahelix Model. It refers to coordination and collaboration towards the synergy of Pentahelix Actors to implement the role of it at tourism locations that use IP Mascot as a form of promotional media.

Abstract

The preservation of Chinese-Indonesian culture is increasingly challenged by urban development, generational shifts, and fragmented top-down policies. This study investigates how a collaborative design approach—grounded in participatory planning, stakeholder co-creation, and visual communication—can foster sustainable and inclusive cultural preservation. Using a qualitative multi-case study method, four culturally significant urban centers—Singkawang, Jambi, Surabaya, and Glodok—were analyzed. Data were collected from academic literature, government reports, and media sources, then thematically triangulated to reveal patterns of stakeholder-driven preservation. The findings show that Visual Communication Design plays a vital role in shaping cultural identity, amplifying narratives, and facilitating community dialogue through visual storytelling, media engagement, and identity design. A co-design framework is proposed to integrate cultural heritage into tourism, education, and urban revitalization. This research contributes practical strategies for inclusive heritage policies and supports the role of design in advancing Sustainable Development Goals related to culture and community.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pemanfaatan sequence dalam membantu penyampaian pesan perjuangan dalam membuktikan kebenaran di film Rebel Ridge (2024). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan penjabaran deskripsi terhadap objek penelitian yang diteliti. Objek penelitian yang diteliti adalah film Rebel Ridge (2024), sedangkan teori yang digunakan adalah teori struktur cerita yang dikemukakan oleh Syd Field, Robert Mckee dan Salman Aristo. Pembahasan dilakukan dengan melakukan penjabaran struktur cerita yang meliputi babak, sequence, dan adegan yang digunakan sebagai acuan referensi sequence. Selanjutnya, dilakukan penjabaran pesan melalui sequence film Rebel Ridge (2024). Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat sequence 1-2 yang menunjukkan pesan perjuangan seseorang untuk terus memegang prinsip kebenaran walaupun ditentang oleh orang yang berkuasa. Sequence 3 menunjukkan waktu tenang yang perlu digunakan untuk mempertimbangkan keputusan yang diambil dalam menghadapi masalah. Sequence ke 4-6 menunjukkan tentang respon dan sikap seseorang untuk terus kuat ketika menghadapi masalah. Sequence ke-7 memberikan pesan untuk terus percaya terhadap jalan keluar pada masalah yang dihadapi, sedangkan sequence ke-8 menunjukkan bahwa usaha tidak mengkhianati hasil. Dengan adanya penyusunan sequence cerita pada film Rebel Ridge (2024), pesan perjuangan seseorang dalam membuktikan kebenaran mampu diterima dengan efisien oleh penonton.
