Abstract

ABSTRACTPosyandu which is a community activity will lead to societys commitment especially the mothers, in preserving life and child growth, with technology experts from the government. The success key of Posyandu development Program is the growth society participation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between mothers motivation with the visit of toddlers to Posyandu in Dusun Belahan Brayung The Working Area of Puskesmas Puri Mojokerto Regency. The Design of this study is cross sectional analytic study design. The Population is all mothers who have toddlers as many as 88 people and taken 41 people as samples using purposive sampling. The variable is mothers’ motivation and toddlers’ visit. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire on 17 May-19 May 2012. Collecting the data, did editing, coding, scoring, tabulating and analyzing data (univariate and bivariate statistical tests and Spearmans rho). Results showed that most of the respondents have low motivation as many as 22 respondents (53.7%) and unregularly toddlers’ visit of 22 respondents (53.7%). Based on Spearmans rho test obtained p value (0.000) < α (0.05), means that H0 is rejected, so there is a correlation between mothers motivation with the visit of toddlers to Posyandu in Dusun Belahan Brayung The Working Area of Puskesmas Puri Mojokerto Regency. The value of r = 0.573 and shows the medium relationship and positively correlated, means that the higher the mothers motivation, the higher their visit to Posyandu. The majority of respondents have low motivation and the toddlers’ visit to Posyandu is not regular. This may affected by age, occupation, education, and information resources. Should there be an effort to motivate mother to visit Posyandu regularly.Key words: motivation, toddlers, visit and posyandu

Abstract

Mental retardation is a weakness that occurs in intellectual function. With the burden faced by parents will be able to cause stress and will adversely affect their children if not using the right coping strategies. This study aims to identify the level of stress and coping mechanisms in mothers who have children with mental retardation. The research design used in this research is descriptive. The instrument used is questionnaire. The sample in this research are 30 mothers who have children with mental retardation with Primary School Extraordinary level (PSE) in SLB ACD Pertiwi Kota Mojokerto. Sampling with Total Sampling technique. From the results of this study showed that most respondents experienced moderate stress level as much as 17 respondents (56.7%). Most of the respondents aged 31-49 years as many as 16 respondents (53.3%). Most respondents use adaptive coping mechanism that is 27 respondents (90,0%). The results of the analysis indicate that the stress level of mothers who have children with mental retardation is still in the level of moderate stress. This is due to the influence of mothers with social support. The higher the social support the lower the level of stress experienced by the mother. Therefore respondents should make efforts to cope with stress by changing the problems encountered and expanding the source to overcome them. Abstract

Life quality of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) patients is important to note because this infectious disease is chronic and progressive so that it has a wide impact on all aspects of life both physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. Psychosocial problems especially depression is more severe faced by patients so that it can reduce the life quality. The purpose of this study is to explain the relationship between depression and life quality in HIV patients. The design of this study used correlation analytic with non-probability sampling of consecutive types, conducted on June 23 until June 30, 2020, with 52 respondents. The research instrument used the WHO Life quality-BREF questionnaire to evaluate life quality and Beck Depression Inventory II to evaluate depression levels. The results of the study were tested with Spearman Rho and showed the level of depression in the non-depression category of (17.3%) 9 respondents in the mild category (13.5%) 7 respondents in the moderate category (32.7%) 17 respondents and in the severe category (36.5 %) 19 respondents and good life quality (42.3%) 22 respondents and poor category (57.7%) 30 respondents. From the results of the study obtained p value = (0,000) <α (0.05), which showed that there was correlation between depression level and life quality of HIV patients at Poly VCT Regional General Hospital Prof. Dr. Soekandar, Mojokerto. Depression contributed to a decrease in life quality of HIV patients, psychological burdens on sufferers such as sufferers felt pessimistic about the future, seeing themselves as worthless could have a dominant effect on decreasing life quality of HIV patients.

Abstract

Parenting patterns are one of the factors that can affect children's social interaction skills. Social interaction skills are a form of behavior that is very important for children in communicating later with people around them. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and children's social interaction skills with mental retardation at SLB ACD – Pertiwi Kota Mojokerto. The research method used is Observational with a Cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were parents and children with mental retardation in elementary, junior high, and high school in SLB ACD – Pertiwi Kota Mojokerto category C totaling 37 people. The sampling technique used was Total Sampling, a sample of 37 people, namely parents and children with mental retardation starting from elementary school, as many as 16 people, junior high school as many as 15 people, and high school as many as 6 people. The instrument in this study used the Parenting Style and Dimensions Questionnaire (PQST) questionnaire to determine parenting patterns and Observational using a questionnaire to determine the social interaction skills of children with mental retardation. The results of the study showed that the majority of parenting patterns applied democratic parenting patterns as many as 34 people (91.89%), and the social interaction abilities of mentally retarded children were in the high category as many as 16 people (43,02%). The data analysis method used Crosstabulation between parenting patterns and the social interaction abilities of mentally retarded children, so it can be concluded that the more democratic the parenting patterns, the higher the social interaction abilities of mentally retarded children. This can be said that there is a relationship between parenting patterns and the social interaction abilities of children with mental retardation at SLB ACD – Pertiwi Kota Mojokerto. Good and appropriate parenting patterns can also improve children's social interaction abilities.
