Abstract

Background : Hypertension is the most common disease found in the community. It does not only degrade the quality of life, but it can be life-threatening. Hypertension is known as heterogeneous group of disease because it can affect anyone from different age groups and various economic classes. There are two therapies for hypertension ie pharmacology and nonpharmacology. One of non-pharmacology therapy is doing ergonomic gymnastics. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of ergonomic gymnastics on blood pressure in people with hypertension in Sumber Agung Village, Jatirejo Sub-district, Mojokerto Regency. Method : This research method used one group pre test - post test design with control group. Sampling technique used was simple random sampling, from 80-person population of hypertension patient in Sumber Agung Village Jatirejo Sub-district Mojokerto Regency and become sample number 20 respondents in treatment group, and 20 respondents in control group according to criteria. Data collection using interval scale blood presure and total cholesterol. Analysis using statistical test Paired T test and Independent T-test SPSS 17. Result : From the analysis we got result p value 0,00 <0,05 it indacted that means of blood presure and lipid profile before ergonomic gymnastic and after ergonomic gymnastic shown significat value, it means that ergonomic gymnastic was very effective for blood pressure and lipid profile (total cholesterol). Discussion : Ergonomic gymnastics is one of effective therapy, easy to do and useful. Because ergonomic gymnastics can make the body become relaxed and blood vessels become vasodilated so that the blood flow and oxygen supply becomes smooth and it get impact in lipid profile . keywords : Aergonomic Gymnastic, Blood Pressure, Lipid Profile, Hipertension.

Abstract

Mental retardation is a weakness that occurs in intellectual function. With the burden faced by parents will be able to cause stress and will adversely affect their children if not using the right coping strategies. This study aims to identify the level of stress and coping mechanisms in mothers who have children with mental retardation. The research design used in this research is descriptive. The instrument used is questionnaire. The sample in this research are 30 mothers who have children with mental retardation with Primary School Extraordinary level (PSE) in SLB ACD Pertiwi Kota Mojokerto. Sampling with Total Sampling technique. From the results of this study showed that most respondents experienced moderate stress level as much as 17 respondents (56.7%). Most of the respondents aged 31-49 years as many as 16 respondents (53.3%). Most respondents use adaptive coping mechanism that is 27 respondents (90,0%). The results of the analysis indicate that the stress level of mothers who have children with mental retardation is still in the level of moderate stress. This is due to the influence of mothers with social support. The higher the social support the lower the level of stress experienced by the mother. Therefore respondents should make efforts to cope with stress by changing the problems encountered and expanding the source to overcome them. Abstract

Life in custody makes space for inmates restricted and isolated from society. Separated from family, long sentences, and negative public stigma often create prisoner stress. Individual coping responses often occur spontaneously and naturally are emotionally focused coping. But often these efforts are not enough to cause an individual effort to fail to reduce stress. This study aims to prove the effect of stress management on decreasing stress level and emotional focused coping of prisoners in Class II B Correctional Institution Mojokerto. In this research the design used is pre experiment with one group pre and post test design approach. A sample of 30 people was taken with simple random sampling. The group is given counseling about stress management. Data collection of prisoner stress using DASS 42 scale with physical, emotional and behavioral indicator with cronbach za sensitivity value 0.756, while emotional focused coping with self-control indicator, distancing, positive reappraisal, accepting responsibility, and escape with value of reactivity coefficient α cronbach 0.837. The influence analysis with the Signed-Rank wilcoxon test showed that stress management was able to decrease the stress level of prisoners with р (0,000) <α (0.05), and stress management was able to decrease the use of emotionally focused coping prisoners with р (0.011) <α (0, 05). inmates at Class II B Correctional Institution B Mojokerto. Several factors affecting the stress of prisoners in Class II B Mojokerto Penitentiary include: the perception of prisoners to the Penitentiary neighborhood, the length of crime that must be lived, the lack of entertainment and activities that can be done in the Penitentiary, the lack of opportunities to meet with the family.

Abstract

Background Became HIV-positive people was heavy burden in life, where complex issues always dealt. The complexity of the problem might be faced certainly could impact on the quality of life. One factor that had important role in the quality of life was social support. Objective The aim of this research was to know the correlation between social support and quality of life people with HIV/AIDS, Methods the research design was used correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population for this study were all people with HIV/AIDS at KOPENHAM Mojokerto in 2016 who were 79 respondents. The Samples were took by used random sampling which was 65 respondents. The data analysis used coefficient contingency shows p value(0.002) <α (0.05), it means there is a relationship of social support with the quality of life people with HIV/AIDS. Results The result of the research showed that 29 respondents who had low quality of life, 20 respondent (69,0%) did not get social support, while from 36 respondent who had high quality of life, 25 (69,4%) respondents get positive social support. Conclusions: Respondents who get social support have high quality of life, caused social support makes people feel appreciated and loved, but there are other factors in quality of life, like age, education level, economy level, marriage status, and gender.

Abstract

Purpose - This article aims to give an opinion on the cause of still the case of pasung in Indonesia, physical restraint and reduction in people with mental illness (called pasung in indonesia), still found in indonesia, government program ” indonesia free of pasung” still can not erase indonesia from pasung. Design/methodology/approach -The approach to literature study causes the escape especially social stigma that occurs to make the case of the pipe still continues to exist Findings -The findings of many literature studies suggest that social stigma is a cause of social restraint in patients with severe psychiatric disorders Originality/value -The value of this study envolve Empowering people with mental disorders through social intervention can reduce the side effects of antipsychotic drugs and simultaneously help self-stigma in people with mental disorders

Abstract

Knowledge development , research methodology definitely related to the philosopher's framework, it was very important for a scientific discipline to realize the philosophical orientation that is the basis for the development of theory and advancing science in nursing. Science becomes knowledge with the publication of results, then continue to grow as general knowledge and continued by wrote in text books, this ways would makes history to correct errors, science used physical evidence to answer questions and depends on modern humans to draw conclusions from the evidence, science looks to explain original sources, nature, and physical processes that might be detected in the univers. In practicing nursing science, nurse should stand in professional character as way to compete with others profession with several ways : 1) Legitimate job to brew great denomination 2) Valid proof in specific practice area 3) Diverse nursing knowledge in practice and theory 4) Control and standard in strong educational arrangement 5) Set up official organization in practice and education 6) Define interpersonal side in part of profession 7) Outrageously expand for ethical code and action

Abstract

In nursing field, point of view a nurse’s action on a patient, family, or community is as meaning of philosophy. Nevertheless, how does philosophy of science relate to nursing?, it is also a question that many people still doubt. This short essay aims to express my understanding about the importance philosophy of science and nursing science.Regarding to nursing field, why nursing have to concern itself with science is an important question. As we know, nurse’s role is to take care a patient and science is a way to build the knowledge.Philosophy of science and nursing science are so important, especially for nurses. It helps nurses to find out the reality of the truth and raise awareness of not only the uses scientific method to build the knowledge, but also applying the art in order to better taking care patient. Moreover, having deep understanding of philosophy, science, and nursing science is essential condition to become a nurse scientist to improve the best care practice.

Abstract

During the successive wave of globalization, nurses emphasized the requirement of specialized knowledge to improve the nursing as a profession and to make the transition from vocation to profession. The science of nursing is a foundation of knowing for nurses. Also there has a shift of nursing metaparadigm based on Kuhn’s philosophy of science. It was assumed that Philosophies are theoretical works that included one or more of the metaparadigm concepts. Philosophy provide us broad general view of what is science and human science, evolution of science, function of scientific theory, scientific methodologies, different philosophical approaches, significant philosophical shift in different eras and it would be helpful for the development of nursing as a discipline from adhering to the knowledge that we learnt in this paper.

Abstract

Graduates of PhD nursing programs are expected to produce complex genres of writing such as abstracts, research grants, manuscripts for publication, and dissertations. Research evidence shows a wide range of variability in writing among doctoral nursing students, and these variations may become more profound when exposed to complex genres. the objective of this study to explore the experience of PhD candidate in writing publication in high indexed journal. This case study used depth interview, semi structured question, Interview conducting in English, recorded voice used for transcribing data in 2 respondents from doctoral nursing candidate in Bangkok Thailand comes from Mahidol university and Chulalongkorn university. Participants’ criteria for this study are: 1) Doctoral candidate with minimum 1 publication in high indexed journal (Scopus/ ISI Thompson) 2) Doctoral nursing students that study in Thailand 3) Pass Qualifying Exam. Data analysis used modification Benner’s methods use in this study. This study exposing three themes. Theme 1: Strategies for publish. Theme 2: Support for publishing journal. Theme 3: two ways Communication with journal editors and public. Introduce scholarly writing at the undergraduate level and reinforce across the nursing education continuum, provide students with examples of quality scholarly writing, encourage student to connect with writing mentors (peers, colleagues, family, editor, faculty) are main recommendation for postgraduate student for increasing high level publication of nursing students.
