Abstract

Kata Kunci: Teknologi, kemampuan literasi matematikaABSTRACTThe use of technology is an alternative to learning mathematics, especially in improving students' mathematical literacy skills. There are many applications and websites as well as other technologies that can be used to support the learning process both face-to-face and virtual and in various ways, such as making modules, making applications, and presenting questions as a form of assessment. For this reason, this research was conducted to see the potential and challenges of using technology in improving students' mathematical lit-eracy skills. This study used the scoping review method by exploring several related articles which were carried out through five stages, namely identify-ing the research question, identifying relevant studies, study selection, chart-ing the data, and collating, summarizing, and reporting the results. The results show that the use of technology makes it easier for teachers and students in the process of learning mathematics. Therefore, the teacher's ability to use technology needs to be developed so that they can continue to innovate in technology to support the learning process.Keyword: technology, mathematical literacy ability

Abstract

While online learning continues to expand, there remains a lack of reliable evaluation tools to accurately assess students' mathematical abilities. This study aims to address this gap by developing a test instrument, supported by the iSpring application, to effectively measure these abilities. This study falls under the category of 'Research and Development' (R&D), a systematic process aimed at creating and testing innovative solutions to address specific challenges within the field of education. The research instruments consist of validity sheets, lecturers, student response questionnaires, and tests. An analysis of the expert assessment sheets was then carried out, including an analysis of the responses of students and lecturers, the validity of the questions, the reliability test, the level of difficulty test, and the different tests of the questions. The development process followed four stages: preliminary analysis, self-evaluation, prototyping, and field testing. The resulting instrument demonstrated high validity and reliability, was categorized as practical, and consisted of items with an easy difficulty level and moderate discrimination power. Meanwhile, the average mathematics ability of students is in the moderate category.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy-based problems require the ability to read, interpret and connect contextual information with mathematical concepts, which is often a challenge for students. This difficulty is especially evident in modulo congruence material which requires an understanding of number concepts and mathematical logic. This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving mathematical literacy problems related to modulo congruence material. The research subjects were ten grade XI students from one of the high schools in Gowa Regency who were selected by purposive sampling. The method used was a written test to identify the types of errors, as well as in-depth interviews to explore the causes. The results showed that students had difficulty in understanding important information from the problem, translating it into a mathematical model, and composing the solution steps systematically. The conclusion of this study shows that learning interventions are needed that focus on strengthening context understanding, practicing reading problems critically, and habituation to develop coherent solution strategies. In addition, gradual integration of mathematical literacy exercises needs to be done so that students are able to develop mathematical thinking skills as a whole.
