Abstract

Textbook is one of the learning materials that can be used by teacher and students in order to help the teaching and learning process in the classroom. An analysis to a textbook is needed, moreover after the curriculum was launched. The object of the study is students English textbook entitled “ Think globally act locally” published by Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. This study was designed in descriptive qualitative research because the object of the study was a document book. Moreover, as the data was in the form of words and documents, so the data were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that the suitability of the material in the textbook is 78.12%, which can be concluded that the material from the textbook has met the standard of content eligibility in the textbook. Meanwhile, the feasibility of using the language in the textbook is 75%, which can be concluded that the book uses language in accordance with BSNP assessment standards

Abstract

Pembelajaran sastra berbasis kearifan lokal (cerita rakyat dan konsep maja labo dahu) merupakan salah satu solusi untuk membangkitkan imajinasi peserta didik serta sebagai solusi dalam menanamkan penerus bangsa mengalami deklinasi moral. Itu terbukti dengan adanya pernikahan sedarah, anak memperkosa ibu kandungnya, korupsi semakin membudaya, tawuran antar pelajar semakin menjadi, perampokkan semakin subur, dan sejenis kejahatan lainnya. Maka, konsep kearifan loka (cerita rakyat dan konsep maja labo dahu) menjadi alat kontrol bagi setiap individu atau kelompok jika ingin bertindak, baik secara horisontal (hubungan sesama manusia), maupun secara vertikal (hubungan kepada Allah), harus dijadikan media pembelajaran di sekolah-sekolah khususnya di Bima. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk, a) Mengetahui pembelajaran sastra berbasis kearifan lokal (cerita rakyat dan ungkapan maja labo dahu) dapat menanamkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada siswa, b) mengetahui desain pembelajaran sastra berbasis kearifan lokal (cerita rakyat dan konsep maja labo dahu) dalam sebagai upaya menanamkan nilai-nilai pendidikan karaker pada siswa, dan c) untuk mengetahui relevansi pembelajaran sastra berbasis kearifan lokal (cerita rakyan dan konsep maja labo dahu) dengan penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan design penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara : (a) studi literatur dan studi lapangan (penelitian) yang hasilnya akan dijadikan dasar bagi perencanaan dalam mengembangkan model pembelajaran, (b) pengembangan model melalui uji coba terbatas dan hasil penyempurnaan model pembelajaran, dan (c) uji validasi model untuk mengidentifikasi keunggulan model hasil pengembagan. Sedangkan tehknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah (a) melalui tes, (b) melalui observasi, (c) Wawancara, dan (d) Analisis dokumen. Adapun langkah analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah (a) pengumpulan data, (b) reduksi data, (c) penyajian data, dan (d) penarikan simpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kearifan lokal dalam hal ini ungkapan maja labo dahu memiliki kesamaan dengan pendidikan karakter. Dalam kalimat lain bahwa nilai - nilai ungkapan maja labo dahu dapat dijadikan bahan pembejaran pada mata pelajaran bahasa dan sastra di SMP sederajat, dan desain pembejalaran  berbasis kearian lokal merupakan salah satu metode yang harus dipilih oleh guru guru dalam mendesain bahan ajar guna menanamkan nilai  -nilai pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik, khususnya pada peserta didik di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP).

Abstract

Sylvia Plath's poem "Daddy" remains one of the most controversial modern poems ever written. The aim of this research was to find the expresses of the aouthor feeling in the poem. The method used in this research was qualitative method with narrative approach. It showed the contradictory feelings between love as well as great hatred and disappoints feelings to her beloved daddy who does not gave any affection to her as a biological daughter. The author begins with her present understanding of her father and the kind of man that he was. As Daddy progresses, the readers begins to realize that the author has not always hated her father. She has not always seen him as a brute, although she makes it clear that he always has been oppressive. The author did not know anything apart from her father’s mentality, and so she prays for his recovery and then mourns his death. She even wishes to join him in death. The love came from Plath seeing her father as God when she was a child and from an obsessive need on the Plath’s part to love and to be loved. Meanwhile, the hate came from an intense, deep-rooted fear she felt towards her father, who completely dominated her life, viewing her unresolved feelings for her father as the root of all her pain and suffering. Plath uses various images to describe how she viewed her father. The images she uses change throughout the poem, causing the attitudes she communicates about her father to be inconsistent.

Abstract

AbstractThis community service activity aims to improve English communication skills for tour guides in Bonder Village, West Praya District, Central Lombok Regency. In carrying out this community service activity, the service team uses the interview method and provides questionnaires related to the problems and constraints of the tour guides in communicating using English. The implementation of the service is carried out by giving a pre-test by observing the tour guides in carrying out their duties to accompany and explain the objects of each tourist village to the trainer. From this activity, the tour guides have high motivation to take part in these activities so that training can provide benefits in an effort to improve the English language skills of local guides, so that it is hoped that service to guests who visit tourist areas in Bonder village, Praya Barat District, Central Lombok, in particular can be given optimally, especially foreign guests who come

Abstract

Reading as one of the language skill has important role in life give birth to the next generation of intelligent, creative, and critical people. However it appears that students still have difficulty in reading, because their  pronunciation is still less good and it is sound is still less loud. Students of second grade MTS Al Jamil Bare Eleh face several problems in reading. Based on the results of preliminary studies, it is relevant that students have difficulty reading English text because they still think their pronunciation is not good enough. The purpose of this study was to apply a short story text with the little friendship of the lion and the mouse to improve students’ reading skills. In conducting research, it is expected to improve students’ skills to read English text. To got more accurate data, analytical assessment scores are used to observe students’ reading skills which includes two components of reading, namely: pronunciation, reading aloud. This research used qualitative descriptive  analytic and was  in fourth meeting, consisted of three stages: (1) planning (2) action execution (3) observation. The result of the research indicate the success of implementing the practice of reading through short stories. An increase in pronunciation scores, and loudness of voice when reading showed that students made progress from pronunciation to reading English text aloud with scores above the average. This means that the research was successful.

Abstract

The Community Service Program that has been carried out is an English tutoring program for elementary school students in Pringgarata Village, Pringgarata District, Central Lombok Regency. This tutoring program aims to help elementary school students master basic level English well. Based on the results of the situation analysis, the understanding and mastery of English at the elementary level of elementary school students in Pringgarata village is still low. This is not a strange thing because English is a foreign language so mastering it is not easy. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to grow and increase their awareness to learn outside class hours. This tutoring program also aims to foster student independence to study on their own at home. And with this effort, it is hoped that students will be able to improve their English skills and grades. This English learning guidance concerns the mastery of the four English skills, namely: listening (listening), reading (reading), speaking (speaking), and writing (writing). Besides, it is also taught about structure and vocabulary. The tutoring program that has been carried out has been successful. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of elementary school students to take part in this tutoring program. Their attendance reached 100%. And from the results of the learning evaluation, it appears that they have shown an increase in their English skills in all four skills, namely listening, reading, speaking and writing and two components of English, namely grammar and vocabulary.

Abstract

Pemilihan jurusan perguruan tinggi adalah langkah krusial dalam perjalanan pendidikan siswa SMA. Namun, keputusan ini seringkali dipenuhi dengan tantangan dan kebingungan, oleh karena itu diperlukan bantuan yang tepat untuk memastikan kesesuaian minat, bakat, dan tujuan karir siswa. Pengembangan program bimbingan karir berbasis kompetensi menjadi penting untuk memberdayakan siswa dalam proses ini. Abstrak ini menguraikan gagasan dan langkah-langkah yang diperlukan dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan program tersebut. Langkah-langkah yang perlu diambil termasuk analisis mendalam tentang kebutuhan pasar kerja dan tren industri, serta penilaian kompetensi dan minat siswa. Selanjutnya, penetapan tujuan yang jelas dan merancang kurikulum yang mencakup aspek-aspek seperti asesmen minat, eksplorasi karir, dan pengembangan keterampilan pengambilan keputusan. Kolaborasi dengan perguruan tinggi dan industri juga penting untuk memberikan wawasan yang akurat tentang berbagai program studi dan peluang karir. Pelaksanaan program melibatkan penyediaan bimbingan individu dan kelompok yang dipandu oleh konselor yang terlatih, serta menyediakan akses ke sumber daya karir dan teknologi informasi yang relevan. Evaluasi berkala diperlukan untuk mengukur efektivitas program dan melakukan penyesuaian yang diperlukan berdasarkan umpan balik dari siswa dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya. Melalui pengembangan program bimbingan karir berbasis kompetensi, diharapkan siswa SMA dapat memilih jurusan perguruan tinggi dengan lebih percaya diri dan tepat sesuai dengan potensi mereka. Hal ini tidak hanya akan memberikan manfaat bagi siswa secara individual, tetapi juga akan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas tenaga kerja dan pembangunan manusia yang berkelanjutan.
