Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the description of the application of school-based management in Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Nongsa District, Batam City and the quality of education of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Nongsa District, Batam City. conducted in SDIT which is located in Nongsa sub-district, Batam City. The participants/informants of this research are; 1) Principal; 2) Teacher; 3) Employees 4) School Committee at Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Nongsa District, Batam City. Data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis includes data collection, data selection, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. School-based management at the Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Nongsa District, Batam City is quite optimal. SBM is implemented by implementing a school-based learning curriculum that refers to the Education Office and is combined with an integrated learning model that is typical of Islamic schools, school-based student management, school-based management of educators and education personnel, sapras management, school-based financing management, school relations management and education. school-based society. school-based cultural and environmental management, while the education quality of the Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Nongsa District, Batam City is adequate both in academic and non-academic aspects.

Abstract

Complex Mathematical Problem Solving (CMPS) is a crucial competency that equips students to navigate uncertain future situations. To enhance this skill, there is a need for more effective instructional models. One promising approach is Interactive Case-Based Learning (ICBL), an advanced iteration of the Case-Based Learning model. ICBL engages students with intricate real-world cases, enabling them to grasp mathematical concepts and adapt to novel and unfamiliar scenarios encountered in everyday life. This study aims to evaluate students' CMPS abilities following participation in ICBL-based instruction and to assess their responses to this instructional approach. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving an experimental group and a control group. The participants were seventh-grade students studying sequences and series. The research utilized ICBL-based teaching materials, CMPS ability tests, and student response questionnaires. The study's findings are that students instructed using the ICBL model demonstrated superior CMPS abilities compared to those instructed using traditional methods, and students responded positively to the ICBL instructional model in mathematics learning. This research underscores that the ICBL model can significantly enhance students' ability to solve complex problems. Consequently, educators should consider incorporating the ICBL model into their teaching strategies, and curricula should be adapted to support its implementation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether the achievement and improvement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of junior high school students who get the experiential learning model is better than those who get conventional learning and to find out which indicators of critical thinking abilities that junior high school students find difficult. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research type. The design in this research was the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used in this research is a set of tests to describe the mathematical critical thinking ability with a system of two-variable linear equations. The analysis used in this research using the t test, with a one-party hypothesis. Post-test data is used to see the achievement of mathematical critical thinking abilities and N-gain data to see the improvement. The conclusion in this research is the achievement and improvement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive experiential learning is better than the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive conventional learning. There is aspect that students find difficult, namely the advanced clarification aspect.
