Abstract

Breastfeeding is very beneficial for babies, mothers and families. However, not all mothers provide breastfeeding exclusively to their babies, because there are very limited breastfeeding counselors and the low availability of educational facilities and infrastructure on breastfeeding. The solution offered is to provide assistance and training to midwives who have not become breastfeeding counselors to be able to provide breastfeeding counseling using the Dukesi media (Breastfeeding Package Module). Dukesi is a module that makes it easier for mothers to get various information about breastfeeding. The training was attended by 26 midwives from 26 Primary Health Care in Blora District, conducted for 3 meetings. The first meeting was the pretest, delivering material on the role of health workers to increase exclusive breastfeeding coverage, use of health education media, material on the breastfeeding package module. The second meeting was providing material on breastfeeding counseling technique skills. The third meeting is the practice of breastfeeding counseling, posttest and evaluation. Based on the paired t-test, it was found that there was an effect of training using dukesi media on the knowledge level of 0.000 (<0.05) and there was an effect of training using dukesi media on breastfeeding counseling skills at 0.000 (<0.05). Keywords: breastfeeding; counseling; dukesi; module; training

Abstract

Background: Stunted children are not only less tall, but most of them are also underweight. Lack of nutritional intake, especially protein intake, is suspected as one of the factors. Shredded chicken and catfish nuggets have high protein, but the scientific evidence for these food supplements in increasing stunting children's weight is still limited. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of supplementation chicken floss and catfish nuggets to increase weight gain in stunted children. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design; as many as 70 stunted children with underweight participated in this study. Respondents were given supplementation for 14 days. Respondents' weight was monitored before and after. Data were analyzed by pair t-test.Results: The results of the hedonic test of 30 panelists said that 27 (90%) stated that they received chicken floss, and 28 (90.33%) received catfish nuggets. There was an increase in the average stunting toddler weight after the given supplementation, which was 0.534 kg, (p<0.0001).Conclusion: Chicken floss and catfish nuggets supplements can increase weight gain in stunted children.

Abstract

Indonesia's exclusive breastfeeding coverage in 2023 was recorded at only 67.94%, down from 67.96% in 2022. The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for babies is caused by several factors, one of which is a lack of breast milk production in the breasts. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of a combination of breast massage and oxytocin massage on breast milk production in primiparous postpartum mothers in Kapuan Village, Blora Regency in 2024.This research is a quasi-experimental study with one pre-test and post-test with control group. The population of this study was 30 primiparous postpartum mothers at the Kapuan Community Health Center in October - December 2024 with the number of samples taken using the total sampling method. Data was measured using a pretest, namely measuring breast milk production, carried out on the 8th day of postpartum and the posttest carried out on the 10th day. Measurement of breast milk production was carried out 3 times, namely at 7, 8, 9. Intervention (a combination of breast massage and oxytocin massage) was carried out for 2 days. , one session for 15 minutes. The research was carried out in October – December 2024. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used the Mann Whitney U test. The average breast milk production in the pretest intervention group was 77.67 ml, while in the control group it was 76.67 ml. The average breast milk production in the posttest intervention group was 92.33 ml, while in the control group it was 78.0 ml. The Kruskal-Wallis results obtained a significance value of 0.000 (p0.05), thus it was concluded that there was an effect of the combination of breast massage and oxytocin massage on breast milk production in primiparous postpartum mothers at the Kapuan Health Center, Blora Regency

Abstract

Stunting is still a problem in Indonesia. In 2022, the stunting rate will still be high, namely 21.6%, with the expected national target in 2024 being 14%. The lack of understanding and skills of cadres in anthropometric measurements causes many of the results of weighing, data collection and recording of stunting detection to be inaccurate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ‘cermati’ media (intelligent measuring anthropometry) to increase knowledge and skills of cadres in stunting screening. The research design was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-posttest with control group design conducted in Blora Regency from June to August 2023. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The population in this study were all cadres in Blora Regency. The sample in this study were 26 experimental respondents and 26 control respondents. Data analysis used the independent t-test. The results showed that there was an effect of the ‘cermati’ media (intelligent measuring anthropometry) to increase knowledge (p-value 0.000) and skills of cadres in stunting screening (p-value 0.000). Thus, the ‘cermati’ media (intelligent measuring anthropometry) can be used as an effort to increase knowledge and skills of cadres in stunting screening.
