Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difficulty in solving the absolute value equation using the Discovery Learning learning model for grade X students of SMK Negeri 2 Tambolaka City.  This type of research is a descriptive qualitative method, which means that the data in the study is in the form of sentence structure obtained from test results, interviews and ducumentation. The subjects of the study were 10 grade X students of SMK Negeri 2 Tambolaka City and three people were randomly selected to be interviewed. Data analysis techniques are Data obtained in this study in the form of data on absolute value test results and interview results. After the data is collected, data reduction is carried out which aims to focus on the things to be researched, namely analyzing the answers of students who have been selected as research subjects. The results showed that the overall percentage of student test results contained 3 types of difficulties carried out by students, namely concept difficulty 80%, principle difficulty 50%, verbal difficulty 50%. The impact of these difficulties is that students do not relearn the material that has been given during learning and do not pay attention to researchers delivering the material

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that cause for school delaays for class III students at SDK Kalembu Ligha and their impact on learning outcomes. This type of research is qualitative research using deskriptive methods carried out in from of observation, interviews, dokumentation and data analisys techniques including, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions and verification. This research was carried out in class III of SDK Kalembu Ligha with a total of 12 students. The results of the research show that the faktors that cause class III student to be late for school are internal faktors and eksternal faktors. Internal faktor include student often waking up late, and eksternal faktors, namely, student are still busy on the road. The distance traveled from home to school is very far, about 2.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the difficulties faced by students in solving problems in three-dimensional material with the subject being 2 students in class XII MIA. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. The data analysis technique used was a qualitative data analysis technique by selecting 2 students from 53 students to be used as interview subjects. Data collection was carried out using written tests and interviews. The research results obtained include factors that cause students to have difficulty understanding learning and solving problems in three-dimensional space material, namely students do not understand the concept of triangles, students' low interest in learning so that students become less attentive and lazy, do not understand the meaning of the questions, and students only memorize the concept, so they are given other questions and are confused

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to the determine students, problem solving in the operation of calculating of integers for students at SMP Negeri 1 Tambolaka City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research are all students in class VIIB of SMP Neger 1 Tambolaka City, totaling thirty-six students. The object of a research in the aritmatic operation of adding integers to students SMP Negeri 1 Tambolaka City . The data colection techniques used were written test, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research above, it can be conluded that problem solving analysis of problem solving in the aritmatic operation of adding integers to students at SMP Negeri 1 Tambolaka City. In the problem solving indicator there are, 58.52% of students who understand the problem, 58.52% of students were able to prepare a solution plan,34.63% of students were able carry out plan, students were able to look again, student are able to see return there is 29.61%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mistakes in solving story problems on number pattern material in class VIII of Rangga Rame Private Junior High School for the 2023/2024 school year. The type of research used in this study is qualitative. The subjects in the study were students of class VIII Rangga Rame Private Junior High School with a total of 17 students. The object of this study is the analysis of student errors in solving story problems on number pattern material. Data collection techniques there are tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques go through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the data analysis showed that the overall percentage of students who made mistakes in solving story problems on the number pattern material reviewed from the Newman procedure at the problem reading stage was 0%, the problem understanding stage was 71%, the transformation stage was 92%, the process skills stage was 98%, and the answer writing stage was 98%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' reflective thinking skills in solving story problems on kite material reviewed from Visual, Auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 15 students of grade VII of Bukambero Private Middle School. The subjects of the study were selected by purpose sampling by looking at the criteria for high, medium and low reflective thinking ability categories for each learning style. The object of this study is students' mathematical reflective thinking skills in solving story problems on kite material reviewed from learning styles. The data collection techniques used were Questionnaires/learning style questionnaires, reflective thinking ability tests, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study using reflective thinking indicators showed that students with visual learning styles and students with Auditory learning styles were only able to meet the Reacting and comparing indicators, so this subject had moderate reflective thinking skills. while students with kinesthetic learning styles were able to meet all the Reacting, comparing and contemplating indicators. So it can be stated that students with kinesthetic learning styles have high reflective thinking skills compared to visual and auditory learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving abilities of seventh-grade students at SMP Kristen Palla on the topic of algebraic expressions using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 20 student participants. Data were collected through problem-solving tests and interviews based on Polya's problem-solving steps: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the result. Data analysis techniques using the Miles & Huberman model, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that 10 students (50%) demonstrated high problem-solving abilities and achieved mastery, 6 students (30%) were in the medium category, and 4 students (20%) were in the low category. Based on the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) set at 75, 10 students (50%) met the standard, while the other 10 (50%) did not. The PBL model effectively supports students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, making learning more meaningful and contextual. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies to enhance students' mathematical problem-solving abilities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of online gaming on the learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDM Puu Uppo. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of increasing intensity of online gaming among elementary school students, which is suspected to affect their concentration, motivation, and academic achievement. This study uses a qualitative approach with structured interviews as the main instrument, supplemented by documentation of students' daily test results. The research subjects are 20 sixth-grade students who were selected purposively to obtain a more in-depth picture of online gaming habits and their impact on learning. Research data was collected through interview guidelines that focused on the frequency of gaming, duration, and its impact on learning activities at home and at school. In addition, learning outcome data was obtained through students' daily test scores in several core subjects. The results showed that the majority of students who played online games intensively tended to experience a decline in their daily test scores. This was due to reduced study time, decreased concentration, and increased fatigue as a result of excessive playing time. Thus, it can be concluded that online games have a negative impact on the learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDM Puu Uppo, requiring parental guidance and wise control of online game use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving Pythagorean theorem problems using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning approach. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach aimed at determining the types of errors in solving Pythagorean Theorem problems after PBL. The results of the study showed that students' errors varied, ranging from conceptual errors such as understanding the definition of the Pythagorean theorem to procedural errors such as errors in calculations and use of formulas. These errors are influenced by students' understanding of basic concepts, problem-solving skills, and students' ability to apply the Pythagorean theorem in various problem contexts. The results of the study showed that students' abilities in solving Pythagorean Theorem problems that answered the questions correctly were still lacking. The cause of the errors made by students was that students were not careful in reading the questions, were not careful in understanding the questions so that they made mistakes in writing what was known and what was asked, so that they were less able to solve the questions so that they made mistakes in solving the questions.
