Abstract

Children's ability to improve linguistic performance and emotional and spiritual intelligence is shaped by genetics and largely influenced by social factors. The main focus of this study is to determine the significant effect of social factors on linguistic performance and emotional and spiritual intelligence. The descriptive-quantitative method of research was used in the study. There were 110 students included as respondents, selected through simple random sampling. The linguistic performance test, USM Emotional Quotient Inventory, and Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory served as instruments to gather data from the respondents. The data were analyzed through t-test, ANOVA, and post-hoc. Based on the careful analysis, social factors affected students' linguistic performance and emotional and spiritual intelligence. The findings discovered: 1) A significant difference among the respondents' linguistic performance on students' family religiosity, involvement in the social group, and students' madrasah experience; 2) A significant difference in their emotional intelligence as far as students' family educational attainment, income, and students' madrasah experience; and 3) A significant difference on students' spiritual intelligence on their involvement in the social group. This study recommends parental attention to increasing children's activeness in a good social environment because they tend to have better linguistic performance and emotional and spiritual intelligence. Likewise, the school atmosphere is important in supporting children's abilities.

Abstract

The child is the successor of the generation, the most important component of society for the family, religion, and nation. Sexual violence is a treatment that occurs through unwarranted coercion, causing psychological pressure or physical injury to the person who suffers it. If we want a better future for children, then every child needs good maintenance and education. Therefore, pusat pelayanan terpadu pemberdayaan perempuan dan anak (P2TP2A) is an institution that has authority over issues related to the deprivation of the rights of women and children. In 2020, Aceh was ranked ninth in the province of sexual violence against children in Indonesia, which in the previous year was ranked sixteenth. Related to regulation, Aceh has Qanun number 9 of 2019 on Child Protection in the implementation of violence handling and qanun Jinayah number 6 of 2014 as the basis for making decisions on cases of violence against children. The purpose of this study was to determine what efforts are made by P2TP2A in coaching victims of sexual violence against children. This study used a qualitative approach while applying observation, interviews, and literature review by collecting data from research, articles, news, or relevant sources. The subjects of this study were staff members of P2TP2A Banda Aceh. The results showed that the coaching efforts undertaken by P2TP2A Banda Aceh City are carried out through three stages, namely recording, identification of interventions, and service delivery. Services provided include health care, counseling, legal services, provision of safe housing, and social rehabilitation. The obstacles faced are budget problems and support from the community. The benefit of conducting this research is to see what efforts are being made by P2TP2A Banda Aceh towards sexual violence against women and children and what efforts are being made by the government, including P2TP2A Banda Aceh in the process of controlling the protection of women and children.

Abstract

The inability to overcome academic challenges in boarding schools may lead to adverse health outcomes and negatively impact students' subjective well-being. One potential approach to enhance subjective well-being is through the cultivation of hope and religiosity. The purpose of this study is to prove the relationship between hope and religiosity on the subjective well-being of students. The research was conducted using quantitative methods with the help of the SPSS application. The sample was selected through cluster random sampling with the criteria of students who also live in Islamic boarding schools and are 18–25 years old. A Likert-scale questionnaire was administered to 334 students to collect data. The research location is in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The instruments used in this study include the Satisfaction of Life Scale (SWLS), the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS), the Hope Scale, and the Religiosity Scale. The final analysis for the hypothesis test was carried out by multiple linear regression analysis, which had previously been carried out in prerequisite tests. The results indicated that the three hypotheses were supported, demonstrating a significant and positive correlation between hope and religiosity on the subjective well-being of Mahasantri. Furthermore, the two independent variables individually influenced the dependent variable. The practical contribution of hope and religiosity to subjective well-being was 40.2%, suggesting that these factors play a substantial role in enhancing the subjective well-being of students. The study revealed that the effect of hope (33.5%) was more pronounced than that of religiosity (17.8%), which can be attributed to hope possessing two crucial aspects in goal attainment that religiosity lacks: the development of planning and the capacity for self-motivation.
