Abstract

Background: Indonesia is one of the tropical countries in the world that is illuminated by the sun all year round. High sun exposure requires Indonesian people to be more concerned about skin protection, especially melanoma. The risk factor for melanoma is exposure to UV radiation so melanoma can be prevented by reducing exposure to UV rays, one of them by using sunscreen. The use of sunscreen with SPF 15+ every day can reduce the risk of developing melanoma by 50%. Objective: This study aims to obtain information about the level of knowledge and behavior of people in Tembung about the use of sunscreen to prevent melanoma. Methods: The research design used is descriptive research using a cross-sectional study. The Data was obtained through the distribution of online questionnaires with 100 people. Furthermore, the data obtained will be processed using SPSS. Results: 41 people had sufficient knowledge about melanoma, 67 people had less knowledge about sunscreen, and 38 people had good behavior. Conclusion: Most of people in Tembung have sufficient knowledge about melanoma, lack knowledge about sunscreen, and have a good behavior in using sunscreen.

Abstract

Background: Soil is where humans can do an abundance of activities. Soil can be contaminated by various factors. Soil is also a medium of development, storage and transmission of several types of worms, commonly referred to as Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH). Objective: The purpose of this study was to find out the characteristics of residential land in the Sukadono Hamlet Helvetia District Deli Serdang. Methods: The sample in this study was 72 soils taken from the front, back left or right of the house. The soil is measured in temperature, humidity, pH value and is checked using a Digital Soil Analyzer. Results: The results showed that most of the soil characteristics in Sukadono Hamlet Helvetia District Deli Serdang were abnormal. The STH examination results also showed that (45.8%) of the 72 soil samples examined positively contained STH. Hookworms were found in (32.9%) soil samples, Ascaris lumbricoides species in (5.3%) soil samples, Strongyloides stercoralis species were found positive in (7.9%) soil samples and a mixture of STH is present in 2 (3.9%) soil samples. Conclusion: The resident soil in research areas had been contaminated by Soil Transmitted Helminths.

Abstract

Based on a survey we conducted in November 2019 at Gunungsitoli Regional Hospital regarding visum et repertum of bodies that were not good quality, this activity aimed to improve the skills of general practitioners at Gunungsitoli Hospital, especially those on duty in the Emergency Unit in making reports in the form of visum et repertum. with good quality. The method is implemented in the form of a lecture followed by a question and answer. Results: Based on interviews, questions and answers, observations and pre-test results (mean score of 58) and post-test (mean score of 86), during the activity, the results of the increase in understanding of general practitioners at Gunungsitoli Hospital in making visum et repertum. With a good visum et repertum report, it will make clear an incident of a criminal act that occurred so that the settlement of the case in court gives the fairest possible decision.

Abstract

Since the beginning of 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic has been going on and you don't know when it will end, while the number of cases continues to increase, but there are still many people who have not lived according to health protocols including the people of Suka Pulung village, Langkat Regency, so this activity aims to increase understanding of Covid -19 and efforts to prevent transmission. The method is implemented in the form of a lecture followed by a discussion / question and answer. Results: Based on interviews, questions and answers, observations and pre-test results (mean score of 76.6) and post-test (mean score of 80.5), during the activity, it resulted in an increase in people's understanding of Covid-19. and efforts to prevent its transmission, especially through living according to health protocols, thus there will be no new Covid-19 cluster in the village of Suka Pulung.
