Abstract

Classroom has a significant role in student learning performance. So, its procurement becomes a concern. Nowdays, classrooms have not gained much attention. The preponderances of classroom conditions are old. They exist based on the preferences of prior generations. It is reputed to be less relevant for the current age. Generation Z has different learning behavior from the preceding cohort. From this phenomenon, it is crucial to develop an ideal classroom. Thus, the first step could conduct a study related to user learning behavior in the classroom. It is important to understand their wants and needs. This study reviewed nine previous inquiries related to student learning behavior through systematic literature review method. It provides an overview of student's experiences while learning in the classroom. The study concludes several factors that influenced Generation Z's learning behavior. They are classroom physical elements, self-uplifting, institutions support, and social affection. This result becomes useful information for education principals.  Also, the next study can use it as an instrument to test on college students. This selection of college students is the absence of this topic research. It is because previous studies have focused on secondary or higher school students. So, it will enrich research on the factors that influence learning behavior

Abstract

Classrooms significantly affect student performance and learning behavior. A substantial number of classrooms were constructed reflecting the preferences of the preceding baby boomer generation. Thus, these outdated facilities may not align with the current needs and wants of Generation Z students. Recognizing this incongruity, there is a pressing need to enhance classrooms facility. This study aims to comprehensively examine the learning behavior of Generation Z students, serving as the foundational step in the development of advanced classrooms. The investigation specifically focuses on studio-based classrooms, incorporating students with a background in design major. The primary research question pertains to the factors influencing the learning behavior of Generation Z design students in studio-based settings. Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilizes exploratory factor analysis (EFA) techniques to identify key factors influencing the learning behavior. Comprising 104 students as respondents selected through convenience sampling, were involved in the study out of a total population of 132. Data analysis conducted by using JASP statistical software, employing the EFA method, revealed three prominent factors: facility & social support, self skill, and self impetus. Keywords: learning behavior, design students, Generation Z, studio-based classrooms, EFA.

Abstract

A prominent global shoe brand, such as Adidas, is intricately linked to its identity as a product and a fashion symbol. The brand's commitment to innovation and development is evident through various collaborations, a notable example being the partnership with Lego. The focus of this research is the ZX 8000 Lego® shoes, a product made from the fusion of Adidas and Lego. Analyzing the product photo of these shoes serves as the basis for exploring symbols and their meanings. Product photos, as a powerful tool, contain information that captivates consumers and influences purchasing decisions. This qualitative research, employing a descriptive analysis method with the Roland Barthes Semiotics approach, delves into denotation (signifiers) and connotation (signified) meanings within the elements of the product photo. The identified meanings lay the groundwork for unraveling the myth or ideology embedded in the product photos. The study reveals denotations like dominant shoe pairs, vibrant colors, contrasting materials, dual logos, scattered Lego blocks, a white background, and trademark presence. Connotations, on the other hand, revolve around roles, harmonization of meaning, strategic displays, simplicity as a value, and trademarks as assets and symbols of approval. These meanings collectively aim at attracting new consumers, suggesting an underlying ideology favoring capitalism. Despite this, the collaboration proves mutually beneficial, portraying a harmonious coexistence that benefits both brands.
