Abstract

Falling in love is the most phenomenal event in the history of human being.Discussion of falling in love is never finished talking about it. When lovers arefalling in love, they long for a perfect happiness in their heart. The onlypossibility to achieve this happiness is that the lovers live together as amanifestation of the unity of love. This union that is lived by them is expectedto take place in eternity. In the experience of falling in love, a couple of humanbeing, as if, live “across this world” in which they are tasting the divine life intotal happiness, perfect unity, and eternal life. Actually, the total happiness isexperienced as a partial happiness. This has the effect that the perfect unity isonly a dream because the unity is experienced in its imperfection. Furthermore, the eternity of love is only a romantic love in changing continuously. It is theexperience bringing falling in love with its serious problems. However, thosewho fall in love are really human beings who are still in their limitations.

Abstract

The problem of the universe having a great mystery encloses the big question about its origin. To answer the origin of universe, generally, there are two approaches, namely faith and science. The main question has to be replied: “What do the differences and the similarity of them?” The approach of faith bases on the inquiry of “who causes the existence of the universe”. This approach states that the origin of universe was created by God and hence, it was formed by God from a nothingness (creatio ex nihilo). This is known as the theorem of creation. Furthermore, the scientific approach is grounded on the research of “how the universe was formed in the beginning”. This oncoming being explained by the Big Bang Theory, which is continued by the Big Crunch Theory, asserts that the origin of universe came from the prime matter which exploded incredibly in a such a way that the formation process of the universe took place (the singularity). This is well-known as the theory of evolution (the cosmological evolution). In conclusion, the scientific approach explaining the process of creation and the faith one answering the actor of it are complementary.

Abstract

Today, the role of religions still exists in the public sphere. Habermas sees that religious citizens tend to give their aspirations in the public sphere in a destructive way. As a result, A religion is considered the cause of crime. Actually, It has a various positive benefits to be brought into the public sphere. Therefore, they can convey aspirations in a more appropriate way, namely through a religious discourse. The religious discourse is an act of discourse, that is a discussion with arguments to reach a rational consensus of the best arguments, in the realm of religion. It involves the religious, the secular, and the citizens. It also faces several challenges such as religious fundamentalism, religious privatization, and political religiofication, but it is very relevant to Indonesia, which has many religions and belief streams. Particularly, it is important to see how the relationship between religion and state in Indonesia in order to should be realized.

Abstract

As Christians, it is our duty to tell the world the truth. The truth is not totally an abstract concept. By the existence of Jesus in time and space, we are able to know God himself empirically according to our sensibilities as human being. In short, proclaiming Jesus’ life is proclaiming the truth itself. Nowadays, this duty requires more effort in order to spread the spirituality of Jesus to more people. Progressive development in many ways and stuff bring more obstacles than before. Those who involve themselves in ecclesiastical services should improve their skills due to many challenges among plethora misleading teaching and misconception about what the truth is. In this case, church takes important part in educating and formatting certain people – they could be either priests, religious men or women, or lay people – through its ecclesiastical studies. As for progress, there are at least four fundamental elements we should to care about in order to build better and updated ecclesiastical education.

Abstract

The true religious feeling is rooted in adoration. The taste of adoration is derived from the experience of God which indeed shake one’s soul. On one side, the experience of God leads to the recognition of God as the Great Creator of the universe. In this case, God is experienced as the everything. On the other side, it causes that human being encounters the self-recognition as a helpless creature. One feels as a nothingness of creature here. The feeling of adoration, therefore, has a religious structure in human soul that has a direction to God. As the structure of soul, the adoration is likely to be subjective which means that the subject experiences God (the world of ideas) and at the same time, it is objective that God is experienced by the subject (the real world). The object of the experience of adoration is, particularly, transcendent. Finally, the sense of adoration is needed to revive the living of faith for the believers.

Abstract

This article means to explain the epistemology of Immanuel Kant. According to Kant, epistemology has to start from the knowing subject than the known object. Here, it happens the reversal of epistemology as the Copernican revolution. The main reason is that what is known by man contends in the object which appears to the subject (phänomenon) and is not the object itself (noumenon). Based on this, Kant applies the epistemological principle “synthetic a priori,” which elaborated on the thought of transcendental esthetic, transcendental logic, and transcendental dialectic. The transcendental esthetic represents the object precepted by the senses, and then the transcendental logic processes it with the categories in the reason. Particularly, Kant asserts that the soul, the world, and God in the transcendental dialectic are the ideas of intellect, but they do not have natural objects. Finally, he clarifies how the paradigm of transcendental idealism becomes the reconciliation between Rationalism and Empiricism in the way of epistemology

Abstract

Homo somaticus is the primary reality of human beings. Humans are recognized as such through their bodies and interact with both others and the world using their bodies. This article aims to argue for the existential importance of the human body. The article explores the nature and functions of the human body through the lens of phenomenology. Homo somaticus acknowledges that the human body possesses uniqueness among other creatures. As homo somaticus, humans have five fundamental body functions. Firstly, the worldly body signifies that humans are “beings-in-the world,” integrating with the world through their bodies. Secondly, the epistemological body indicates that humans acquire, assimilate, and convey knowledge through their bodies. Thirdly, the economic body suggests that the body becomes a determinant of possession, assuming the existence of a body. Fourthly, the ascetical body highlights the necessity of engaging in human activities to cultivate valuable virtues. Fifthly, the sexual body identifies the experiences shared by men and women, enabling biological reproduction and shaping social relationships. Homo somaticus underscores that the spirit is embodied, with the spirit being manifested through the body in the world. Nevertheless, the body is an integral part of human existence in the world
